You can get a high-end PC if you want, but obviously that's going to cost you a lot more money. PCs are cool, but consoles usually offer an unrivalled bang for your buck. It's the same piece of hardware being mass produced, so obviously that brings cost savings which are not really possible when you're building a PC from scratch.

What you guys need to understand is that consoles are limited by heat generation.
They have to be quiet.
Which means as few fans as possible.
Which means as little heat as possible.
Which means as few watts as possible because electricity is generating that heat.
Which means the power of the components is scaled down because more power = more electricity.

Consoles will ALWAYS have components that are less powerful than PC's, until console designers either decide that 7 large fans can fit in that tiny box and make next-to-no-noise, or they find an insanely brilliant cooling method that doesn't require fans. And if you're a console faggot that doesn't know - water cooling requires fans.

Microsoft could afford to crush Sony but its about maximizing profit. They could put out a 1000 dollar console but it probably wouldn't be a good business move. Gears 4 is 30FPS in campaign/horde mode, until you buy an Xbox One X. I believe Gears 4 for MP also uses dynamic resolution scaling to get that 60FPS in MP on the original Xbox One

Last reported from microsoft was around 80million sold and after that was shipped only. Sony last reported sold was 83 or so and after that was shipped. What are you trying to say? Both companies reported "shipped" and not final sales. Either way if they were shipped they would've sold at some point. Its not like you still see them sitting on store shelves. The 360 ended a lot sooner than the ps3 did on top of that ps3 was selling a lot faster towards end of the generation compared to 360. You do the math.
