>draw map with stylus
>Battle starts have to awkwardly press A and B now for combat or put down stylus
>Battle ends get stylus for another 30 seconds of drawing walls
My right thumb is starting to hurt real bad and I'm only 3 hours in.
Draw map with stylus
You can draw during battles, dummy. Or just turn on automapping, its there for casuals.
>Not holding the stylus in your mouth for maximum comfort and utility
You can draw in battles but but you still have to press A/B for the combat. Fuck, my thumb is aching.
>DEXlets
Are you just retarded? I can't even figure out how you're doing it in such a way to hurt yourself.
>not putting your stylus in between your 3rd and 4th fingers and having it rest on the side of your thumb
Just use the stylus to press the buttons you dumbass
Come back in ten years, zoomer. All these years of gaming put strain on my thumb joint and now holding that little stylus, dropping and holding it again are making it hurt.
This is the patrician way of doing it. Eventually you forget that you're manipulating it at all.
>L = A
>this kills the sidestepping
4 and V are the worst in the series. Vs battle lines are a fucking mess with everything hogging summon slots.
3 is the pinnacle even with is faults like yagdroid
Untold 1/2 is for nugaymurs who cant into old school
Nexus is fine but not the best send off the series could have
1+2 are for the hard core fans.
FMsynth > orchestral shit
This game really dragged towards the end for me.
sidestepping is for casuals and breaks immersion
there are 3 summon slots, unless you are using necro, rover and dragoon in the same party it shouldn't be all hogged up
>t. each
This bait is bad, if you wanted to talk about Etrian Odyssey, just talk about it
>immersion
>Implying you don't only use female portraits with minimal clothing
dragoon can block for days spamming bunkers but the necro is more disruptive but bother need to fill those slots limiting your party options.
not sure what use rover is
H-he’s good...
Hawk is a total bro, deals damage like an 6th party member.
5 is the best in the series
>5 bad because everything uses summon slots (which you get 3 of)
>3 good even though everything uses the summon slot (which you get one of)
i dont
the weebshit portraits are the worst part of the games
5 rovers is one of the gamebreaking comps in V
I hate the kids who think this series could only exist on the 3DS.
I got new for you zoomers, we were playing dungeon crawlers before map screens were ever invented, we drew our own maps on pen and paper and wrote our own notes.
EO didn't do a damn thing special asides from having hentai artist do the character design.
>implying
4 lolis and an oniichan
The only non-reddit combo
F O E

Wich one should i play?
EO is dead
Moero Chronicle out on Switch in a few days
Isn't that just a port?
I dont have a switch, just a 3ds
Etrian Odyssey on DS if you want to know its roots and see the QoL as you play them in release order, EOIII if you want to skip the first two games because they got remakes on 3DS, or EOIV because is the most beginner friendly game, but also the most different one since it adds airship traveling and the labyrinths are only three floors long, along having separate mazes.
What about V?
>All these years of gaming put strain on my thumb joint and now holding that little stylus, dropping and holding it again are making it hurt.
You fragile piece of shit. I've been playing videogames for 27 years and my fingers are more than fine. If holding a stylus between your thumb and your index finger during battles hurt you so much then it's because you never too proper care of yourself.
just use your buttcheeks bro
That's the second to last game that has been released before Nexus. You're free to start with any game you want but if you start with the most recent one it might make it harder to play the older games.
>*blocks your path*
Isn't Ur-Devil even more bullshit than Ur-Child?
>4 and V are the worst in the series.
I beg to differ about IV as it has the best balance in the whole series, you can't go bad with any comp you want (which is also the reason why it feels easier than it should) and personally I loved the airship flying. I just didn't like V but I ain't bothering in listing all the complains a lot of people already know about.
"every class is OP" is not good balance
Compared to "half the classes are broken, the other half are nigh useless" from III, is at least better.
3 is not a good example. 2 is the better example
1 and 2 are outdated shit with half the development literally outsourced to some literal whos. They have little in common with the rest of the series. 1 is mediocre, but 2 can provide some janky fun and has good dungeons
3 is where the series gets its identity and truly developed, and on its own it is a great game with a lot of content. Anyone who memes about class balance is genuinely retarded, the real problem with 3 is bad subclass mechanics and easy encounters for most of the game
4 took multiple steps back from 3 for no apparent reason and the quality of life changes that were actually good were inevitable with the move to better hardware. Weakest content with pathetically small dungeons and bosses that are F.O.E recolors.
Untold 1 is exactly what a good video game remake should be, as long as you ignore story mode shit. Turned slow, boring and broken trash into a fast paced and the most difficult game of the series. Floor jump and grimoires are still shit though, and you can't ignore them by playing classic mode.
Untold 2 is hardly a remake of 2 as it changes way too much and although it's better overall, aspects like map design and not having jewish DLC suffered a lot. Has the hardest bosses but not for the best reasons, and they can feel samey.
5 is the most soulful game of the series, making everything in the game from scratch for the first time since 1, and the map, monster and music design is finally made with the 3DS in mind and takes advantage of it. Best class design, best encounter design, best boss fights, best aesthetics. The problem is that making everything new left it with less bosses, less portrait variety, and a half-baked food system. Also the localisation was trash.
Nexus is a boatload of wasted potential for a crossover game, shit class and stratum choice, no surprise though because they literally just picked them from a twitter poll, which just shows how little they cared. Start of the game is pretty interesting though.
faam did you just seriously name 2 of all games as an example of good balance?
"half the classes are broken, the other half is useless"
2 fits more than 3 for this
frankly I found V's bestiary dull since it's styled after standard DND or mythological monsters like skeletons, hellhounds and so on. I preferred those more bizarre monsters from previous titles like peacocks and pumpkin ghosts.
And disagree on the bosses, too. Other than Necropolis boss I found the fights very dull compared to the merciless bosses of 2U. It never happened in V that I beat a boss with only 1 party member alive and completely out of curatives.
>since it's styled after standard DND or mythological monsters like skeletons, hellhounds and so on.
We had rats, slimes and wolves in the past, what are you on about? It's no more or less DND-inspired. V has more of the bizzare designs than the others, especially late game
I already said that Untold 2 had harder bosses, but in terms of the design and mechanics, V's were much better and more interesting.
