You're supposed to use distilled water

Dry it off quick, I reccomend sticking everything a microwave to get it dry faster and more thoroughly.

Leave it outside to dry

You're supposed to use mineral water

put it in rice

you're problem is that you used too much thermal paste

>no soap
here's your answer you dipshit

you didn't let it dry enough

Attached: leak.gif (951x534, 708K)

did they speci0fically say "wash" or did they say clean cause you are supposed to clean it with compressed air cans

your cpu fan is upside down dingus. reinstall it and it should turn on again

I watched a youtube tutorial on this, I think you're supposed to break an egg now.

Theres no asians around to fix it

epic thread! nice job op!

This asshole is trolling. It is literally impossible to use too much thermal paste, it even speeds up the SATA connections.

You need some clorox to really clean it senpai

You have to scrub and then rinse.

Attached: O7N8F4y.jpg (1536x2048, 514K)

Should've used a pressure washer

the screws retard
can't wet the screws

I just hose it and let it dry. Works for me

Hence rice. Do you even know how to summon?

would it be alright to clean your computer if you dried it afterwards? Is there anything he water can fuck up while its off?

I knew a guy who used to wash his graphics card.

It's supposed to be boiling water. You don't your computer to get a virus, do you?

Well, that's one way to get attention for an unwanted computer. Did you bend the pins while putting in the CPU?

put each part in a huge bowl of rice
an asian will come to your home to fix your computer

Put it in time out.

Dude, you can't just use water. You're supposed to use Windex or a generic variation thereof. It binds with the dirt and then you use a strong magnet to pull the dirty Windex off without having to touch the computer.

Attached: 1552915372879.gif (400x352, 825K)

Did you remember to put the psu back in you dingus

no
but the air will rust wet metal parts
plastic is totally safe

No it's fine as long as it dries out completely.

HOLY FAKIN SHIT

I use canned air, outside, when it's obviously not plugged in. Canned air on a computer that is running is like taking a flame thrower to it, because canned air is actually canned compressed chemicals.

that's not how watercooling works

It doesn't matter if the water is on or off.

Oh you're gay.

You were supposed to use Gatorade, the electrolytes help it run faster

>watercooling
>MuH RgB SiCk CoOlInG bruh
>not using AN lines straight from the car world that can hold up to racing conditions yet cost less than pc memery
Why are pc builders such retards

>using alkaline water
real niggas use salted water
Sodium Chloride has some science shit when it is in close contact to electronics
trust me bro

this is
just take this guys advice use Clorox to clean your PC then proceed to use it to clean your ass and flavor your spaghetti it has many nice uses also great on cereal

I've always wondered about that. Especially when it comes time to get a new graphics card.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

>my vita got wet from rain
>doesn't turned on

Do you mean while I sleep a little asian pop out and repaired my vita in exchange for rice? They took just a little then.

But they're louder and less effective, just go air cooling if you don't want to do it yourself.

get new case fans

In theory it would work, but water would likely get trapped in places and never dry, and when you power up you are gonna short circuit something.

Why not sweat instead of water? Sweat also cools down the human body. And if you're feeling peckish you can lick your PC.

You're laughing, but I'm working at a PC repairs shop and this is something that literally happened(sans the mayo pat). Some dipshit brought his PC in this state to us.

The PC would eventually warm the fridge enough you would be in worse shape than air cooling. A fridge isn't designed to cool something that is actively creating heat

Elmer's should be fine, just make sure you wipe off any excess

Semen will do nicely.

That's why you use liquid nitrogen :^)

The look on his face, it's as if you just raped and ate his baby in front of him.

If you don't want to deal with the hassle of glueing it back together, you can always measure the dimensions of the reflector tray and give them to your local mirror store to cut out for you. Then you just need to install it and it's good as new.

>watercooling to play the Witcher 3
he deserved it desu

as long as there is no power electonics can get wet. One practical application to this is cleaning the inside of your keyboard out, since its not that hard to get those completely dry.

