How did you all enjoy this game?
The whole game felt like one big adrenaline rush to me. From the fast, slick gameplay that makes you improvise as much as it needs you to plan out to the fun plot with plenty twists and turns.
The game definitely feels unfinished, but I really enjoyed what there is. I can easily see myself putting this near the games I replay whenever I get bored.
Katana Zero

another indie shovelware but with some reddit controversy and memes plus journalist shilling and/or controversy
nice
What controversy?
Is this one of those famous Yea Forums shill threads I've heard so much about?
Nah, just enjoyed the game.
just played it. cant reccomend it.
way too short and embarassingly unfinished. also, way too easy.
the story was intruiging and im guessing theres some endings im missing but i dont wanna replay the same shit. the gameplay is pretty fun and th level design is pretty good too. game is beautiful too. soundtrack is meh outside of one or two really solid tracks.
it's another case of pikuniku. solid concept of a game, but it seriously should be 2 or 3 times the length it currently is. it's just too light on content for me to be able to recommend. i guess these games are going for replayability, and there's some in katana zero with the dialogue choices and different endings, but it just doesnt have many variables or iconic scenarios that make games like hotline miami so fun to replay.
c+
actually fuck you
call out shilling when it actually happens (square enix games, that one water sports tony hawk clone someone is making, or the ironic sony/switch shilling if you want), not on every single indie game that people attempt to make discussion for.
i see it every fucking time and it always is the only shit posted in the thread for these types of games.
I swear this is the third time I've seen the exact same game.
Deadbolt, Mark of the Ninja, now Katana. All feel the exact fucking same with a different coat of paint.
It was even more "hey we played Hotline Miami" than Hotline Miami was "hey we saw Drive." I like it, though. The ending is somewhat incoherent but it claims the story isn't over so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
I haven't played Deadbolt but Katana Zero and Mark of the Ninja aren't that similar.
Damn just recently I tried something similar but with top down perspective, called "God's Trigger"
binged the fuck out of it last night, it's pretty good
i've never heard of this game and have no interest in looking it up
>Steam game
Yikes
No, thanks, I prefer Epic Games Store for its games' quality.
Also on the Switch. *Console Exclusive
>Switch
Based. Big fan
>gives you the illusion of choice in how the overall story plays out
>too short
>slo mo makes the game too easy
>not a huge deal of variation of the enemies
>took way too long to release this and now they're making everyone wait for the DLC to finish the story.
But did you have fun
Did anyone else think the protag was a girl at first?
eh, probably the long wait for this to come out made me expect to much. 7/10?
there is way too much going on all at once for me to be able to focus. also rotating pixels look disgusting.
Fun game but too short as everyone already said
Gameplay's really good especially if you play with no slo-mo
shut up /vpol/ go play a video game.
Does it have gays, trannies or blacks in it?
no character was stated to be one
I think it might have blacks, but you kill them with your katana.
It was pretty fun, but I think I prefer deadbolt. The bosses got surprisingly hype though. The slowmo is useful but I don't think it's necessary in most spots, so I'd love to see how the game would look played by somebody really good with it.
I also didn't like a lot of the gimmick stages.
Pretty much the same feeling as Luna Nights, really good game but it's too short and it's obvious they haven't finished the game yet since it ends on a cliffhanger + a "come back in a few months" sign.
Also weird that the final boss is locked behind a bunch of specific choices without a good way to check which ones you need
Thanks, might get it.
wait, is laser bitch the final boss, or did I miss something?
I think he's talking about the psychiatrist turning into a body horror monster. It's not the final boss, though; it's just an alternative scene that happens when you finally confront him if you antagonize him throughout the game. I didn't know about it either.
I'll definitely pick this up when it goes on sale. Only because I hear its pretty short.
The psychiatrist goes full eldritch horror if you antagonize him throughout the game, then finally confront him. It's awesome.
I want more games with this game's dialogue system, it's fucking great
Agreed.
i thought this was aggressively dorky and turned it off after the third map
