Do you think Owl was always an asshole, or did he get seduced by Immortality?
Why the hell does Isshin fight you at the end, despite helping you throughout the whole game? Was it the will of Genichiro? Did he just want a good fight?
In the "true" ending, Kuro gets absorbed (?) by the Divine Child, and then her and Sekiro go o a Journey to the West. What's up with that?
I hope the DLC will focus on the Ministry, and the parasites more, and it would be neat for the continuation of the "true" ending.
>Journey to the West Obligatory Asian reference to Journey to The West. Duh
Nolan Perez
FOR THE LAST TIME WEST MEANS CHINA, YOU FUCKING RETARDS. NOT AMERICA. NOT BRITAIN. THE DIVINE DRAGON COMES FROM CHINA. FIND A NOOSE AND HANG YOUR STUPID SELVES.
Jack Hughes
Why so certain it means china?
Liam Hall
The game refers to Spain as "from the west" with Robbert and his father.
Kevin Reyes
I think she just absorbed him...somehow?
Henry Butler
Anyone wanna guess what those tree dragons we fight are? I'm thinking they are other mist nobles (flutes) from when takeru and tomoe were around giving everyone dragonrot (coughing) that have somehow ascended past slugs into trees
Aaron Myers
at first i thought she looked pregnant and was shocked miyazaki showed child-pregnancy but she clearly isnt. her clothes are just baggy
wtf is going on in that jif? did the cats feet get sucked into a vacuum ?
Isaac Hernandez
Who's Takeru again?
Brandon Cox
since there's no help thread just got to designated monkey. i tried him three or four times before leaving him for tomorrow. what's the strat?
Oliver Butler
tomoes lover
Jaxon Morris
Wait wat? How the hell is Spain implied? Weren't firecrackers a China thing mostly? Am I missing something here?
Christian Clark
No one said that. West just doesnt point specifically to any country.
Luis Hill
have you fought that armored guy on the bridge yet? dos that look like chinese armor to you?
Mason Lee
No, retard. You fucking were like "THE WEST IS CHINA NO QUESTIONS" and I debunked that the west only alludes to China since they refer to spain as the west as well. The west could be any place west from Japan.
they literally say theyre going to the divine dragons birth place in the west (or something along those lines)
Joshua Scott
Correct, the divine dragon aka SAKURA dragon is a gigantic cherry tree with the spirit of a very Chinese styled dragon.
Everything is "the west" to Japan. Including Korea and China, the places that are incestuously close to ancient Japanese culture and customs of which the Sakura Dragon is part of.
Charles Sanders
He was immortal like Kuro. Tomoe was immortal like Sekiro
Oh, he was the one who wrote about Severance. I know Tomoe suicided but i dont remember how he died.
Jonathan Williams
I doesn't look particularly Spanish either.
James Wood
They think that just because robert's dad says Roberuto in jap they're spaniards but don't realize that is the way Robert is spelled in katakana.
Luis Martin
>ROBERTOOOOOOoooooo.....
Tyler White
>Being THIS retarded
Joshua Nelson
The helmet doesnt look European or am I being dumb? The rest is euro tho
Lincoln Brooks
>Do you think Owl was always an asshole, or did he get seduced by Immortality? Always an asshole, he just grabbed an autistic war-orphan he saw as a potential asset and decided to train him. The fucker kept sekiro so goddamn isolated that he didnt know you're supposed to cook rice before eating it.
>Why the hell does Isshin fight you at the end, despite helping you throughout the whole game? Was it the will of Genichiro? Did he just want a good fight? A good fight and fufilling his grandson's dying wish as a matter of honor, which happened to be the same thing since he had to go through you in order to do it.
>In the "true" ending, Kuro gets absorbed (?) by the Divine Child, and then her and Sekiro go o a Journey to the West. What's up with that? She basically has two souls in one body now.
Had his head chopped off with the mortal blade, i think.
Ethan Rivera
Tomoe only tried to suicide because she gave Takeru the dragonrot. Tomoe is such a multi-level failure it's almost funny.
Roberto sounds like a chinese/eastern name to you?
Zachary Jones
>she gave Takeru the dragonrot. She did?
Easton James
Dumb fucking moron. Firecrackers work great against the bull boss. Matadors fight bulls in Spain.
Roberto and his Armored Dad are from Spain. Dont @ me retard
Christopher Sanders
the west is India, as that is the OG west in journey to the west, get outta here with your poverty moor shit
>visiting the sex template with the loli
Henry Wright
Couldn't the West be literally anywhere?
Wyatt Reyes
Robert does, japs never end words with consonants besides 'n', Robaato translates to Robert. Learn your jap. It also works great with chickens, dogs, horses, monkeys and fish dogs.
Bentley Ross
India is west from China. China is west from Japan. Chinese Dragon comes from China.
Connor Moore
A japanese, korean or chinese named Robert? That's more ok to you than a portuguese or spanish man named Robert/Roberto? Ok man, whatever.
Xavier Sullivan
He's an european knight or whatever, I thought it was obvious considering From's track record with Souls. This spanish theory is the most outlandish shit i've read of this game.
Takeru had the dragons blood like kuro. Tomoe tried to suicide so that takeru wouldn't have to kill himself. She failed and presumeably kept trying different methods because she ended up giving a shit load of people the dragonrot who all died from it.
Robert Gomez
She really sucked, not even Lady Maria was this big of a failure. >die so much you cause widespread plague in Ashina >even give your own immortal divine master dragonrot >this ruins plans for divine severence >can't even kill herself
Fortunately she succeeded at dying in the end but probably because Takeru died of dragonrot. Immortal Severance died in its crib RIP
I wouldn’t call him an asshole, at least not fully. He’s just an opportunist who wants strength more than anything. Kinda like a semi-opposite version of Isshin.
Evan Perez
>outlandish helmet. dumb cunt
Jacob Russell
Well we're not sure if it was dragonrot but Takeru did eventually catch some kind of sickness which is likely what killed him, we know from Emma that dragonrot was guaranteed death back then although it's never shown to effect those of divine heritage. Honestly there is still quite a bit in the air surrounding those two despite all the notes we get from them, guess we are waiting for that dlc
Elijah Davis
His helmet resembles a "Conquistador".