The water itself doesn't do anything, its when it short circuits things and voltages that have no business being in certain places get there.

Theoretically distilled water would be safe even with the power on since water itself isnot conductive only the minerals in it, but i wouldnt trust store bought distilled water to be pure enough.

only IT people get this

Stop smoking, it's bad for your PC and it's even worst for your body.

It will be ok if it dries up but it shouldn't get wet like that. If you want to be safe blow baking soda into the thing and an then put the internals into an oven at like 100°C for 10 minutes.

It's a hardware overclock for the GPU you heat it up enough and put the solder in certain places so more current can flow efficiently through the circuitry.

No, the secret is to use just a little more thermal paste, that way you don't need neither heatsink nor fan.

Monitor is plugged into motherboard instead of graphics card

Yes they do retard, especially Corsair products have the worst quality AIO plenty have blew up inside PCs in idle.

I mean I get it now because it takes like 2 seconds to look it up.
Dude configured 8 hard drives to act as a single virtual drive where files are split across each drive so each drive can act independent to retrieve a portion of the data thus increasing speed. One of his drives broke making him lose all of his data, which was 8 times more likely to happen then if it was under a single drive.

Nothing actually wrong with washing your PC so long as you let it dry 100% before turning it back on again.
I've done it before with a really old dusty build. Left it out to dry for a few days. Turned on and worked good as new.
Dunno about soap though but just water is fine.

Attached: 1554709738945.png (512x548, 181K)

Maximum airflow achieved.

as long as it's clean water that doesn't have contaminates that can dry out on the parts and cause a short
and of course if you do it with everything depowered and battery out of the mobo, nothing will happen

Not to mention that the dirt in your computer parts could make the water conduct electricity again if it dissolves.

Neither does every retard that does this.

Do not let your cat around your PC. Brush its hair outside, near a garbage can.

I'm not even mad anymore. It's like some tide of calm has washed over me.

by not plugging it in properly

I keep it on a nice hardwood floor under my desk with dust filters. Just clean your floors lmao

im more triggered by that tiny little bit remaining

Reminds me of one night when it was raining and the moment I leave the room, the ceiling starts leaking water directly onto my pc. I come back like an hour later and find it off for some reason until I realize what happened. Dried it out and it was working just fine. Pretty sure it had some kind of failsafe that shuts it off the moment it detects any type of short-circuit.

I use to just throw shit in the dishwasher and let it dry for a week. worked fine, I know now that it was stupid but beside that point. It always surprised me how resilient hardware is/was. Just clean your pc regularly and you won't have to do dumb shit

It's the biggest factor for stability, normally it slides into a little holder on the motherboard.
Still would be hard to knock it accidently out of the slot, but it's not a risk worth taking.

It's easy in the sense that it's primary school homework tier. All the answers are already out there so all you have to do is try different solutions. It's repetitive but not hard. You could also plow through a basic CompTIA book and learn the methodology behind troubleshooting. One read through and you'll pick up most of it. Then do what that user said and you'll be fixing shit in no time.

Mobo have hdmi or vga or other display related slot. Same with GPU.
If you want to use the GPU, you need to plug the display into the one in the GPU else it will:
a. Run using iGPU or APU
b. Doesn't put out any display hence you think something is broken then take it to the service center only to get laughed at

Pretty sure it's a meme video. That's clearly a mid 90s board. Doesn't even have a AGP slot.

I kept my PC on carpet for a decade, barely any dust in it and that thing had three fans intake and two out. carpet or floor placement being a problem is a meme.

he likes his gpu well-done

it is a pcie slot

server motherboard not intended for that kind of shit, my guess is network cards or raid cards

it was the only slot on the board

I'm not defending the guy or anything but I do get triggered by misinformation. Short version of the video is "how much ebay shit do we need cram into this garbage fire to play vidhja"

it's fine, don't worry about it. if the computer ever gets louder or slower open the case to see if there's any dust blocking the fans. there will be a little bit but that happens regardless where you place it.

