Alt-right is hard to define outside of "advocates for white interests". I wouldn't really consider myself sympathetic to their cause but I understand that -- with many other groups seemingly lobbying against "whiteness", which is something those groups perceive as negative -- it has about as much right as any other identitarian group to exist. I'd prefer if we shifted away from race and sex as moral identities but that's not really the culture we live in at the moment. You'd probably have to ask an actual alt-right guy about it to get what they're all about, but I am under the assumption that they don't care much for laissez-faire capitalism.
