GOC a rival group put a chair that teleports to people that need a place to sit into a wood chipper the wood chips then proceeded to teleport into the lungs of everyone near by. A harmless chair became a killing machine. That is why you don't kill cause you have no clue what could happen
Kayden Bennett
They have to test how they can be used against wach other. Why would you kill your (potentially) only weapon?

Does that include other SCPs? Because there are quite a few dangerous anomalous creatures in containment.

In one timeline, they kept the ones that they could weaponize, and destroyed the rest in a huge furnace. Learned all sorts of shit, like how to capture angels and take power from God. Ended up making a satanic tentacle demon, and pissing off God to the point where Armageddon was triggered early.

For comparison, Krakatoa was around 180 decibels and could be heard thousands of miles away. Decibels is a logarithmic scale where an increase of 10 doubles how loud it is. This would make 500 decibels around 4.29 x 10^9 times louder than Krakatoa.
Nicholas Wilson
Made my own research, apparently the entire observable universe is emits ~500 decibels of energy.

4000 is a good scp, but I don't see why it gets to be a 1000 interval scp. There never should have been another. "The world is fucked and this thing will be doing the fucking" only needed one SCP.
Jose Brooks
Already posted it once before but here goes.
If you were to show a piece of text to a baby, or a dog, do you think they would understand it as text? What probably happens is they just see a piece of paper, as they do not know or understand what text is at all. They do not carry the knowledge of text yet.
This SCP is an animal who uses the same system to camouflage itself from humans, and hunt them as he's a natural predator to us. It's not invisible nor it directly controls the brain in any way. The SCPs natural shape and form just causes humans to not perceive the idea of itself at all. Viewing it and interacting with one means you are not aware that you are doing so, and to a person, it looks like nothing is there, the idea of it existing flows like water through a strainer.
Other animals can see and interact with it just fine, and most show fear and a need to run as they percieve it as an obvious danger. The predator lives in cities and heavily populated areas all over the world, as he has available food whenever he wants, and hunts day or night, only waiting for a human to be fully alone so he can make the jump without alerting people. Experiments on a single contained instance has led the foundation to gather that these animals are 3m tall and bipedal.
Pic related, SCP in question.
That's it, just another "monster" that preys on the idea of being hunted and stalked on by something you cannot see.
Caleb Sanders
It's a fake image or rather someone took random SCP cosplays and made those fake quotes
David Walker
""Apollyon" is the single word I most regret putting down in an article, because everyone misunderstands it.
The point of "Apollyon" was to get the reader to start Paying Attention to what they were reading: half of the one-two punch between "Apollyon" and "Special Containment Procedures: Irrelevant." The idea was to completely subvert two of the most common elements in writing an article: get people to realize Something Funny is going on here.
That Something Funny is that the O5 Council knows a bunch of shit that they keep hidden from the rest of the Foundation. I imagine the O5s being to the Foundation as the Foundation is to the rest of the world: there's a lot of stuff they only know about that they don't need the rest of the Foundation to know because otherwise they couldn't do their damn jobs. The rest of that last article does similar things: it uses terminology and codewords that don't exist on the site to try and make it clear that This Isn't Kansas, and you're getting a glimpse into The Things That Even The People Who Know The Masquerade Don't Know About.
Instead everyone argues over whether it's an object class that should be used more often and what the difference is from Keter, blah blah.
Apollyon was never really meant to be an object class. It was a wake-up call."

Imagine if an "eating your own shit is bad" movement started up. It's a concept you agree with, nobody should eat their own shit. But then they have big meetups and gain a lot of political and social power. Anti shit-eating propaganda everywhere, interrupting your life, it's inescapable. Everywhere you go, the world is screaming at you not to eat your own shit, even though you don't.
Then they come to your hobby. They retcon stories to make the characters anti-shit-eating activists, they hijack official social media accounts to spread anti-shit-eating propaganda, they put a picture of a big stinky turd with an X through it on the site banner. There's no escape.
And if you tell them to fuck off they brand you as a shit-eater and ban you.