Jordan Lee
The Portuguese traded with Japan during that period (Nanban trade period) and several of the Tenchu games even feature hilariously caricatured Portuguese sailors as enemies so there's plenty of precedent Please don't be so confident while being so ignorant
Andrew Butler
Mistranslation, the original text says 南蛮 which refers to Spain.
Jaxon Hall
That's ridiculous, if any illness could kill a divine child it would be fucking dragonrot. Not the Common Japanese Cold as devastating as it is. Furthermore Tomoe thought she could cure him by severing the Dragon's Heritage, that's not a cure for mundane illness. It's fucking obvious he got Dragonrot.
Jonathan Rodriguez
Yes, rice loli is pregnant with Kuro. The whole "cradle" bbitbbit clearly implied this.
Wyatt Hill
>Robaato translates to Except his name isn't ロバート, retard
Noah Torres
not literally pregnant. magic pregnant. there is no biological baby in her
Logan Flores
On another note, i know it's not same universe but the whole divine dragon thing could be easily tied to Souls if you push a little. Dragons, lighting faith magic, immortality, trees, undying. It's all there but in an eastern coat of paint.
Grayson Diaz
The Isshin that you fight at the end is the spirit version of him at his peak. He’s not fighting you out of malice but rather because the dude just loves a good fight and what better time then now when he’s at his full strength and against the guy he finds respectably strong.
Yeah they didn’t explained on why Kuro needs to be inside the Divine Child to travel to the aforementioned location. Maybe the place they are going to needs him to be protected by a vessel or some shit. Whatever the case is it was a definitely a DLC/sequel bait.
Sebastian Gutierrez
Where do you think Spain is?
Ayden Scott
>be Vaati >steal every halfassed theory from Yea Forums
Benjamin Barnes
retard
James Lopez
retard
Xavier Stewart
Well a lot considering Genichiro was the one who summoned him in hopes that Super Sayian Gramps would fight back the ministry. Instead the dude just wants one more fight before fucking off back to the afterlife. Kinda like how Oda was in Nioh.
Tyler Hall
He says something like "Pathetic grandson, so this was your final wish?" He's insulting Genichiro not for rezzing him but rather what he wordless wished for and I think its very likely that magic zombie Isshin has to fulfil that wish. That wish was not merely "Save Ashina" or do you think Isshin would have been disgusted by that? Likely it was "Kill Wolf" Perhaps Isshin would have been free to do what he liked afterward, I don't know. It could have been that Wolf's victory here doomed Ashina.
Caleb Harris
>mfw retards claiming that the armored warriors is "obviously" European
Robert is a mistranslation. Robert in katakana is ロバート, while the name of the kid is written ロバト, which is the Spanish/Portugese name Lobato. Refer to: フアン・ホセ・ロバト (Juan Jose Lobato)
>the English version of the game says that they came from "the west". This is a mistranslation: The Japanese version clearly states in the firecracker description that they are 南蛮/Nanban en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanban_trade
>nanban trade Which is... oh, boy, traders from the west.
Justin Clark
Good, because I was a little bit upset that we didn’t get to see William going full Ken-sama back in England.
Kevin Bell
>One everlasting dragon goes east >Stops at some island >Religion is built around him
Christian Cox
What was even killing her? Did she just keep getting filtered by Senpou monks?
Luis Campbell
God it sucks that Activision fucked up the translation. Really makes it that much more difficult to theorize on the already vague lore.
Souls had a little bit of this problem but it wasnt based on an already established mythology such a Japanese Buddhism
Charles Williams
>"it's not european or spanish" >"the name is obviously spanish or portuguese" >uses term that was used for europeans and portuguese
Hunter Sanders
Tomoe was a video games journalist, she stood no chance It's almost like it was deliberate though, floating passage is a shit combo, the lightning attacks get everyone completely fucking wrecked with almost minimal effort it's absurd. Then we read up on her and it's an endless string of humiliating failure. I can't think of a more sadly comical figure in all Soulsbourne
Zachary Price
He joins the band of invisible children that only her and Taro can see
Evan Baker
>lighting faith magic I wish Miyazaki-san would stop being racist against faith builds already, it's no longer funny.
Matthew Johnson
Who are the fountainhead gods from which lighting attacks originate from? Buddha?
Jack Rogers
>responding to the tryhard pseudo-JOP who doesn't even have 40% comprehension of English, let alone Japanese
Hudson Lee
everything in this game is japanese buddism user
Ryder Hughes
also fountainhead is apparently a mistranslation (among many other things)
Robert Thompson
?Fountainhead Palace -> Minamoto Palace. This is a little difficult. The Japanese character "源” is both the title of a famous Noble house in Japanese (The Minamoto Clan) and the term for a spring or source of water. So there's a double entendre here, where the Palace both belongs to the clan and is also the source of the waters. The fact that it's a royal house is important to the story, and explains why Ashina isn't very hands-on with them and why they're so isolated from the rest of the world. Japanese History nerds will also notice the extreme Heian influences in the Minamoto architecture. I've chosen to leave the term as Fountainhead when they're explicitly referring to a source of water (Fountainhead Waters) and change it to Minamoto when referring to the location or the people who reside there.
William Brooks
Because the divine dragon looks like a chinese dragon and the sword he's wielding is chinese/korean in origin.
John Reyes
What if buddha is the Divine Dragon?
Luis Foster
The Okami Warriors also wear armor prevalent in drawings from the Heian period.
Mason Brown
I wonder how many shitty lore youtubers are reading this thread right now

If you'll ever get grabbed by cat claws you'll know not to pull back since that just makes the nails claw in deeper, it's hard for them to retract their nails even if they wanted to.
Isaiah Wilson
It's actually K*rea. The seven-branched sword the divine dragon holds is k*rean.
