Should I get one? Will it break after one week?

Right now I'm at the point in my life when I burn a DVD, launch it on my PS2 to see if it works fine and never come back to it again. Send help.

Nope, I only played it in the army and in prison

I still have a factory sealed fat PS2.
Not sure why.

i have 2 slims, 1 black and the other silver. was gonna play the mgs games on them but i don't feel like playing at 20fps

accidentally killed my slim lens, I'm waiting for a usb router to setup games through ethernet.

I might as well buy a fat next month

I recommend the 50001 fats because they're pretty quiet in comparison.

Mine broke down a couple of years ago. Been heavilly considering getting a new one, or one of those fat PS3's that can run PS1 and PS2 games. Not quite sure which to go with.

I emulate some games on it from time to time, does that count?

CECHA01 PS3s are okay if you hack it. Mostly to increase the fan speed so it won't die. But be wary that it will be very noisy.

Yeah, I got two of them. I play them every week.

Yes.

As long as you don’t get an early model it’ll be fine. PS2 are very reliable, especially the slims. Also the skins are nice because they’re the same size as a game case so they take up basically no space.

I can't, the graphics have aged poorly to me

Yes as a matter of fact.
Picked up pic related and dicovered my old save file from circa 2000
Shits hard and not in a fun way, the game expects you to grind for XP on a limited amount of story levels or else there is no way to pay for the moves that kill the unkillable enemies. Mostly just a nice nostalgia trip, the battle tower thingy at the end to unlock Isildur was the best part.

I got 50004 can confirm. the hum is barely noticeable if you load games from hdd.

Yep

I have been using my fat PS2 since I got it christmas 2002 and it still works perfectly fine
every now and again I open it up clean it out and dust off the lense and adjust it's height, not really because it needs it but preventative maintenance

the problem with unlimited access and choice is indecisiveness
when you had buy the games you would play them because you didnt want to waste money and didnt have as wide of a selection to choose from
such are piratefag problems

I do but I've been spoiled by the convenience of digital storage and emulation. My favorite action platformers emulate like shit so the original hardware has that going for it at least.

Still have it, but most games are gone because I'm stupid

Controller's broken, have yet to play any of the SMT games on it, finish Drakengard 1 and play Resident Evil Code Veronica.
