Don't mind me, just shitposting.

Him

Mute, self inserts need to die. What's the point of a self insert if he has no impact on the story and just stands in a corner making stupid reaction faces while important people are talking? Oh yeah that's totally my power fantasy, being a socially stunted sperg.

>amazing character stuck in a terrible game

The Zanza reveal ruins his character

Does Ringabel count?

>Goodhearted kid
>Responsible, has a job of his own, lives basically alone
>Sends the majority of his money home for his family, what a good boy
>Just a little bit perverted, not a letch, but also not a monk
>No powers of his own
>No special abilities of his own
>Not a destined hero, or even a particularly great fighter
>Zero actual connection to the plot, the events going on, or the villains, he's part of the story only because he wants to be
>Hotheaded, but not a retard. When faced with a situation he knows he can't beat, backs down (and breaks down in regards to what losing means) rather than endanger his friends for no reason
>His entire motivation is to keep a promise and pay back Pyra for saving her. But, when needed to, he throws away that motivation, admitting it wasn't what was driving him and that he cares about Pyra and Mythra for more than just that sake
>Reaches out to the heart of an incredibly damaged/scared woman in a way that not even the Legendary Hero was able to
>Wants to spare/save the Villain, and is willing to sympathise with him. But still kills him regardless when it's clear that doing so isn't feasable. Put the fate of the world ahead of his own personal feelings
>Married all three of the heroines, no-one was left behind

It's hard to say he's my favourite of all time, there's a lott'a great JRPG protagonists, but I liked this stupid kid a whole lot more than I was expecting to.

You'd better not be the same faggot from last time who posted Ryudo over Justin.

Unironically agree. I really hate mute protagonits "Oh you're meant to put your own dialogue there!" it just makes them seem empty. I'd much rather protagonists like say, Cloud who have an actual character we follow along with.

Not a JRPG, but that seriously killed Twilight Princess for me. Since Link doesn't talk, Midna does all the talking for the duo, which means she's the one giving the speeches, she's the one with the back and forth with the villains, and she's the one that's forefront on any discussions.

You go through the game feeling like Midna's the main character and you're her sidekick. I really didn't like that.

Ah, the old emotionally dependant to my dead boyfriend heroine trope.

She's only generic on the surface level, although she did get more annoying in Ep3 but then again she was also an emotional wreck by that time. Show me a character with more depth, I'm genuinely interested.

to be fair she evolved from generic shoujo heroine into a horrid unlikeable bitch who didn't deserve her love interest

>Rance not as Chaotic

That aside, what's the Yu quote from? The anime?

I love his development.

Velvet, even tho I like Magilou better.

In reality, Caim. But Drakengard isn't really RPG

Only the best.