>give Isshin Dragonspring sake >he recounts his peaceful days where literally everyone was gathered to do sakura watching and drinking the days away >Sculptor, Emma, Genichiro, Tomoe, Takeru, even Owl and even Lady Butterfly were there >and then you see how Owl and Lady Butterfly decide to fuck everything up All he wanted was to master the way of the fucking sword and drink with his friends. Owl/Butterfly are cunts.
Jacob Gutierrez
Who is the dead qt at the dragon shrine?
Ian Phillips
Probably some offering from Mibu Village to the dragon. The Cave that leads to Fountainhead is called "Marriage Cave" or something in that vein.
Luis Davis
tomoe
Nolan Bennett
*crack* *sips dragonspring sake* yup they don't make samurai like they used to
Luis Ortiz
also Korean dragons have four fingers (like the divine dragon) while Japanese have three and Chinese five
It's Korean (or maybe Chinese if they wanted to be loose), it's a fucking Asian dragon with a seven branched sword (which is ugly as shit but that's besides the point), and look at what's west of Japan on a fucking map.
He faked his own death before he tries to steal theories, he's channeling Owl and getting in character
Joshua Gomez
They probably fucked like monkeys Also Orangutang went shura because he was sexually frustrated after Kingfisher got vored and Emma cunny was off limits
I killed the gay centipede nigger wretch in this temple but I don't know where to go after it. Was this optional? I thought I was going towards a real boss or sometihng.
Clearly Tomoe still looked human when she fucked off from Fountainhead before the blue drank turned everyone into fish people. You can see how Okami Warriors looked like before they turned into hunchbacks when you look at the Lightning Reversal scroll.
Nope, that graphic shows a hunchbacked alien Okami for a reason She's a fish bitch, cope Also very very dead so we'd see her in a memory at best and she's even more pathetic and forlorn than Maria and Ciaran combined
You people are brainlets. That armor is so obviously European, not even chinese steel has that colored finish. Fromsoft is too obsessed to let go.
Sebastian Edwards
Don't you think Isshin would have commented on her disgusting face and teeth and her lack of eyes (protip: they don't have eyes just empty sockets in Fountainhead)
Aiden Nguyen
I fought her right after gyoubu at like 2 attack power in NG so she was so much easier in ng+ even with hardmode modifiers. Fuck that stupid single fast swipe though, actually impossible to react to in time
Justin Baker
Have you full cleared Senpou? If not, continue up the mountain, Main Hall idol is a good indicator for that.
If you have full cleared Senpou, then you gotta go down and take care of monkey business

>"Oh hi, this is my friend Roberto Caballera de la Santa Madre" >"Where are you from Roberto?" >"China"

>Sekiro """"""lore"""""" I'd rather have a DkS3 lore thread than this
Blake Russell
She's "divine" and they wear masks. Not that Isshin gives a shit, he's probably gay or impotent and only cares about foightan. Go waifutard soemwhere else or accept your ayylmao monstrosity.
>she's even more pathetic and forlorn than Maria and Ciaran combined Prime Tomoe was as strong as Isshin if not even stronger. A memory of her would be whack.
Isaac Baker
You retards don’t even realize it is Spanish, but since they have been in the east for a while, they have added a few things to his armor to make it even more impenetrable. See It’s literally this armor but with a few additions from your posts.
Hunter Hall
>western armour >western sword >son's name is western >all lore about him points to him coming from he west >mask is similar to a Japanese one >"HE'S JAPANESE" Dumb nigger.
Isshin said that his prime is superior to hers in many ways, he said that he lost because he was distracted by her appearance
Cooper Carter
>DkS3 lore What lore, it's just thinly concealed passive aggressive complaining by Miyazaki about how he's lost control of his life
She died so much she depopulated Ashina with dragonrot. She taught everyone dumb moves that are the biggest achilles heels in the game. She got her own master sick and dead. There are many more interesting things than Tomoe.
Joshua Howard
>he's probably gay or impotent and only cares about foightan. He specificially commented on her eyes.
>Go waifutard soemwhere else >waifutards his ayylmao fetish into Tomoe
Hunter Torres
He would say that.
Jaxon Davis
Bro, even the wikipedia description for that image said that it was inspired by european design
John Ortiz
Yes he admired her intense fighting spirit I hate to say it but have sex
Christian Wood
Pretty sure it’s Korea
William Rivera
DLC we get will not be post-game content, so she won't be as strong as Isshin. She can get close, however.
Adrian Rodriguez
All Soulsborne DLC has been significantly tougher than the base game so I don't know what you're smoking Most of us don't have trouble with Isshin at all anymore and the Japs will fucking riot if we don't get something harder
Joshua Nguyen
He got sucked in by her eyes Okami Warriors and Nobles don't have eyes ???? Profit
Josiah Garcia
In-game difficulty != in-lore powerlevel. Lore-wise she will not be stronger than Isshin.
Oliver Howard
I suppose that's true, there's no fucking way Owl is the second most powerful man in Ashina
John Robinson
Do you retards seriously not realise that Spain/Portugal IS Europe? What fucking school did you go to?

Connor Green
>Tomoe is a videogame journalist
Man this lore is deep, how does Miyazaki keep usurping himself
Ayden Williams
hes better because he actually speaks japanese and catches the mistranslations
William Wilson
Maybe they can't let go the series that brought them more acknowledgment
>we can't talk about lore because youtubers will make video out of it why talking about anything anymore at this point we should only post funneh meems and troll each other amirite fellow redpilled wojak poster?
Are you aware that Portugal/Spain were one of the few countries making deals/trying to convert nips in that period?
Jaxon Scott
I can't stand to listening to droning youtubers and their padded out vids, what are the key takeaways
Jose Lewis
owl did nothing wrong
Asher Peterson
>He's an european knight or whatever >This spanish theory is the most outlandish shit i've read of this game. I bet this fucking mutt thinks "Spanish" means from south America because that's where "they speak Spanish".
Maybe he just got a Japanese mask because... he is in Japan, you know...