My biggest problem with SCP nowadays is how they write their articles. So many stuck up reddit and tumblrfags on SCP rag on the older ones and try to rewrite them, telling everyone how they're old and boring, not realizing that's why they're so great. Shit like SCP 173 will always be more memorable and spookier than SCP 34128 because it isn't some planned out campfire story written by a 15 year old emo, its just a scary picture with a scary idea and a realistic report of it. You can picture SCP 173 breaking into your house at night trying to kill you, while these hyper gods of death are just boring as hell. The older shit reads like a real entity hidden in some underground bunker somewhere when I can't even picture the newer ones in my head. That's why the old ones are so memorable, they aren't written like a creepy pasta, just a report of a scary ass creature. Even more, it leaves so much to the imagination. Why does SCP 173 kill people? Where did it come from? Where does it's shit come from? Can it think? Is there anything inside? Could it be killed? These are all left in the air, making you wonder how and what the thing is. But the newer shit all lays it out for you. It kills people because it hates humanity. It came from another SCP. The shit on the floor comes from the colons of it's victims. It has 500000 IQ. It's hollow inside. It's unkillable. Thats how SCP 173 would read if it was created today. Completely boring, uninteresting, and forgettable.

That's what they want you to think and sadly due to The Foundation hiring their best agents that is what they are
Cameron Jones
And yet you needed to actually go out of the way to point out that I have opinions.
Why?
Nathaniel Jackson
Fuck you, I like exploration logs and descriptions in case of videos or recordings.
When shit starts getting cringy is when you have tons and tons of interviews of people that clearly don't know how to write dialogue that are 90% boring useless filler or DIRECT LINKS TO OTHER ARTICLES AND/OR STORIES HOLY SHIT FUCK OFF WITH THIS GARBAGE.
Brody Powell
Also I'd like to add, STOP FUCKING GIVING MTF'S """PERSONALITY""" WHEN DOING FUCKING EXPLORATION LOGS PLEASE IT'S FUCKING EMBARRASSING. KEEP THAT SHIT FOR THE DEBRIEFING AT THE END AND KEEP IT BRIEF.
Caleb Fisher
Objectively the only good AWCY-related SCP to be produced.
Benjamin Cruz
If we go by the idea that they're all NEETs and trannies it would explain why they spend their every waking minute in front of a computer, eventually being on the SCP site gets boring and they venture outside, like when wrestlefags get bored of saying the same thing for the 20th time that day and venture outside Yea Forums
Zachary James
>Symbols have been compromised
OH NO NO NO AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Lucas Murphy
you're goddamn right it does tranny
yeah it looks like dogshit. I know they had copywrite problems but why didn't they just redraw the original picture? That's legal, right?
Exploration logs aren't bad. Videos and recordings aren't bad. Trying to create some interconnected universe with every thing layed out in full detail is god awful. The best exploration logs create more questions than answers, but too many people try to create a spooky monster then describe it completely, killing any and all fear.

then why did SCP take off in the first place? The most popular and well recognized SCPs are
scary unexplained creatures and phenomenon. There's a reason SCP 173, 049, 106, and 096 keep popping up. They're scary, easy to imagine, and it doesn't take 15 hours for you to read their articles. Stop being a retard.
Jack James
The original one was lost, so they had to replace it. Absolutely nothing else was changed.
Probably because it was the first of its kind to do such a thing. And articles like 096 aren't really popular anymore either. They're still amusing, but they aren't scary. Not truly.

The thing is every time they have these little circlejerks they always run into the problem of the people bringing up the evident SJW taint and the dramatic drop in quality and then they have to run damage control, literaly every single time.
So what are they hoping to accomplish? Are they trying to find the right day of the week and hour of the day so they can have their private talk?
Brayden Hernandez
Are there any other popular SCPs that have been changed like this or removed? I know the hateful star was removed by request of the creator, and the sexy doorknob was rewritten for promoting rape culture, and that story about the endless tower in a national park with fly monsters (or wtf it was) got rewritten by the creator. Anything else?

049 was rewritten, if I remember right, because the original was really barebones compared to quality standards and it was only held up for Containment Breach. djkaktus has a lengthy blog post on the subject, and desu the original was pretty OW THE EDGE and nothing more
Nicholas Parker
Doesn't make it good tho, and the fact that it uses pop culture is irrelevant, in fact, the IKEA one ranks high on my last.
May I remind you that SCP-076 is close to getting a 1000 likes?

Tell me what my political opinions are. It seems like you realized that you can't argue with me about SCP because you are clearly wrong, so instead you try to make it about politics. Being a pop culture reference isn't necessarily bad, but 2721 really comes off as a Tumblr blogpost instead of a SCP. The basketball game is arguably a pop culture reference, and that one is fantastic. For memes, the We Are Number One SCP does it a lot better.

