I took my dog to the vet one time, and this dude walks in with his shitty pit bull and gives a whistle and it instantly starts baring its fangs at me. I turn my head and see it less than a foot from me and say "Holy SHIT!" and this dude starts chewing me out saying I'm obviously not an animal lover because his dog was just smiling and I need to chill out. I tell him a dog showing his fangs is usually a sign its going to attack, and he really shouldn't make it do that to random strangers. He then scoffs and leaves without talking to anyone else or doing anything there. The receptionist said "Sorry, he just comes in and does that sometimes."
So basically, make horror games more like that.

I think games that leave you trapped and have some sort of consequence for dying makes the horror feel real. There's a guro game called demonphobia and every death is painful but in the end it's even worse when you realized all the deaths were real and your ghost buddy was just making you forget about them.

Amnesia was the only horror game I've played in the past decade where I felt actually anxious and rustled. It did a good job of not using jump scares and using non combative mechanics to make a good horror game in my opinion. I mean most horror movies they're not actually fighting the monster just trying to hide or get away from it.