It's almost like William from Nioh wears Japanese armors despite being from the UK.
Ayden Young
god the lore is so shit in this game compared to Souls or Bloodborne.
Owen Nelson
From what I've seen the mask and the helmet are Japanese like these pic , but the rest of the armor are full body conquistador armor.
Ryder Thomas
>china The irony of you calling everyone retarded, lmao. It’s Korea dickweed.
Grayson Williams
I hope Japanese racism prevents the sequel from taking place in China or Korea Also Wolf is really fucking dull, they fucked up naming the game after him

wow there, lets not get aHEAD of ourselves now
Jack Evans
what about the cute blue girl at the dragon's altar
Nathan Flores
Buddhism has a boring mythology. Only cool thing is Asura (Shura)
Owen Cook
The lore in these games has always been shit and never the highlight of it.
Are you implying lore in Souls or Bloodborne was ever good?
Wyatt Evans
>been shit and never the highlight of it. >what is bloodborne
Landon Evans
yes and 100% better than shitiro
Eli James
Now that I look at him in CGI I understand that Sekiro is not supposed to be manlet but the game models specifically made bigger for him to make it easier fight. Looking at CGI shows that Adult wolf would be around the same height as Owl.
Zachary Peterson
A game that is not appealing to people because you can read about Ludwig's toejam in an item description.
Stop being weebs. Game setting came AFTER game mechanics where they found the setting was appropriate. You can't just say "I would want a new game in [place I weeb about] that'd be amazing!" because that's shit game design.
Isaiah Reed
I just got to the chained ogre, and I can't quite figure out the timing with the grabs. what's the best way to avoid them?
Sebastian Thomas
Journey to the West, divine dragon uses ancient Chinese sword.
Oliver Sullivan
Run away.
Charles Adams
>Stop speculating speculating what I don't like weeb! Soulsborne fag seething everyone
Gabriel Robinson
Nobody is talking about game mechanics, retard. Another Sekiro game would obviously keep the Sekiro mechanics in it. People can like the aesthetics of a game as well as the mechanics in it.
Jonathan Young
Jump or run away. Don't step dodge.
Carson Kelly
Korean.
Jace Jones
actually retarded
Cameron Barnes
Kuon or Otogi are the 300IQ picks, FS is extremely good at Jap settings. What I really don't want is more dreary generic medieval Europe or Lovecraft tentacle shit.
Where does the game refer to things related to Armored Warrior and Robert as from the west? I can't remember seeing that.
Jackson Perry
It says from the south actually. Aussie confirmed.
James Brown
retard
James Long
I just got a fucking nightmare flashback to the Octopus fight in Last Raven
Levi Roberts
does jumping have generous i-frames for all/most attacks, or is mostly used for movement and grab dodging? the tutorial mentioned how different dodges are better for different moves, but I'm still trying to figure out how far the mechanics stretch.
Jaxon Adams
post emma lewds!
Bentley Stewart
Nearly no i-frames. The long grab has a ridiculous range, that's why jumping above him and jumping again will result in an "attack" that's purely posture damage and negates you from getting grabbed. If he does the short grab just get distance. Don't rely on i-frames even if there are some.
Ayden Gutierrez
That's what I thought it said, I remember that on the prayer necklaces. Every time the west was mentioned it was in relation to China I think, like with the umbrella.
Samuel Turner
I wouldn't say no to that. Or a decent Transylvania setting but that would probably be too similar to BB/DS.
>very Chinese styled dragon With a legendary Korean Sword.
John Rodriguez
MODS
Michael Myers
You mean a legendary Imperial Japanese sword, appearing with a Sakura Dragon, the flower that is most representative of Japan itself. It was a gift from a king of a kingdom that was on the Korean peninsula, but the sword is part of Japanese myth.
Henry James
DLC will actually give us decent LORE and story to sift through, as usual.
expecting chynese setting
Easton Jenkins
What's happening here.
Levi Ortiz
Gourd Seed creation
Leo Peterson
Sucking the seed outta his dick, gettit?
David Thompson
The healing gourd is actually filled with Kuro's cum. That's why Wolf drinks it all the time.

I mean, there are katanas in Dark Souls games as well
Dominic Davis
But that's gay...
Elijah Thompson
>Don't rely on i-frames even if there are some. Sound advice but >occasionally go retard and dodge when I should have jumped a sweep >get super lucky and i-frame it I should be dead but I'm not. Go me.
Adrian Thomas
So Sekiro and BB take place in the same universe right? >all this immortal fuckery came from Dragon's blood >Dragon is an immortal being that can't even be killed with mortal blade >game also states that Dragon came from the west This pretty much confirms that Divine Dragon is one of Bloodborne's elder gods.
Juan Brown
No.
Angel Taylor
Can't wait for the Vaati video
Jaxon Mitchell
No.
Blake Hall
Hey guys, Vaati here with another 100% original lore theory I didn't find shat out on Yea Forums ha ha...
Nolan Ward
>can't even be killed with mortal blade Isn't that precisely what you do in one of the endings?
Josiah Nelson
Dead woman leaning against grave that teleports you to the divine realm where the dragon is that the game mentions Takeru brought with him.
Jackson Moore
She isn't dead.
Jackson Reed
Tomoe is one of the fishpeople. That's why she knew lighting attacks. That was probably some unnamed last sacrifice/bride for the dragon.
Bentley Stewart
>No. Not an argument.
Brayden Lewis
>So Sekiro and BB take place in the same universe right? No.
Nathaniel Fisher
Vaati, who is the Tengu? He seems like he might know Isshin. Is he one of Isshin's elite shinobi? Where does he go at the end?
William Hernandez
Just beat elite ashina do I do genichiro now or other places. Cause I heard you need to get an item before killing him to get the best ending
Cameron Peterson
I feel like the palace citizens only start turning into the fishpeople only when they stay at the Palace/drink the fountainhead waters. Tomoe probably looks like a normal ara ara
Matthew Carter
You don't need an argument to refute something so plainly false.
