Not exactly considering not every subburb is layed out like it is in EENE. I'm also a city slicker, born and raised in NYC so watching that show growing up was bizarre. But I've had my taste of that type of freedom as a kid whenever I visited my parents home country. Living in non urban areas really makes legitimate adventures like in EENE. The day would start out completely normal, then friends and neighbors would meet up, at some point someone gets an idea that requires us to travel on foot somewhere far and we'll cross lakes, rivers, go through woods etc with tons of little games on the way.
It kills my soul when I think back to how free and adventurous I was as a young fucking child, that could easily have been lost or kidnapped or badly hurt, and here as an adult I'm just home all day.
