Assassins or Templars?

cuz templars want to abuse the artifacts to control humanity just like the precursors did

At some point back when I cared about the story in these games I thought it was eventually going to reveal that they had a patron Ancient of their own, and that was going to be the true head of the Templar order.

Templars. They are the reality check for humanity. In real life, Templars are Freemasons. Freemasons rule our world.

They have complete legal authority to arrest and imprison individuals that are deemed a threat to Abstergo. This is one of those Mega-Corporation takeover or rulerships, armies, government, law enforcement and all, thanks to the technology and science that was used back in the day to control humanity as a slave race. Not to mention Assassin's Creed lore is basically "muh ayyliums are ancient gods that gave us the knowledge/technology to control people, all religions are both correct and incorrect" which means Templars aren't really Christian per se but actually more on the line of freemasons or illuminati or some shit.

Assassin's are ONLY good because they represent the movement of free thought and will. Other than that, there's no doubt they more than likely still suffer the same consequences as anyone modern group does in terms of corruption or bad leadership.

I like the Templars more because at least they actually do proactive shit. All the Assassins ever do is play catch-up to the Templars.

In the modern day setting the Assassins are getting wiped out. There needs to be a 3rd group who gets sick of their shit and tries to put a stop to it for good.