Grayson Hill
That's later. You can defeat Genichiro anytime, he gates a part of the game.
James Wilson
I think if you're immortal there, you become it because it seems it's more related to a pact with the dragon than the water. The water immortality is the centipede one, since it's infested. Also like some other user posted, she looks like one of them in the drawing about her combat art.
Grayson Davis
>no Buddha's Palm technique
Ethan Carter
Isshin says she was hot as fuck and he probably isn't into fish people.
Grayson Robinson
I just started playing the game, it's pretty alright so far.
Can someone please tell me how to get the "true ending" or about any decisions to make which will set me on a gimped path?
I don't care about spoilers but I keep seeing "the true way to complete" the game.
No. Fuck off and play the game, you big, dumb faggot.
Angel Mitchell
>chose this ending
Tyler Brown
No, thanks. I appreciate your concern about my genuine experience of the game without spoiling myself. I will just end up looking it up in the end anyway.
No he doesnt. She moved graciously and you could lose yourself in the depth of her eyes or something related.
Fish people have holes instead of eyes (you could get sucked into those) and if you look the enemies in fountainhead, they're all doing some dances and "yoga" on their spare time. So yeah, she knew the moves.
Cameron Miller
You need to have a Persimmon in your inventory, talk to the rice loli until she's not feeling well and feed her, then go swimming in Senpou to find a book about centipedes and give it to her, then get 2 snake hearts and give them to her. Then progress the game before the point of no return and see her, she'll give you "fine snow" and that's how you know how to get the true ending. It's easy if you have OCD like I do. Every time I beat a boss I revisit every area except the hub because usually something happens in the hub, which would be Ashina Castle in this case, then after I've searched everywhere else I go to the HUB. I also speak to all the NPCs
Angel Mitchell
Hoping for something like that in the DLC, although the monk stuff come close.
Jeremiah Morgan
So, I was getting confused and reading up on shit, but still kinda confused about the Hirata memory timeline. The bell belonged to Kuro, so you're experiencing Memory 1 as seen from Kuro's perspective? He sees the death of Owl, and how Wolf saved him from Butterfly, which earned him the dragonblood. Memory 2 with Owl's bell would then be from his perspective, supposedly feigning death, heading to the hidden room and defeating Butterfly(?), which is why he's in the room instead when you get there. He doesn't even talk about stabbing you or express any surprise, as though it's the first time you entered the room. I'm just confused about the order of events because you did fight Butterfly and got backstabbed which earned you the immortality, but came back to fight Father. Also Juzou appears both times
Samuel Clark
I decided to explore ashina reservoir first and I met another boss called lone shadow swordsman
Brayden Martin
Defeat him. You can mikiri counter his perilous kick.
Jaxon Gomez
Also I sent this big dude here to the surgeon below, though the surgeon feels suspicious
Colton Martinez
>In the "true" ending, Kuro gets absorbed (?) by the Divine Child, and then her and Sekiro go o a Journey to the West. What's up with that? It's not Kuro that got absorbed. Kuro's dead for good. It's the dragon itself. The return ending is literally about returning the dragon back to its roots, which lie in the west, and rise loli even says she will become the craddle to transport it.
Evan Miller
You mean "divine dragon palm techique"
Adrian Ramirez
You got it mostly right. It's confusing but one thing is certain, Wolf WAS there, he DID get stabbed and Wolf DID get the ability to resurrect there and then. The Owl Bell is just fuckery because it didn't happen with Wolf's involvement. Also, Owl has some dialogue which I don't actually know how to trigger during his fight which says Wolf became something different.
>Cause I heard you need to get an item before killing him to get the best ending This is not true. You can still get access to the endings after Genichiro, the way you get the item is just different. Instead of getting some Lore from an NPC, you find the book at the bottom of a small body of water and the NPC himself isn't anywhere to be found.
Chase Thompson
wow, i was literally at this castle last week.
Carter Walker
It's ok. If you don't send him he doesn't have a happy ending anyway.
There is no indication that Kuro is dead, and the Divine Child's dialogue suggests that he is not.
David Williams
Yea thanks just beat him. So should I do genichiro first or get this item first? The dungeons looks scary ngl. Also is this actually the best ending or is the normal one better. I thought I could send him to the merchant desu
Levi Cooper
The fat monk can be sent but not the guy near the reservoir entrance. I don't know why since he's a big fucker.
Jordan Gomez
i see people mention 3 forms of immortality. theres bugs, theres blood, but what's number 3?
"pure" fountainhead waters that make you a bluey fishy folk
Asher Hughes
>...That's my boy. ; _ ;
Mason Cooper
im a brainlet, sorry
Nathan Adams
It's not clear if Genichiro is infested or not. He drank the Fountainhead water's sediment, which seems to be the origin of the red eyes and a form of immortality. The mist nobles and Okami warrior women also seem to be immortal, though the nobles have gone insane with lust for youth.
Daniel Turner
Anyone know what the fuck is up with the centipedes and immortality?
Adam Stewart
>So should I do genichiro first or get this item first? The dungeons looks scary ngl. Also is this actually the best ending or is the normal one better. Explore everywhere first, if you want. Beating Genichiro only makes changes to a few areas because the "time of day" changes. The scariest thing is yet to come. The endings are like Silent Hill 2; none are particularly good for the characters involved, but there's one that is considered better than the rest.
He seems pretty happy in the Illusory Hall
Fat guy can be sent to 3 places; merchant, surgeon and Illusory Hall Samurai can be sent to the surgeon or you can follow his quest, just interact with him everytime you seem him to progress him.
Zachary Johnson
They somehow got into the Fountainhead waters and began to feed on the immortal carps. They are in turn ingested by other living things which they burrow into and grant a form of immortality.
Luke Peterson
I'm guessing the true one is the best of em all
Nolan Baker
Yeah, sorta.
Jeremiah King
I was talking about the warrior guy who you can find at the reservoir entrance, not the fat monk which you can use divine abduction on. Only the fat monk can be sent to the merchant as far as I know. And the warrior guy doesn't really have a happy ending even if you don't send him to the surgeon.
