Only one that gets asspulled is the Merge ending, basically the merge actually fails because JC's body and Helios are not compatible and JC has to be put on stasis so IW's protagonist can wake him up again.

Silhouette's Illuminati is like a second MJ12, an usurper faction disconnected from old Illuminati rather than a continuation of it. Even most of their technology comes from MJ12.

Nothing about who they are and what they do aligns with the Illuminati ending, nor does anything else that canonically happens. The Illuminati of old disappears, the Grey Death is not cured, the 20th century status quo doesn't come back, JC never joins.

Democracy is fundamentally not occurring in DX1 universe. Helios is a system that processes all peoples needs and desires and counts them as votes to produce policy that is beneficial and democratic in the time of a single instance. You did not pay attention to the story at all.

I did pay attention and at no point did helios mention micro democracy. He explicitly talks about being a benevolent dictator as democracy is a flawed system that even humans have to bulk out with checks and balances to make sure it doesn't devolve to chaos.

JC canonically chooses Helios. They merge, it goes wrong and JC has a stroke, blows up Area 51, then flies to Antarctica to build himself an ice fortress and go into stasis as the world descends into chaos.

They'd need to infodump the backstories of all 3 factions before the game even starts for you to choose. You can't import saves either.
Making all 3 canon was the only way to have a fucktarded protagonists that learns over time what went down.
