Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
DON'T use W10's own virtual disc app! Don't install under C:\Program Files\ !
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.

Follow the SH2 widescreen fix site's instructions to the teeth, and you should be fine.
For 3 & 4, check the Guide.

-Never play below Normal difficulty
-Replaying them all is recommended
-Turn down the ingame Brightness setting
-Don't try to kill everything that moves, especially outdoors
-Turning OFF the flashlight can really help

Jesus I really disliked 3. Not to say it didnt have some disturbing shit but overall it's no where near 1 or 2.
Visuals/graphics were great
music i did not care for, some people love it i do not know why.

People mostly like the visuals or Heather herself. I found her character to be too inconsistent though, crying in one scene and taunting monsters in the next. And I thought the monster design was also kind of bad.

This song from 3 only played during a short cutscene later in the game but I really liked it.

Same for me, although I've had 4 downloaded for a while and will probably try it before playing 1 and 2 again next time I'm in the mood.

4 is still worth playing, biggest letdown is that you have to visit most areas twice

I didn't dislike 3, it still had very strong visuals and iconography but the story was a letdown. I don't think revisiting Silent Hill 1s plot was a good idea.

Oh. Well I think 3 had more stuff that was listenable outside of the game, it's more like a triphop album, compared to 1 that had a lot more grating and horrifying industrial music. I don't feel like it had as much impact though.

That's a pretty common problem. Usually ends up feeling shallow, repetitive, inconsistent, etc. unless you're only using very small parts of it. If a single game mostly wraps up its own story, trying to expand on it won't work so well.

This might be controversial opinion but I actually rather liked what Shattered Memories did to reimagine the SH1 story. I think it's incredibly underrated in general. I wish Konami didn't hate us and it got a PC port.

I've seen a lot of posters say they liked that one. Sometimes that can work better because you're not being constrained as much as the old game's story/canon.

I put off playing SH2 for so long because I didn't want to install all that shit. I'm glad I did it eventually, but I wish there was just a single package with everything that let you pick what you wanted.

I just ended up playing the PS2 version anyways. But does anyone know how to uninstall it properly with the mods installed or whatever?

I really like everything about Silent Hill 2 besides the game itself. The puzzles in that game turn me off from ever wanting to replay it again so most of the time I just end up listening to music.

Just set puzzled difficulty to easy or normal you can set the puzzle difficulty separate from the game difficulty.

What's the problem with just uninstalling it from the control panel and deleting any leftover folders in program files? I did that once when I fucked up installing the fixes and it seemed to work okay.

Even on easy most of the puzzles in that game are so ambiguous or just require you going into certain rooms in a specific sequence.
