If you mean the power pools like leadership, super speed, fly etc, yes you get to repick those.

Basically nothing. It's the theme to help get immersed into your character. When you start the game you'll have basically no attacks, so you're given Brawl, a basic punch, and a weak power based on your Origin. It's so weak that it becomes useless at around lvl 8. Your origin also decides which enhancements you'll be getting and where you can buy them from. A Natural origin character will buy stuff from a store that looks like it sells tools, weapons etc. A Magic origin would shop at a dusty looking shop that might sell arcane artifacts.

Certain enhancements are slotted into certain Origin characters. Again, there's no good or bad origin. If you're a magic origin character and you defeat an enemy that drops a Natural origin, then that enhancement is useless to you and you can just sell it for some money. Early on you'll have DO (Dual Origin) Enhancements, which are slightly stronger than the shittiest enhancements. These can be both mutant/magic, or natural/mutant, or science/tech, and means that either origin character can use these. Then around 20+ you'll find SO (Single Origin) enhancements, which are much stronger. During late game, you have IO (Invention origin) which is when the crafting system becomes important.

They all work well, the game is pretty easy (Though there are some HARD missions) it was less about balance with the powers and more about making them feel cool and customisation and stuff.

Origin really doesn't matter after like level 10. It really just determines where you get your starting missions from. Also each origin got a unique temp power. Wasn't really useful once you got more powers to play with.

Yes, they greatly enhance your powers. Say a basic upgrade you find is 10% more damage, a hybrid of your origin and another origin might be 15% more damage, and a solo origin might be 25% more damage. You'll only get those artifacts from fighting your origin nemesis or maybe hybrids if you're fighting a different origin nemesis.

Honestly the various missions you'll be doing will have you go against multiple types of enemies and you tend to get more quests specific to your origin anyway so it's not like the game is broken if you are a Mutant but tend to fight against robots. It's mainly just for roleplaying.

They're items you equip on your powers. They can be replaced and need to be around your level.

You won't get the best ones until endgame so it doesn't matter. You can still equip/merge/remove as you will, there is no penalty for doing so, but you can't retrieve tem once they're removed from your powers as far as I remember.

Enhancements pretty much don't matter until level 12 when you get dual origin (DOs). Even then they aren't that powerful. At level 22 you can get single origin (SOs) which are twice as powerful as DOs. There's also invention origins (IOs) which are craftable enhancements with set bonuses. Basically the unique gear from other mmos. IOs are better than anything else in the game once you understand how to build with them. Every time you level up you either unlock a new power, or new slots for your powers. The slots are distributed between your powers and that's where the enhancements go.

The games version of gear. Since you can just customise your character to how you like and you can't equip stuff that changes your character's appearance, you just change it whenever through Icon, there was no need for gear. But there needs to be something that drops from enemies that alters your stats, so they made enhancements instead.

Just think of it as gear that doesn't change your appearance. Enemies drop, you sell or equip, get better enhancements, swap them out etc.

The more you level, the more enhancement slots you get too to equip enhancements.

Both. You get them as drops and Vendors also sell the basic single and dual origin ones. But they are expensive for the amount of money you earn while leveling.

Yes buy the ones you can from shops, you have to be within like a certain amount of levels to use it. So upgrade like every 10 levels or so I'd say. You could upgrade every 5 levels from shops but you wont have the funds.

Also there's a whole crafting system for Inventive enhancements that have set bonuses.

They're upgrades for your powers. They come in all types, some decrease the time it takes for a skill to recharge, some decrease the amount of endurance your power uses up, increases hit chances, increases damage, enhances debuffs, etc.

Yes you attach them to ablities, as you level up you add slots to abilities so you can equip more enhancements.
Yes you can swap em out although I think the one you're swapping out is destroyed
Just let the enhancements roll in and buy some if they're too underlevel as I believe they become useless and no longer provide a buff. Late game you need Single Origin ehancements and end game you need invention dingles.

You can pick which morality you want to be at the end of the tutorial. Or you can make a Praetorian and choose at like level 20

Enhancements drop from enemies or are rewards. There are stores that sell them. They cannot be swapped out without using a respec. Putting an enhancement in a slot that already has one will destroy the old enhancement.

You will use enhancements as you level. Enhancements degrade as you level up (except IOs). So you will have to replace them as time goes on.

Actually wait I forgot when you do a respec and you don't reslot a enhancement it goes back to your inventory, so you can use respecs to slot expensive enhancements out.

Enhancements are your gear in this game. From lvl 1-32, every time you level up to an odd number and talk to a trainer, you're given 2 slots to point into powers of your choice. From lvl 33-50 then it starts a 1-1-2 pattern. Level 33, you get 3 slots. Level 34, another 3 slots. Level 35, a new power. Level 36 and 37 are 3 slots, lvl 38 is a new power, etc.

These slots fit in enhancements which are percentage based stat boosts to that specific attack that you slotted it into. Stuff like Recharge Rate, Damage, Endurance Cost, Accuracy. They drop from mobs random and can also be bought, but enhancements bought from NPC shops are pretty fucking expensive when you first start the game. It's usually not worth buying enhancements until lvl 22 because that's when you get access to SOs.

Enhancements can also be combined to increase the level, so if you have 2 lvl 8 accuracy enhancements, you can combine them to make a lvl 8+, which has the stats of a single lvl 9 enhancement.

