If japanese games had the exact same gameplay, but the girls were as ugly as the average western woman character, would that affect your enjoyment of the games?
Games and aesthetic
Look at dmc v
What's the point of this thread?
It's an interesting subject in my opinion.
Do you find DMC V characters ugly?
Yes. Having nice aesthetics makes a game more enjoyable
but to the point you wouldn't enjoy the game anymore if it was different? or would you just don't like it as much?
Yeah nobody wants to look at uggo bitches see: all of media.
Usually yes. If the games aesthetic was ruined in some way as a result of that change I might not enjoy them as much, but there's more to the visual appeal of something than how attractive the girls are.
>if the games were worse would you enjoy them less
obviously
/thread
How much less?
Yes. Simply because I enjoy looking at attractive/cute girls. Obviously It wouldn't be a deal breaker but It would be a minus.
25.2 %
This.
I'm also totally OK with being able to replace the cute girl with a cute guy for female and gay players, as long as the girl stays cute (no censored midriffs, please).
Go die
OK, why?
get out faggot
No, faggot.
Honestly the inverse is a more interesting question, but with writing and themes instead of game play.
Bloodborne - No (obviously)
Persona 5 - Not really
Nier A - slightly
Bayonetta - a decent amount. That's a core part of the game.
Don't we already have the answer with series like Neptunia and Senran Kagura?
Yes. The same way nobody watches a movie with shit ugly actors.
I like pretty girls, and I think character design is kinda important, but it's not the reason I play games.
Not like I didn't play Sekiro because it's a dude.
Probably a bit yeah.
For an established series? Maybe
For something new? Not particularly. If I can enjoy Boogerman in which a dude flicks his mucus everywhere then I’m sure I can enjoy some non standard character designs