It's far, far worse, user. Don't kid yourself. It's a terrible SCP, and it is also clear that the author intended for it to be some transsexual representation from its responses to criticism. The author also cannot handle criticism at all and refuses to think that people have problems with it outside of it being transsexual. The SCP itself is also a clear self-insert, as I have stated earlier.
Connor Howard

Zachary Collins
>tfw no 914 to test shit with
Leo Reyes
I was thinking of adding an SCP but I dont know if anyone would like such a boring one.
Basically, its a wallet that gives infinite money, but only three US dollar bills (addendum: tests have proven that the wallet will always provide an equivalent amount of money in the relevant country, though it must always equate to 3 US Dollars) at a time, with a few seconds needed to recharge. These dollar bills have anomalous properties, in that they cannot be contained in any way. Not in a clamp, not in a safe, not in your pocket. If they are put into any space where they cannot potentially escape, they will burst into flames.
Tests have shown that trying to put the money back in the pocket proves unsuccessful, as the wallet will violently spit out the money and continue to spit out uncontainable, explosive money for 3 hours straight.
This is what I have so far, what do you think?
Anthony Thompson

Dominic Wilson
>how do they even fucking contain them
They don't usually. Or if they do, it's because of some means that offer a horrendous moral sacrifice, such as 1739.
Luis Ramirez
That's because the agents were incompetent and didn't destroy it properly, and if the SCP foundation weren't around they probably would have killed it for good.
Cameron Price
that said I actually do like several concepts in it, which makes it that much worse that criticism of it isn't allowed and the author's never gonna improve it because they're a narcissist who thinks anyone who doesn't kiss their ass is literally hitler. it could've been a good scp if the self insert tumblr homestuck shit was removed (it can stay trans since that's at least thematically relevant).
Joseph Reyes
What is it you want to get across with this SCP? What is it's story?
Owen Robinson
Scranton Reality Anchors really only work on things that use Humes (which most things do, to be fair), and they have a set limit on the kind of shit they can handle, though they can stack. Universe-level forces would probably cause them to explode.

Here's an SCP for you:
It's a website that generates discussions and debates, which will in most cases turn aggressive and heated. It preys the user into participating and discussing himself by creating fictional opinions and personalities that debate one another. The purpose of the site is to gather money through ads, unfortunately adblock works on it.

One time I was half asleep and came up with an SCP that’s a normal deer that just appears in foundation buildings at inconvenient times and nibbles on lab coats. It comes back after it’s released to the wild
Owen Thomas
It's actually an experiment log. Here's the whole thing.
>The unmanned vehicle is struck by SCP-001-2 and obliterated. SCP-682 survives, as does a backup camera. SCP-682 is badly wounded, having multiple open, bleeding wounds. SCP-682 begins crawling out of the wreckage of the vehicle, towards SCP-001.
>SCP-682: Is this meant to be the Garden? (SCP-682 begins laughing.) This is not the Garden. The Garden is far west of here.
>SCP-682 is struck by SCP-001-2. SCP-682 survives, heavily wounded, having lost all but one limb. SCP-682 uses its sole remaining limb to drag itself towards SCP-001.
>SCP-682: Die? You command me to die? Oh, wouldn't we all like that, but this is my curse for suggesting the fruit.
>SCP-682 is struck again by SCP-001-2. SCP-682 is extremely injured, but persists as a result of its anomalous resilience.
>SCP-682: This is not the Garden, and you are not Uriel. (SCP-682 spits towards SCP-001.) Pretender.
>SCP-682 is struck again by SCP-001-2. SCP-682 falls unconscious as a result of extreme injury.
>Personnel enter the 1km boundary around SCP-001. They report hearing "REMOVE" from SCP-001, and suffer a compulsion to collect the body of SCP-682. SCP-682 is returned to containment without difficulty.
It says it "suggested" the fruit, but even so, it's basically the reason why God gave Adam and Eve the boot, and everything that followed.

Doesn’t help that the writing is atrociously bad and nonsensical.
The good news is that any that does like it is confirmed scientifically to be an idiot, since they are responded to the mimicry of common sci-fi tropes, yet lack the understanding to understand why.

