Is it still worth it to get a 3DS ?

I just recently got a New 3DS XL for 40 bucks (wtf is going on with that console's name btw) I got it with a busted top screen and I'm gonna replace it with a brand new today.
I'm not sure if it was a wise decision to make as the 3DS is a dead console now, was it worth it ?
pic is the 3ds that I just got

It's not getting many new games and the device is basically 100% hacked, so it's really straightforward; just look up a list of games, and if you see enough that appeal to you, then go for it.

I just looked it up, seems worth it to play retro games and a few recent 3DS games. After looking around to see if it's possible to easily hack the 3DS I found out that I had to use a thing called Seedminer but the problem is that it sounds really complicated. Any information on how easy it is to use Seedminer to play 3DS roms ?

Bumping for interest

Also, depends alot what games you want to play OP. Look at the library and decide. If you are a huge weeb there are a lot of good games. I am not, so the library is getting pretty thin for me at this point

It have large library of great games, exclusives, ds backwards compatability, some top snes games etc. I have all gaming systems and still play 3ds.

Also get some comfortable grip for it, you will not regret it.

Yes. Install custom firmware and it becomes your childhood nintendo handheld on steroids. You can emulate NES/SNES/GB/GBC with and it runs GBA and DS games natively.

How the fuck is a dead console when basically all the catalogue is already out?

Games are not going to stop being good

A quick peruse through the catalogue and you can see there's barely any games being released for it. The only major updates it received the past 6 months were for patching homebrew exploits and iirc New 3DS models aren't in production anymore.

You basically have to hack it to breathe life into it.

Persona Q2 is coming out soon I guess.

But the backlog of games on it is pretty sweet if you've never had one.

why did you destroy your 3ds? are you a child? manchild perhaps?

Because all the games already out are suddenly bad or what?

There’s a thing called hydroseed and just go on gbatemp with hydroseed in the search bar and you should find what you need. Although you would only need it if you want to play games that use extended memory such as Pokemon ultra sun or monster hunter stories and I think the new 3ds games also need it as well. One more thing if you get a Arm9 error when loading the games it might be due to the CIA file being corrupt and so you would need to go onto godmode9 which is your decrypter program and find a guide that tells you to how to decrypt CIA’s. After you done all of that install your CIA file through FBI and import the seed and if there happens to be that you need to update the installed game then press yes (it won’t get you banned)

Check this list for games:

Good luck hacking it

Hacking it isn’t hard but takes long time to do one or two of the processes

Because where it was once a flagship console, it's now being swept under the rug for the Switch. But I personally don't think the 3DS library by itself justifies a purchase.

yeah, installing games also takes some time, but hey, is free

Is the Seedminer thing the easiest way to hack my 3DS? I've been wanting to for years now but I can't bring myself

This, consoles are only worth buying only when their entire library is released. The only things worth buying day 1 are PC parts.

Are you retarded ? I got it from a dude for 40 bucks as I said

Thanks dude even tho I think I bricked the console

OP reads like it was written by someone incapable of a single coherent thought.

>I'm not sure if it was a wise decision to make as the 3DS is a dead console now

What does that even mean? Yeah, most games if not all in the 3DS library have been released by this point? So? Is that bad? Not like you're getting a console that's heavily reliant on online play, is it? You bought a broken 3DS for 40 bucks. You're right I wouldn't call that a wise man's choice either but a poor one's indeed.

I mostly wanted people's opinion on 3DS games because the plan was to repair that 3DS to then sell it for double the price online but I decided against it after making that thread.
Stop being a cunt for once user, not everyone is on point when it comes to video games

Also, have one of these handouts.

Is the fredminer hacking method legit?

It has a huge library and I believe brand new ones are like 150~ You can emulate tons of shit on it and you have DS backwards compatibility. I'm still playing mine after 7 years go for it.

My old one had an issue like this too except the bottom screen became mirrored and tinted red. Amazingly I managed to do a system transfer.

I got a refurbished one just to hack it and emulate snes roms. Luckily I won the IPS lottery too.

If you want it for yourself now, I hope you do succeed in first repairing and then hacking it as that will give you access to most of the GBA (look up VC injection), DSi (flashcart recommended) and of course 3DS catalog. Also, freeShop is dead. RIP

I like the Sega 3D Arcade Classics a lot. Stuff like Galaxy Force 2, Outrun, Shinobi III. Ninja Cop for GBA is also a worthwhile GBA injection.

If however you're looking to make a profit by selling it after repair then I wish upon you a better financial prospect in the near future. Unless it's just a hobby thing because you like to tinker with stuff.

Lastly, for hacking it follow this guide to a T and NO OTHER. Hear me on this or you might regret it. hax.b4k.co/3ds/guide

Oh yeah, NES and SNES emulation are a thing too. I forgot. So get yourself one of them big boy SD cards.

Hack it, get a 128 gb micro SD card, go to 3dscia.com, have fun, I also recommend an R4 to play ds games as well, but hacking allows you to emulate ds roms too

I don't get these people and I don't think I'll ever understand millennials. I appreciate being able to play tons of old games, particularly WRPGs. The 3DS is still worth playing, any platform with good games is still worth playing.

Why do you automatically want to throw it into the garbage just because it's not new? Like WTF? I've got a high end gaming PC, PS3, PS4, 3DS, Switch, Vita TV and I would flip the fuck out if I got a Sega Saturn that could play the Japanese version of Symphony of the Night just for the Adult Maria mode and extra areas. Good games don't go out of style, you fucking millennial faggots.

doesnt emulation kinda sucks tho?
I see people just straigh recommend not to bother and just buy a R4
