It's simulating when you were a young kid watching an older sibling play games, content that you were spending time together. It's literally a friend simulator, regardless of the original intent. On occasion the appeal is that they're playing a bad game you never would, or a game you don't know much about, or the person is entertaining in some unique (or "unique") way. Then of course there's competitive games where you watch to see people better than you face each other in whatever game you want to see played at a high level.

Again, I haven't gotten into any of that since high school. I just see why it's so big. I will occasionally watch reviews, retrospectives, fighting game tournaments, and listen to podcasts, but full LPs or streams are just a step too far for me now.

If Stadia makes it big then it will loop back around and let people who watch streams hop into lobbies in real time or play games immediately after watching footage so maybe that's better?

My bad, is actually beef. Mom's recipe:

>1kg of beef meat, 4 to 6 cucumbers, tomato, onion, garlic, canned corn, salt and water
>Cut beef in cubes and put it to cook in a pot with some oil on it and mix it so it cooks uniformly
>Meanwhile cut the cucumber on cubes and put them aside
>Put three washed tomatoes (or two big ones), one fifth of onion and one garlic tooth in the blender with some salt and mix it. If you have tomato puree to give it some color, add a couple spoons and water until it reaches 1lt/23oz
>Add the tomato mix on the pot, let it cook with the meat so the meat absorbs it and sweetens the onion flavor
>When it starts changing color, add the cucumber and a can of corn
>Close the lid and let it cook on medium until the cucumber is soft, mix it a bit but not too hard because the cucumber can get soft

The only thing to be careful about is the heat, since I'm mexican and we cook that dish with a cazuela which can handle a higher flame without sticking the food on the bottom, so you just have to be careful with a regular metallic pot. It's also accompanied with red rice which uses the same tomato mix to cook it.