Safe SCP idea:
A mirror. Effect only triggers when a subject is exposed to their own reflection on the surface of the SCP. Subjects will not be able to recognize themselves, and will insist that the reflection belongs to somebody else.
Brief exposure causes subjects to become gradually agitated by their own appearance (especially face), and will seek to change their appearance. This may include showing exaggerated facial expressions, changing their hairstyle, removing accessories like earrings or glasses, or scrawling on their face using pens and markers. Highly distressed subjects may mutilate their own face with whatever tools are at hand in order to distance themselves from their original reflection. Even after managing to alter their faces significantly, subjects will continue to be distressed.
Prolonged exposure (and especially if subjects are restrained to prevent them from changing their appearance) will gradually cause personality disassociation. Subjects will become highly stressed and attempt to radically alter their personality, temperament, likes and dislikes, and will lie about their name and background in order to distance themselves from any trait they associate with their former self.
In one test, a D-class subject was given amnesics before prolonged exposure and asked about themselves. The subject attempted to construct a new, outlandish personality rather than attempt to remember their previous one. When the subject was lied to and informed that "the person in the reflection" also shared these traits, they became highly distressed and attempted to revise their invented personality into a new, more outlandish one. After being released from restraints, subject violently attempted to disfigure their face with a ball-point pen and was terminated.

just last year the end-of-death canon was created which is filled with nothing but creative horror

>waaaa scp is run by trannies now... old = good new = bad >:(
>haha my favorite scp is after series 2
retard board?
Daniel Powell
There's also a new Antimemetics tale, which is vividly surreal and disturbing.
Jace Smith
why does every artist draw 682 with the acid burns? surely if they read the article they'd know that's not how it normally looks?
Ayden Brown
it spends 99% of it's time in it's acid bath
Justin Lopez
Iconic appearance

What if their Master used a Command Spell to teleport them out?
Jeremiah Cooper
Who would win? 001 or 682?
Noah Moore
Any good ones from the 4000 series?
Camden James
depends on how magic is integrated into the SCP universe
if it's fully integrated then the good ol' "shove an SRA into their containment room" should do the trick
if it's only partially integrated then things might get more difficult, but do remember that their first mission is to protect normalcy: if something cannot be contained nor convinced to stay away from public sight, then they have absolutely no issues killing
Justin Evans
How do you not recognize the bodies in the water?
Jack Bell
Depends on if the Master can get through whatever defenses that the Foundation sets up. There's a good chance they could get a memetic kill-code shoved into their brain in making the attempt, amongst other unpleasant stuff.
Jordan Walker
001 would easily lead the fight, and 682 might even be very close to defeat, but 682 extreme resistance will eventually make it win.
A lot of SPCs have paranormal or magical powers, and there's usually always a way to prevent them from either using their powers or for them to have the desired effect.
The same logic is usually applied if a known external source or another SCP can free them.
Dylan Wood
Ahh, its my favorite category
>Good setup ruined by "My OC Scientist is morally superior to Foundation"
Aiden Flores
on the other hand the Foundation does not have a good track record of stopping teleporters and in universe magic is one of their weak points as they have very few practitioners in their ranks
Thomas Allen
>Good setup ruined by "My OC Scientist is morally superior to Foundation"
that honestly sounds more like a series 1 article than a later one, OC's are frowned upon heavily these days, only the best written stories can actually get away with them
Liam Williams
try upvoting good entries and downvoting bad ones and riding it out for a while.
not much else anyone can do as far as I can tell
Carter Murphy
Well, you can still have characters in your stories. They just need to not be blatant self-inserts, or near-unsalvageable garbage like the original Doctors where.
Owen Martin
Speaking about servants, someone like Shiki would be really helpful to the foundation, he might be able to kill 682.
Henry Parker
that said sometimes people do mistake competency for mary sues
when in fact, the people working at the foundation are supposed to be competent, the trick is to write intelligent, competent characters and then give them an obstacle that is difficult if not impossible to overcome even for them
which is one of the hardest possible things you can do as a writer, especially if the character you're writing about is smarter than you are
Angel Hernandez
>OC's are frowned upon heavily these days
yeah, but only the ones that go
>my SCP is superior to all other SCP
>if the foundation, or a previous or new SCP has or develops an ability that can contain or defeat my SCP permanently, my SCP will automatically develop a new ability to render that ability useless.
basically all the ones that are nothing more than a kid making a super powerful and invincible whatever that nothing can ever defeat.
but if new OCs do follow the rules and are in line with what is logically possible in universe, they're usually accepted
Isaac Hernandez
I don't know, first time I read it I felt disappointed.
That Janet rubbed me the same way as the guy from 3999.
Series I as I remember is usually presented in the past tense as a scientific article, 2922 is loads of dialogue
Hunter Clark
Are you talking about the trannies that took over the SCP site?
Dominic Barnes
just switch over to RPC, good things going on over there
Owen Cooper
Is there anyone in the foundation who could defeat him?
Henry Baker
Now I want a floating shopping list SCP
Lincoln Perez
Anyone remember what number is the portal to an alternate dimension that we accidentally sterilize the inhabitants so they just send super deadly plagues and bombs through the portal to try to wipe us out?
Levi Hill
Classic, the little girl one is good too
Jordan Jackson
Holy fuck no. The RPC stuff is just plain awful. Most of it isn't even their stuff either, it's just Series 1 and 2 articles with the names changed.
Josiah Cox
That's 1322

