How is it managing to stay relevant and popular for so long? The game looks shallow so what's bringing people back?

frequent updates and are interesting.
i don't play it, but thats just what it seems like
Content updates and business model.
Epic keeps shitting out new shit for the game at sanic speed and most of it is completely free.
>people
Children.
They have a strong content pipeline. The initial game is fun. Especially, if you have a buddy.
Literally nobody talks about this gamw anymore.
>He hasn't experienced Air Royale Kino yet
because its not shallow, the building has a surprising amount of depth and all the kids wanna be the next ninja
It's literally made to make children addited.
>gets shot
>immediately erects a 50ft tall building in reaction
Nice gameplay fags
everyone that doesn't play the game says the same shit every time, this literally never happens, building is used aggressively rather than defensively 9/10, the building is for build battles not building castles lol
WE LIKE FORTNITE WE LIKE FORTNITE WE LIKE FORTNITE
Speaking from the experience of my 9-year old cousin constantly wants me to play with him, he likes it because of creative (even though he already has Minecraft), steal chests and guns that I found, complete achievements, and because it is free. It's been the only game he's played since January and his reasoning was "I dunno". Surprisingly he hasn't bought anything, but he is completely addicted to it. From my perspective, the game literally sucks my soul from my body, and I've seriously fallen asleep more than once. I've been trying to get him to expand his horizons to little success, saying that it's not as fun as Fortnite, so the struggle continues. What are some games for a 9-year old with a PS4 and Wii U that already has Smash, Mario Kart, and Star Wars?
a big percentage of the player base has over 100 hours in the game and can do basic builds and edits to outplay tourists from normal FPS'es, that's just how it is
the building is bullshit
just ramps and towers
fucking YAWN
KNACK BAYBEE
in all honesty though World of Final Fantasy would be a good pick
I liked Save the World even though it’s unfinished
I also liked the BR because of the high skill ceiling. Around S4 I got bored and moved onto other games
This. The building is fine. What really kills the game for me is the bloom system
youtube.com
>the high skill ceiling
ramp rushes is literally tier 1 shit you learn in ten minutes, the building goes so deep stop being a retard, i love how this game has just exposed how casual Yea Forums really is like look at this and hes being serious as well, its a joke lol
yeha bloom is bullshit, why shotguns are so prominent, at least FSA is a thing though
>Bloom
Children confirmed. It's called spread. Go back to Fortnite and Reddit, children
spread is when a bullet can land anywhere in a certain area, bloom is when the spread increases as you shoot, fortnite has bloom and first shot accuracy, it has no spread apart from on smgs, now go play outside child
>He doesn't know
does BR have thicc girls now?
Post them.
No, but there is a glitch that let's you use them with emotes in the lobby
There is literally nothing else to play, Apex had a chance but since they don't update shit it went to shit quick
>b-but back in 2000 we didn't get updates every week
This is not 2001 anymore, either you update your game every two weeks or die
this actually fucking 10/10 mod
Frequent, fun Content updates
I only boot up fornite maybe once a month, and every time I do there's a new area to the map or a new limited-time game mode.
>There is literally nothing else to play
Do you exclusively play meme royale games?
>The game looks shallow

FORTNITE
FORTNITE
WHATCHU DOIN' BUILDIN' FORTS, YOU GOIN' NITE-NITE
Constant updates mostly. There always adding new weapons and modes that play around with the BR formula. It also still has the best battle pass system compared to every other BR game. Where it offers challenges that give players something to do besides camping and is very generous both in the grind, where weekly challenges and daily ones offer more then enough xp that players don't have to grind hours of matches to max out the battle pass and the BP itself gives back vbucks so as long as you don't buy any store skins you can essentially just pay once and constantly earn back more then what you spent on the BP itself to get the next one.
Only real issue is that the actual shooting mechanics are shit so if you don't love or put in the time to learn the building aspect it's not a fun game.
>start playing Fortnite during season 3 because my friends back home said it was cross platform (I had PC and they had PS4s)
>enjoy it until the end of season 3
>heavily burnt out by the time season 4 releases but continue to play it because its the only way I can interact with everyone at once
>FF to this February, all of my friends decide to spend their tax returns on their own PCs
>get excited thinking about all of the games we can play now that we aren't hindered by the small selection of cross platform games
>tfw all they play is Fortnite
I want it to die
i would say for the casual crowd the frequent updates and new items keep the game fresh
>the game looks shallow
the shooting is but the building isn't. The skill ceiling is insanely high for it so there is always room for improvement and practice
