Personally, Joker was my favorite simply for the timing and the fact that he was my most wanted character this time around, though I never thought he had a chance.
After the disappointment I had in the Smash direct, Joker saved all of my excitement for Smash Ultimate. I ended up really enjoying it when it released and loved all of the newcomers, but I probably would have gone into it with a more negative mindset if Joker didn't get revealed a mere hour before I played it.
Plus, after playing him, he's my new main and I love Mementos as a stage and, of course, all of the music.

The Best are Belmonts and Sakurai/team really love series put tons music but the other hand always think Cloud is probably the worst all Guest Character in roster.

He's iconic but in fact SE had biggest problem legal issues with copyright with own music and games... also obvious FF had only TWO music in stage and zero spirits or mii costume.

There's a PC Engine stage in the game with Pac Land. And some MSX2 music in the game from Snake. He's mostly known from SOTN but that game still uses the Rondo sprite with the Street Fighter-looking/superior design.
yeah it was totally different than waking up one day and seeing Sonic or Mega Man. Definitely was not expecting to hear a full blown remix of Divine Bloodlines on the morning of the Simon trailer either, bricks were shat.
Even though Banjo 1 and 2 were big when I was a kid I never got into collectathons, but I always like seeing retro characters get revived in smash with new music and all. I get the feeling they're gonna go with more modern characters for the DLC but that's just a hunch.

Honestly, Snake's is amazing just because it crossed the rubicon in regards to non-Nintendo characters, but it was fucking amazing back in the Brawl days to just one day check online and see Sonic was added. No fanfare, no buildup, just posted just like that.

That's just plain bias. I find the arcade Pac-Man to be not very fun even compared to other arcade games around in its time, but it's hard to deny his impact on gaming. Definitely more impactful than Ryu, Simon, and possibly Snake. Not to mention the Pac Man World games are actually pretty good

Despite Cloud being shafted in music and spirits I still say solely as a character he is much better than the garbage that is Sonic.

Sonic benefit so much from the character design team revisiting his special moves, if only they weren't so scared of erasing shit moves because they're 'iconic'

I thought Sakurai brought up Heihachi as one of the few Bandai Namco characters that could actually stand alongside (or at least respectably close to) Pac-Man as an icon. I never recall hearing him brought up in relation to Ryu aside from Mii Costume scenanigans, unless you’re referring to how Heihachi was brought up with the base roster while Ryu was DLC.

Ryu implementation to smash is absolutely fucking butchered. Sonic is incredibly annoying and literally two of his fucking specials are just charging to roll.

Bayonettas combos are sick as fuck now that she's below average. Cloud is solid, definitely not bad or mediocre. The only problem with Joker is that he gets heavily rewarded for getting his ass rammed in otherwise his combos are fucking sick too.

Bayonetta really needs some sort of minor buff now

She really does need more killing power. It's funny watching her do fucking ridiculous combos until 245% and then some faggot's back air kills her at 80%

I like Mega Man the most. He's got a lot of call backs to Mega Man 2, my favorite in the main series. Decent stage, good ATs, great music.
