Nope. RE3 was still great and a million times better than Code Veronica but it's not better than RE2

Some parts were improved but others were misguided failed attempts. The biggest problem of RE2 was way too many fucking resources lying around everywhere. RE3 tried to fix the problem in a way that makes it seem like there's less stuff, but actually the game just cheats and gives you what you're short on instead of having levels specifically crafted around the enemies and items that are in there.
RE2's boss fights were too simplistic, just slow damage dealers that you shoot until they die. RE3 tried to make everything into a level based gimmick so that nobody could have too little ammo left to deal with a boss, but every boss fight ended up being horribly designed. Like the worm boss that is a single hallway that is the width of the boss so even if you miraculously could get the coin flip dodge mechanic (that is bound to the same fucking key as your attack) to work, there would be no space to dodge into. And the acid room boss that requires you to lure the boss next to a valve that you then need to shoot (remember to disable autoaim because you need to shoot something other than the enemy) which then takes three seconds to open, during which the boss steps back away from it in order to avoid it. And let us not forget the o-shaped arena where you are put into a permanent slow injured state, during which you need to avoid a boss that runs four times as fast as you long enough to turn around, fire once, turn around and keep running around the circle. And then you get distracted when you remember that the fight started with a guy getting unconscious right next to the arena and the game refuses to let you grab his M4A1 with a 500 round magazine. As that distracts you the boss punches you once and puts you into an inescapable stunlock state. Time to restart before the cutscene that led to that fight.

But all in all X is easy once you know how he works, the real hassle is if the use him as the base and then add running, ranged attacks, and god know how the enemies will act, but have no fear, they added alot of crutches to re2 for x, im sure they'll have something to keep nemesis from being bullshit

I beaten hardcore enough times to cheese alot of things, lickers are easy when you have a knife and stunlock the fuckers, its when the tyrant is up your ass and you need to make a choice between a full sprint into death or walk into a "safe" zone, 4th survivor taught me lickers don't bother with stairs but jumping through doors is somehow a thing (to be fair it was an area that used to have a licker).

I only got hit by the tyrant when I clip the environment, its the lickers that did kill me when utter panic happens