Andrew Murphy
Why do shitty eyesight genetics fags seem to be attracted to this game? I have, quite literally, never seen "the enemies are big because it's hard to see normal size enemies!" in any other game threads. But with Sekiro the threads are full of retards saying that the enemies are big because it's too hard to see regular sized enemies. I can see normal sized enemies perfectly fine and parry them and my eyesight isn't perfect. What a stupid fucking explanation for the abundance of large enemies. At least be creative and come up with an interesting lore-related reason, because your reason is objectively wrong.
Third form is Mist Noble which it's not clear how it works but it may be related to becoming a dragon itself after enough time and drinking the good water.
Brandon Scott
The reply chain suggests I was talking about both and I made it clear which ones I was talking about. 6065 is talking about the fat monk.
learn game design dumbass, this shit has been done since Punch Out!! for a reason
William Richardson
Well she is master of Genichiro, she taught him how to be ultimate loser.
Aiden Murphy
Bros remember the big headless ape that you fight the 2nd time before the Hidden Forest? Let me get this straight. The first time I killed him and stole his only gift (flower) for his future girlfriend. He was so mad because without that gift he knew he would be a virgin forever. Then we fight him the 2nd time. Did we slaughter his child above the arena and his girlfriend both right in front of his eyes, then kill him AGAIN to add insult to injury? Sekiro cucked the NEET ape lmao.
It took me 6 playthroughs to find out that Doujun and Dousaku were two personalities in one body It only hit me after I watched the past couple eps of Jojo
Evan Brooks
The item you get from his quest spells it out.
Angel Collins
>Isshin "Kill them all Sekiro. Slaughter them all. Here's a plethora of lethal sword techniques that you can learn. I'll reward you with more if you slaughter so many beings that you master this book! Now excuse me Sekiro, while I commit genocide against these 'rats'." >Also Isshin "Shura are those who kill relentlessly. You are in danger of becoming one Sekiro. Don't give me reason to kill you or I will. Never forget that." Shut the fuck up you hypocritical senile old coot. I'll poison your Sake and teabag your face your deplorable alcoholic. Seriously, what the fuck is this dude's logic?
If you go back and watch the first trailer, there's a scene where centipedes surround someone who wears a mask. I don't remember that ever happening in the game. What's that about?
Looks like one of the high priests from Senpou Temple. Might have been just a cinematic for a reveal. Maybe they thought about creating a boss or mini boss out of it.
Samuel Gomez
That's the way of the Shinobi.
Ryder Torres
yeah, fodder shits. Even the Lone Shadows are bigger than you for a reason
David Myers
tomoe is a woman retard
Gavin Price
>ranting about boss enemy size in a Miyazaki/From/Soulsbornkiro game Is this your first or something?
Brayden Butler
Why do Ashina soldiers want to kill you again? You're clearly in good graces with Emma and Isshin, besides gameplay reasons, why do they keep attacking you on sight despite the fact they have no reason to after Genichirou croaks?
Angel Hughes
Sekiro literally only killed those who attacked him first (or would if they saw him before he backstabbed them). I have killed 0 innocent people in the game. Every single human, creature, and other entity that I've killed has attacked me on sight with no provocation on my part, or they would do so if I didn't sneak up and slice them first. Isshin kills to take and retain personal power. Wolf kills to obey the Iron Code, obey his master, and protect literally the most important kid on the planet.
Sebastian Cox
Yeah, that coul be it. Might also be the corrupted monk. But the eyes seem to be coloured red, which is weird.
Josiah Brooks
You already have a bad reputation with Ashina soldiers before the game starts, eavesdropping on soldiers in the first area of the game shows this
Matthew Carter
That means that he has lost his humanity. He has drank from the waters of rejuvenation or is naturally a demon.
Jackson Cooper
After Genichiro you barely fight any Ashina soldier. The castle starts getting invaded little by little. Also it's the shinobi that killed a billion of them some hours ago.
Jacob Baker
Isshin told that she was beautiful, and i belive him.
I mean, they call you a retard dumped in a sewer, they're not far from the truth
Elijah Garcia
Not corrupted Monk. You can find one of those with white robes in the room after the first idol where 3 other monks are kneeled before him.
What? No.
Carson Sanchez
They say something like Sekiro is pathetic because he failed his master and lost his will to live. Then he regained his will to live, saved his master, slaughtered the condescending fucks, AND killed their own master Genichero. That's more than enough to regain his reputation.
Kevin Long
Did he? Are you sure this is a depiction of beauty or he was just impressed by the nature of her style and looks?
Elijah Long
Red eyes means demon or drank from fountain of rejuvenation. As evidenced by Genichero and all demons with red eyes.
Michael Taylor
Anyone have a video of sekiro regaining his youth by eating one of the palace noble?
Caleb Robinson
Orphan of kos was been stronger than Gherman and Gael was tougher than soul of cinder. I dont even been talk about Gwym and Nasandra.
Sebastian Lewis
So is the plot of this game that a bunch of burly old men want the bodily fluids of a nubile young boy and (You) have to stop them?
Robert Butler
Why not?
Dominic Morales
Yeah, it's probably one of the priests. I went to senpou temple and examined one of then up close. You can see smaller centipedes crawling on his face, exactly as within the trailer
No. More like one young man wants the bodily fluids of said boy, but said boy has a stubborn body. Boy wants to get rid of his fluids so his slave travels the country collecting exotic items so that the boy can get high off incense, relax and release said fluids.
Butterfly is at least a full foot taller than Wolf, as are all the random mook soldiers. There are literally 3 characters in the game that are smaller than him. 2 are children and the other is a very sleight woman.
Wolf is canonically a manlet.
Nathaniel Clark
No, that's Tomoe's mother. The dragon is her father.
Alexander Parker
good catch i was wondering who the fuck that was
non-waifu faggots btfo
Levi Jones
Red lump makes you temporarily a demon, or at least gives you some of their power. I can't tell if you're dumb or just missed a major plot point. Red eyes literally means that you've lost your humanity due to drinking from the fountain of rejuvenation, or that you never had humanity in the first place because you're a demon.
