Phoenix Wright, Spyro, and Professor Layton would be nice. Shovel Knight upgraded to fighter would be swell. Something from Undertale would be fun. Don't care about Steve or anyone being a fighter, but something Minecraft-related like a stage or bosses or assist trophies would be cool. Also, maybe Stardew Valley, but I think Harvest Moon being acknowledged in some way would be better first, since it's what SV was inspired by, and it feels odd it's not in Smash at all.
But yeah all those would be nice but all that's really on my wishlist at this point is Banjo, once/if he's in I would have to think about where to focus my interest.

I would be happy with nothing else but at least a Tales rep. I know that it's not going to happen, and that if it does it would have to be Lloyd or Yuri, but I would really like Velvet in the game. I'd sit through any amount of 'muh anime swordfighter' shitposting, and I think she could very easily have a good movelist. I've posted my ideas for it in two other threads previously so I won't bore you with it again.
That's about it, really. I think only a Tales rep could get me as hype as I was for, say, Bayonetta or Joker. I won't say I want Banjo, Geno, Isaac, Sora or all those guys in because I honestly couldn't care less if they were in or out.

What did convince me was the amount of love Joker got with his release. Several music tracks, the mementos stage with all its attention to detail and easter eggs, and even his alt costume/win screen got me to think; Is there any way Nintendo could give that much to Geno?

Tons of magic, including Tornados, icicles, electricity, fireballs, the ability to teleport, the ability to turn to metal, the ability to put people to sleep, etc. The ability to use more than just swords, but also boomerangs, clubs, bows, axes, whips, etc. Various monsters could be incorporated into his moveset as well since that's the most iconic part of the series. Really, I just trust them to do Erdrick justice with a creative and unique moveset. Just because it CAN be generic doesn't mean it WILL be.

When you focus on the art style too much, to the point of making it a separate universe entirely, we get shit like Sticker Star and Paper Jam where it goes from being as rich and creative with Mario as it can be to just being "standard Mario fare, but paper"
I would love seeing Mario's new abilities and friends and sights that debuted in the Paper Mario series appearing elsewhere. Goomboss in MKDS comes to mind. Star Spirits and Whacka were in Mario Party as well. Maybe we could have even get some partners in Mario Kart. But that can't happen when Paper Mario becomes his own character defined by the unique art style. That not only locks away all the goodies the series introduced, it erases any chance of seeing them even in Paper Mario games again.

And again, you can get pretty creative with a Paper Mario moveset. Parakarry for up-B, Koops/Kooper for down-B, Vivian for side-B, and Bombette/Bobbery for neutral B. There's a ton of ways you could separate him from regular Mario.
That's probably because SS just released at the time of Sm4sh's development and this was when Nintendo was under the assumption that it was a more popular game than it actually turned out to be.

The same reason Nintendo shuns the original Paper Mario games and the same thing that you've been told several times. They are moving in a different direction with Paper Mario.