At endgame, you have Invention Origin enhancements. It's hard to explain.

Yes and you can have multiple costumes you can switch between (with animations like a Shazam style lightning strike etc.). I think its 8, or 10. But costume slots are unlockable, you only start with 2 I think.

Tequila is just a downloader/setup/launcher that downloads Titan Icon, Paragon Chat, and the City of Heroes client and sets them up so you can use Titan Icon and Paragon Chat, and then you'll also have the game client files for when the private server opens.

Oh and after releasing a bunch of korean MMOs that didn't do as well as they hoped, that fled back to the western market.

Right now you can make a character on Paragon chat that you can save and load up into the official server whenever it actually happens.

It was dead as fuck towards the end. NCsoft was pumping a fuck tonne of money (relatively speaking as far as MMOs went back then) with huge content updates to win people back but it wasn't working so they had to pull the plug. It was an all or nothing gamble and they came up with nothing.

I would recommend doing Praetoria at some point. Missions are much more organic then the Paragon/Rogue Isles. Lots of choices.

Their level cap usefulness does get extended, yes. So a lvl 8+ is a level 9, which doesn't expire until you're level 13.

As I recall, each + increases the level by one, you can have two or three +, and they cease functioning completely when you exceed them by 5 or more levels. The color of the number is an indicator; if it's yellow, let it mellow, if it's red, it's dead.

It was a stand alone expansion, you still logged into the same account and created characters on the same server. A better comparison is that it became a two faction MMO with locked zones for each faction. And at launch they had pvp zones where players of both games could meet and pvp and heroes could bitch endlessly about stalkers being OP and bullshit.

There isn't much you can do when you're a publicly traded company and NCSoft buys you. CoH though began under Cryptic Studios which was eventually bought by Atari. CoH was sold to NCsoft to be run by their western division and Cryptic went on to make Champions Online.

In time CoH split away from the mainline NCSoft West and got its own studio dedicated to CoH entirely called Paragon Studios. Things were going great for a number of years until the devs came to work one day and found out they were being laid off, the studio closed, and the game shut down. I don't know if this was before or after NCSoft had the majority of its shares bought by Nexon.

The studio's total annual operating cost was 4 million USD. They grossed 12 million in revenue annually. NCSoft paid $8 million USD to buy CoH. They wanted $80 million USD to sell it.

Its a shame as Paragon was really getting into the groove update wise and to quote Avengers, they were in the endgame. If you read their Q&A's which I'll link in a bit, their plans were up to Issue 28 and they were about to release issue 24.

The plan was to essentially break up the Freedom Phalanx and Arachnos. So the main hero and villain group. They'd already started doing that by killing off Statesman and "killing" Sister Psyche. The other plan was to have Manticore leave the group and turn into a dark vigilante, and have two Arachnos members redeem themselves into heroes. So a lot of switcheroos.

Then the Battallion would arrive, an alien empire that amalgamates and enslaves other races, and was hinted towards since the very beginning of the game, various villains would have revealed themselves as sleeper agents for the Battallion (such as Lady Grey) and they'd invade, starting with The Moon.

There'd then be a new zone on the moon with the hub being a moonbase and fights on the moon and shit. There'd also be player ran moonbases (their attempt at rebooting SG bases with their own less messed up code)

Anyways, the Battallion would be whooping all the heroes, as there's no Freedom Phalanx or Arachnos, wanting to save himself and seeing that nobody had any hope and that they needed a symbol, Tyrant would don the Mantle of Statesman for the fight.

The tide would begin to turn and Statesman would reveal himself as Tyrant, revealing that everyone had this power within them anyways, and they didn't need Statesman to win, the tide would turn and there'd be a big fight on Earth and The Moon and in Space.

Earth would win and the Battallion would be destroyed at the cost of a mass depowering, this would lead into CoH2.

CoH2 starts as CoH began, years in the aftermath of a huge battle of heroes defending Earth from aliens, where a ton of legendary heroes died and a new Freedom Phalanx being formed. With the world (as the game would expand beyond the city) in need of new heroes, thats where you come in. Either as a new hero or your previous hero, who was caught in the depowering, which explains why they're level 1 again. Then the next plan was apparently a group called The Dimensionless, then The True Rikti, the original race who transformed the Rikti that the game knew.

STM: I had an entire personal story in a playable state that was Scirocco going good, it was awesome. There were 13-14 missions, all fairly quick (i.e. less than 5 minutes) where you played as Scirocco.

MM: Genuine redemption, but given the reaction he got from everyone who learned his secret, he started thinking like the Old Nemesis again.

RG: We had a lot of meetings on just this topic. The angle I had been gunning for was that Mender Silos would be an ex-member of Battalion, who saw the end result of their empire and chose to use time travel to oppose them. Others suggested that he had become Time Incarnate itself. Whatever the end result was, he was definitely going to figure pretty heavily in the Battalion and post-Battalion storylines.

Yeah, I wonder what will happen as well. Im hoping they'll still continue on. if they can make a good looking game with as much customization as CoH and fun combat and powers, I'd still play it.

This was deconfirmed. City of Titans is preparing a statement. The confusion comes from COHTitans the hosting server that Leo was a part of. COHTitans was complicit with Paragon Chat, but City of Titans, so far, is in the clear.