I don't know but why are her feet naked? What a slut.
Charles Sanders
Drinking from water makes you immortal, that's it. Some water comes with centipedes, pure water don't. It doesn't have to do with demons.
Luis Lopez
Tomoe is a fish. That's not Tomoe.
Joseph Bell
>In the "true" ending, Kuro gets absorbed (?) by the Divine Child, and then her and Sekiro go o a Journey to the West. What's up with that?
They gotta go to America because like every other problem in the world only an American is smart enough to fix it.
Jordan Martinez
Bro when you first defeat Genichiro on top of the castle he IMMEDIATELY GAINS RED EYES AFTER REVIVING. There's like 30 seconds of dramatic buildup, his hair moves, and boom he has red eyes. You then learn that this is a side effect of shedding your humanity after drinking from the fountain.
Jaxon Peterson
What about the old women in dojo.
Do they even attack you or alert others?
Dominic Richardson
Help
I've traded all of his items for carp scales and he's still complaining. What do I do?
He gets to live in peace with all the other Divine Children, and he has that NEET monk to keep him company. Beats becoming a red-eyed monster or dying against Ministry troops.
James Price
Jesus he eats then? I thought he just struggled to hack them with his sword. I only got enfeebled once and it was tense as shit. Whi would have thought the most nerve-wracking part of the game would be two weak hobbling old guys desperatly trying to fight each-other in slow motion?
Aiden Hernandez
Sekiro has 100% white traits too.
Benjamin Cox
At first it seemed like Genichiro wanted immortality from Kuro, that's why he kidnapped him and asked to be his servant. But after you defeat him it turns out Genichiro is already immortal. Why does he not use that immortality to save Ashina then? Why does he fight Sekiro who's just minding his own business. How is Sekiro hindering Ashina in the conflict?
What this meme about the fountainhead waters making you immortal? I doesn't. At all. All of the nobles are able to be killed without using the black blade, unlike the centipede priests, the headless ape, the zombies near the surgeon, or Hanbei the Undying. The grandma at the fountainhead even kills a whole room of nobles and they stay dead even after resting.
The form of immortality that Genichiro has is imperfect and he wants the true dragon blood instead. The game spells out that all forms of immortality are imperfect and lead to disaster, but Genichiro believes that it can save Ashina from its certain doom.
Aaron Brown
He basically rips his energy out of them the same way the Nobles feed on the Okami. Incidentally, I found that jumping to make them miss their lunge and then trying for a prone deathblow was the best way to try and kill them to cure yourself.
Michael Hill
It's the "sediment", some sort of concentrated version of the waters of rejuvenation.
The grandma in fountainhead calls it "immortality". So it's not a meme when the own game calls it that. They might be killable without the mortal blade, but they live forever and the water is their nectar.
noun 1. matter that settles to the bottom of a liquid; dregs.
Logan Gray
Red mortal blade: ultimate life taker.
Black mortal blade: ultimate life giver.
The black mortal blade can return people from the dead with some blood, Genichiro used his own to bring gramps back. Since his final wish was the restoration of Ashina Isshin had to follow the orders, so he had to kill you even though he didn't really want to.
Jace Howard
Biologically immortal. Not invulnerable immortal like infested or dragon hrirs blood.
Jacob Wood
Or maybe he wanted the immortality for Isshin who would never drink the water. After he died there was no other way but to bring him back. She mentions they seek eternal youth, nobles probably never die of old age, but can be killed by force
Austin Flores
Ie: dirtmud.
Charles Flores
MADA MADA
Logan Flores
If you interact with her after defeating the divine dragon, you get a message saying "the shrine maiden is sleeping." Also, the story tells you that Tomoe is buried next to Takeru in the Old Grave location.
Nathaniel Lee
>She mentions they seek eternal youth She says explicitly something like "they promissed him immortality". I don't remember if it's the stabby one or when you're asked to kill the carp. But i played through this yesterday so they do call it immortality.
Charles Rivera
Immortality is a bit different from invulnerability, though.
Ethan Brown
So i killed them with the mortal blade, why are the respawning after you rest?
>mist nobles are immortal They cant be, you can kill them without mortal blade, but monks in temple need mortal blade finisher. Clearly one of them is immortal and one isnt.
Lucas Martinez
There are different forms of immortality. The mist nobles are immortal like the carp is immortal, they live forever unless they are killed.
William Edwards
Why does literally ANYTHING respawn after you rest? The game has a lot of mechanics carried from Souls that don't make anymore because they can't go "TIME IN ASHINA IS CONVOLUTED."
Adrian Turner
>there are people commenting on Sekiro lore who do not know what Journey To The West is
Did Isshin took the rejuvenating waters? What is Genichiro talking about when he says "Ashina's long night comes to an end"? What's the lore behind the Guardian Ape and who struck him with that sword? Were Takeru and Tomoe banished from the Fountainhead Palace because they took a branch of the Everblossom? Was that branch the arm of the Divine Dragon? What does the Divine Heir essentially inherit? Why is the stage where we fight the Divine Dragon in a land completely different from Ashina (weird geography with several gigantic sakura trees)?
>Obviously So that means Takeru and Tomoe fought with the Dragon and ripped his arm off, just for the sake of nostalgia?
Carter Hall
Holy shit, this speed reading. >Did Isshin took the rejuvenating waters? No. >What is Genichiro talking about when he says "Ashina's long night comes to an end"? Isshin has been brought back feom the dead, in his prime, via the black mortal blade to turn back the invaiders as he did in the past. Ashina will soon be secured as a free land again. >What's the lore behind the Guardian Ape and who struck him with that sword? Presumably Kingfisher, before getting fucked up. >Were Takeru and Tomoe banished from the Fountainhead Palace because they took a branch of the Everblossom? Owl plucked the branch and flower of the everblossom. It's why defeating him grants you those items.
