Which is better, 1 or 2?
Other urls found in this thread:
2 is a little better but you should play both
I prefer 1 because the zero grav jumping on walls were so much cooler than just hovering around
I feel like 1 nails the horror aspect a little better. However, DS2 has the part where you have to return to the Ishimura and that part of the game is terrifying. They're both really good though.
Even though 2 is shorter, it feels more repetitive since there's just one too many combat arenas and action setpieces for my liking.
I like how 1 really plays up the fact that Issac is suppose to be an engineer with how much time you spend fixing shit.
they both excel in what they were going for.
1 is a methodical, ambient/atmospheric type of game
2 is more action oriented
both in my opinion are masterpieces
3 can go fuck right off though
1 nails survival horror atmosphere, and has solid gameplay and story. 2 does a great job of being a sequel by upping the general pace of gameplay, making it more replayable, along with a decent story.
For me 2 is a better shoot em up and can replay more, but 1 is much better if I want more from the survival horror aspect
I replay both of them annually, there is not need to rank them.
I prefer 1, because it's more of a horror game. Though 2 also has some good parts.
BUT, and that's a pet peeve of mine, I hate games with an unkillable enemy and 2 has that towards the end.
1.
2 is a generic action game.
I think I've replayed Dead Space more than any other game I own.
1, but not by a lot.
1, by far. 2 is just the same with some twist here and there but with way more retarded story.
I love 1st because it gives the best presentation and atmosphere, but I like 2 a bit better because of the improved gameplay.
He killed Billions.
It was janky as fuck and the camera and the breadcrumbs could make most people vomit in that state.
2>1>>>>change my mind
2. Still scary, much better quality overall. But is right, and I kind of agree with .
Still waiting on the third game to come out.
There's nothing wrong with this opinion. 1 and 2 are interchangeable for me, with 3 always last.
If only 3's DLC was its own main game.
Atleast he's not cuck like Isaac
I prefer the first one. 2 went full AAA action-horror with tons of set pieces and it really feels like it could’ve been shortened. The pacing drags until picking up at the end.
meant for
whoops
>Still waiting on the third game to come out.
does anybody know when the third game releases on steam??

This. Beat both at least 10 times.
1 but with 2's controls
Depends if you prefer an emphasis on horror or action.
Funny coincidence, I'm about to have my 7yo son play both of these
2 has cooler moments and gunplay.
1 has better atmosphere
This. The Sprawl ain't got shit on the Ishimura when it comes to design and atmosphere
I miss these comics.
>the best part of 2 is revisiting the ishimura
1 for atmosphere and immersion 2 for improved mechanics.
>Look down through the window at the chaos and see the regenerator casually strolling through
as much as i hate to say it i had the most fun with 3 just because of the combat and weapon customizing. i’m also bias towards the mass effect armor in it.
It's funny to me that the Dead Space franchise apes the trajectory of the Alien franchise almost exactly.
>First one is a tense, slow paced horror game about the sole survivor on an alien infested space ship
>Second one is more action oriented, takes place on a space station experiencing an alien outbreak
>Third one fucking sucks
It's like they meant to do it.
>Riot Security Suit + Roided up Contact Beam
I'M NOT STUCK IN HERE WITH YOU, YOU'RE STUCK IN HERE WITH ME
>i’m also bias towards the mass effect armor in it
Truly a travesty. Who gives a shit about story or atmosphere right
At least Dead Space ended before it got raped any further, Alien wasn't so lucky
I liked playing it co op, especially during the bits where the other player is seeing shit you can't. But on a whole the third is shit.
>tfw my Zealot suit DLC us forever stuck on PS3
Is there any places to get the files for that suit? Its the best in dead space 2
>Dead Space turns into Lost Planet
>Lost Planet turns into Dead Space
>both of them die at the same time
Two of my favorite 7th gen game series, and they just couldn't keep it going.
I guess I'll reinstall since I got nothing better to play
2 was better in terms of gameplay
1 was better in terms of atmosphere, setup, story, etc.
Capcom's return to glory is begging for a Lost Planet reboot.
The best
>You can "kill" the regenerator if you force gun him into the huge ventilation blades before reaching the marker
Shame it's literally in the last room you go into, and even then you lock it in.
At least Alien 3 had a pretty solid ending to the series(even if spoiled by it's sequels). I liked the idea of 3 (awakening dlc) ending but it's execution felt more like a cheap jumpscare than a existential threat wiping out an entire planet's life.
>that ONE workbench on the mining deck
>the surprise gorilla in hydroponics
>the entire fucking crew quarters
1 scared me more but let me just say
>stalkers
2 was scary too.
Neither. They exceel in different areas.
1 is way better atmosphere wise and making Isaac feel weak and out of his element. Its slower paced. I thought its low-grav parts were better than 2.
2 is a better action game, its way more balanced weapon wise making nearly all of them viable, its enemy variety was a lot better, it had a lot more vibrant colors which clashed in a good way with its setting. Returning to funtimespaceship is one of the better moments in gaming. Game could have been so much more if EA didnt have there shitty hands on it and forced a fucking MP no one played.
1>2=3
Dont get the hate for 3. Played through it recently and totally enjoyed the weapon customization and the regular ds tropes
Infact
I enjoyed it more than the resident evil 2 remake yes
2, because it was a proper sequel. Improved on the first in every way, which was already a great game.
>tfw you realize you're not really killing enemies buy simply disabling them and causing them to be recycled
Next level.
How on earth did they make 1 look so damn good on my old 360?
I love both of these games, 2 had better shooting and I liked the zero grav segments better in that one, but 1 had maybe my favorite use of atmosphere and ambiance in any game. I missed silent Isaac while playing the second game, and the whispering of indeterminate source from the first game. I also missed the boss necromorphs from the first one, I think 2 only had the tormentor which was really just a qte and that whole killing the fake Nicole/marker thing at the end which I didn't like at all. 2 did have the stalkers though, which are my favorite necromorph. I also liked that by and large throughout the first game you were almost totally isolated and alone with only mutated, bloodthirsty, and almost mindless body horror zombies to keep you company. You had Nicole, Hammond, and Kendra, but It felt like you personally met up with them less than Ellie and Strauss in 2.
I have to give it to 1, but only barely, and only because of the fantastic use of atmosphere and sound design (which 2 had as well). Also, both of these games are good examples of a realistic game graphics-wise that still had its own art style and direction that holds up today. They still look fucking great.
I've honestly never even played three, so I can't say anything about that one, I just know everyone seems to hate it. Going off of what I do know about it though, it does seem like a downgrade.
