Dunno where you get that, Sugiyama has a successor who has composed for a few spinoff titles, Toriyama basically only puts the guidelines for the character designs instead of drawing them himself and Hori while still involved in the Design has a few people involved in Producing and Directing the games. DQ as a franchise is pretty far from over.