Ryder Fisher
Takeru took everblossom from divine realm and owl took it aterwards. They said that the tree was behind a castle.
Parker Collins
Firecracker description
Thomas Brown
No, sekiro = real life japan. Dark Souls = fantasy.
Liam Russell
But it says south, not west.
Carter Cruz
Probably so. Sculptor's name was Orangutan
Jason Bell
They mean the south of Europe.
Angel Perez
Is Owl literally just japanese Big Boss?
Jayden Collins
So is the divine dragon dead? Like it wasn't clear after you get the dragon tears.
Levi Carter
>Firecrackers from across southern seas. Not from southern Europe, from southern seas, meaning the seas south of Japan where the European traders seemed to have come from.
reminder that Isshin says of owl >despite his size, his face would turn red after the first drop establishing that he is very big in universe and that basically you're a retarded faggot without the first clue of what you're talking about.
Luis Miller
Does Vaati actually make these threads or is it just a meme?
Adam White
Way to miss the point, 50IQ retard.
Tyler Walker
I'm right here dude
Cooper Rivera
He has his own subreddit now for that, but he did start by pretty much just reading posts from Yea Forums and /vg/ lore threads
Andrew Watson
Who the fuck thought it meant Europe or America fuckweed? Journey to the West is a story of travel from China to India. The setting of Japan could mean India, China, or Korea. Definitely not anything far west such as Europe, brainlet.
Jason Richardson
>english sub
Jack Jones
Also, there's no Immortality Severed after you gouge his eye, so I guess Sekiro just used the Mortal Blade to nick his skin.
Angel Moore
>The Butterfly was appointed by the Owl to serve as one of Wolf's teachers in Shinobi techniques. >One of Wolf's teachers in Shinobi techniques. So Owl and Butterfly aren't the only teachers Sekiro had?
>Analysis and archeology have suggested that the sword's origins lie in Jin Dynasty China in 369.[6] However, The sword's peculiar design - with the tip of the blade counting as the 'seventh' branch, is indicative of contemporary Korean tree-motifs.[7] Other examples of this motif include the Baekje Crown and the Silla Crown. If the weapon had indeed been produced in Korea, it would have represented one of the prime artistic accomplishments of Baekje swordsmithery.
Owen Sanders
>Analysis and archeology have suggested that the sword's origins lie in Jin Dynasty China in 369
Dominic Martin
>Owl and Butterfly supposedly taught Wolf >Wolf's arsenal only consists of basic sword swinging, blocking and parrying, basic stealth, jumping and dodging >no illusions, spirit animal, string manipulation, or ninja tools >Wolf has to learn everything himself by reading scrolls and having a prosthetic given to him by some sculptor They sure were terrible teachers
Austin Gray
They taught him the legendary shinobi art of hugging walls.
Dylan Ortiz
you got baited. thanks for the (you)s
Jeremiah Baker
>literally has to read a scroll to be taught how to slide into a crouch and kill an illusion to learn how to swim underwater Maybe Wolf is just a bad student.
Cooper Powell
are you fucking retarded?
Do you not understand how inclines work?
Oliver Jenkins
Don't listen to people who say it's for visibility. It's clearly for intimidation and character design.
Ryder Rogers
Do we ever get more info on their shinobi clan? Where is everyone else?
Daniel Thomas
In Koga and probably dissipating since their employment during the Sengoku period was coming to end with the unification of Japan by the Tokugawa Shogunate ("Interior Ministry") and the ensuing 200 years of peace time that followed.
Kevin Scott
>Why the hell does Isshin fight you at the end, despite helping you throughout the whole game? Was it the will of Genichiro? Did he just want a good fight?
Did you not pay attention to his characterization and the overall story?
Joshua Phillips
Hi Vaati
Anthony Cooper
Although, Owl, Butterfly, Orangutang and Kingfisher are all described as rogue shinobi so they presumably don't really have a 'clan' of their own. There's also the nightjar ninja that serve the Ashina.
Lincoln Ward
Don't forget the mysterious Tengu of Ashina. I hope we get more of him on the dlc.
Adam Hill
Hi remember to watch "The 20 things you missed in Ashina outskirts!".
Justin Williams
Are you joking? That's isshin, his arc is done.
Ryan Powell
Do you think Tengu is the leader of all of the shinobi in Ashina? Did he teach Owl? Or maybe Owl's plot was Tengu's all along and we'll finally face him in the DLC.
I know this isn’t a lore question but is it possible to get the Mortal Blade before even fighting Churo? Or before even being aware of the blade’s existence after fighting him?
Nathan Moore
Yeah, if you use the monkey skip at Senpou. There's a spot where you can fall through the world and end up in the Hall of Illusion with the monkey fight and you can get the Mortal Blade afterwards without fighting Genichiro.
Kevin Myers
Before Genichiro you can talk to the monk but there is no bell to go to the rice lady.
Connor Flores
well if you mean normally probably not. I went to mt kongo before fighting genichiro and i found a monk there and no bell to ring. If you mean by glitches ye if i'm not mistaken there is a skip in speedruns that allows you to fight the monkeys without ringing the bell.
Tyler Torres
Dude fire, ember and ashes lmao
Jordan Wilson
Don't the dark and something something about the deep.
Justin Adams
I think there's actually something to the theory that headless ape is moving like the centipedes. I mean the five stab lunges he does behave exactly like the centipede connected to the monks.
Zachary Fisher
Okay thanks, I was wondering if you could and possibly get unique dioalouge from Isshin and Kuro if you got it before hand but it seems not.
Daniel Ward
I thought part of the implication is they were worried how strong he'd get. Owl's memory says he longed for a true fight with him but then he backstabs you in Hiratta estate instead of fighting Wolf head on.
Owl is always pragmatic. He might want a true fight with Wolf, but if he can get what he wants without being in danger himself, he will always take the safer route.
Adrian Thompson
Also the black mortal blade
Evan Lopez
I always thought that he does it because he's almost certain Kuro would give Sekiro immortality. He certainly wouldn't give it to Owl so having your right hand man get it would suffice.