They just want more people to play a free game with user.

I though it is subtly implied that 343 is just a very charismatic/narcissistic Reality Warper that has convinced the staff that he is the God.
Cooper Gutierrez
I can't believe people want to fuck that
Alexander Rodriguez
Prepare all clowns for milking.
Joshua Jones
He manages to be both that, and a technical portion of God as well, depending on what you take as canon.
Jaxson Garcia
Fuck off GOC
Josiah Morales
Dont try to reason with that guy. He's spent almost a year shitposting and complaining about the anons playing the game. He has posted the server IP to other sites falseflagging as the players and was caught in Reddit doing so which lead the anons to his other posts which paint a picture of very deranged individual. He also creates multiple Steam accounts to grief the user server with wallhacks and aimbots. He is the epitomy of autism.
Jackson Rivera
What are some good astronomy-related SCP's?
Liam Perez
I know, it can't even be fucked in the first place.
Leo Miller
Holy shit that is pathetic.
Imagine getting assmad at a free game.
Probably got teamkilled so many times his poor little mind snapped.
Can't take any banter
Anthony Diaz
>Simply touching SCP-999’s surface causes an immediate mild euphoria, which intensifies the longer one is exposed to SCP-999, and lasts long after separation from the creature. Subject’s favorite activity is "tickle-wrestling", often by completely enveloping a person from the neck down and tickling them until asked to stop (though it does not always immediately comply with this request).
Adrian Sanchez
Star Signals is an obvious choice.
Charles Harris
>made an RPC

>tfw no FEAR like game about GOC finding an anomalous area and fucking it up while being attacked by Sarkic cultists and Broken God worshipers
Ian Morris
Give some more. I'll read them later.
Angel Gray
The worst thing, he doesn't have problem with the game, just with the user playerbase. His screenshots revealed his timezone and the fact he mostly posted 03-07am local time and he had meltdowns when people pointed it out saying his persona is not the topic but the anons who play the game. So he's highly sensitive on maintaining a certain role of anonymous and failing it miserably.
Jaxson Carter
Is this still going, last I heard it was taken over by SJW trannys.
Carson Foster
REAL QUESTION TIME
You can only make 1 SCP your wife, which do you choose?
Aiden Rodriguez
This wasn't a joke submission, it was a coldpost (a post that didn't undergo any evaluation or critique). It was swiftly deleted due to its low quality.
Mason Walker
682
Ayden Clark
Are these fucking cunts the same people spamming SCP threads on /tg/ every other day?
Jackson Stewart
I think 106 should be the upper limit to how bad someone's fate can be. Just like no one can beat 682, no one should be able to cause more pain than 106.
Nolan Phillips
No. We only post to Yea Forums since the activity is not enough even for /vg/ where we were banished year ago. Nowadays mods are more lenient on us.
The guy spamming the threads is
He is on his personal autistic vendetta against anons playing the game. Falseflaging and all.
Grayson Flores
3200, 1683, 1795, 2399, and 4344 are all pretty good reads.
Angel Evans
Just read the class of 76 series and scp 2316. Very cool, but I'm not sure how the syncope symphony and the lake are connected.
Nathaniel Young
>protected
What the fuck is wrong with these 'people'?
Liam Russell
811!
Asher Ross
They're mentally ill and incredibly fragile.
Liam Morgan
Nor do I. I assume that the vacation the guy went on with his friends caused them to drown in the lake or something.
Jack Morgan
Gotcha
Logan Gutierrez
Syncope is implied to have attracted the attention of something from fucking about as they did. The lake and later anomalies are essentially a result of this.
Alexander Turner
>bored reading 914 test logs
>no one ever puts fine or very fine objects back in
Why?