Gotta add to this, I'm not even smart, didn't graduate high school but I can fix/build anything. Computers are not as complicated as they are made out to be.

they are very little people

I cleaned out my old PC I had for years and years before I turned it into an emulation/entertainment hub. The dust bunnies I blew out of there were insane. I have never seen so much dust balls in my entire life, there were dozens upon dozens, it was hilarious. Some towers are just fine to put on the floor, though, since they have little legs of their own that elevate the tower.

A better medical analogy is cutting out your appendix so you aren't technically obese. That little nubbin doesn't actually transmit information, it's for stability.

imagine being bald

People like this should definitely not play games like Dark Souls or any competitive (online) game.

Nice quads. What about natural dust accumulation? Around 80% is just your own skin that falls off on its own, for me it's probably even more because every time I run my hands through my hair I get like a small snowfall and the various skin care products and shampoos I tried didn't help either

Attached: 1548938688268.png (1280x720, 525K)

what's more pathetic is when you're clearly balding and instead of shaving it off you try to keep on whats left

I don't think 1cm vertically will make a noticable difference in how much dust accumulates in your PC. a better idea would be to just fucking vaccuum your floor every once in a while.

Some retards don't have any back up of their works. I would have the same face if all my work stuffs go puff. Thankfully I'm not a retard and always keep my job files sync up with the cloud(tm).

don't give them ideas user

My teacher put me through this program in the mid 00's called Techskills USA. I was able to get A+ certified then got a job with a local family owned computer/phone repair shop when I dropped out. Only worked it for a couple years. I learned most things from just fixing and building stuff for friends and family.

not all pastes are non conductive. you have to read the label.

AIOs aren't as loud as air cooling unless you are already in a cool climate where the fans basically just spin gently.
My tower legs are just over an inch long, just like your dick lulz roasted fag, but the old PC was never cleaned out. Not once in about 8 or 9 years. Temps never got above 60, though, so I never really cared about it since the cable management was complete trash in it anyway. I'll never do mid-tower again.

Read books about it. Read forums about it. You have the world's largest resource of information right in front of you.
Buy really cheap parts and try stuff out that you read about.

What the previous user said, twice a year.

to be fair to the guy glass tables are really fragile and can explode at a moment's notice if they happen to get scratched in the wrong spot with some weight applied.

This is Linus doing some of his mad experiments isn't it?

Unironically spend 100$ on a good tempered glass case or something. I had this issue for years until I splurged on a good case. Then I had plenty of room for cable management and other shit and now I've got a great case that's last me a while with great airflow and spaces for cables.

a little dust, especially on the fans themselves, is to be expected at that point. but if it was a lot that's more down to your room being dusty than a cm or even an inch of elevation. that was the only point I wanted to make, really. carpet and elevation are memes. putting a PC up on a desk means you hear it more and you're wasting valuable desk space. terrible idea and no payoff whatsoever. and carpet doesn't magically add dust. if you vaccuum a carpet and a non-carpet room equally often there's no physical way the PC in the carpeted room could end up much dustier. the dust has to come from somewhere.

That doesn't even really matter. He forgot to remove the CMOS battery from the mobo.

Computer worked fine.

Start with the basics. Look up stuff like "how to build a computer". Never use one source, but at least five that don't refer to each other.
That way it is more likely they aren't bullshitting you. Actual published works and such are even safer, but should also be fact checked.
If you encounter something in the basic stuff you are looking up and don't know what it is or how it works, congratulations, you've just found a new search term for more research.
Keep repeating until you have some idea of the very basics. Then go shopping for cheap parts and start building your own stuff and programming your own things.
If you can do that, you can start moving on to the more difficult stuff.
The most important thing is to start with the basic stuff and work your way up from there.

that really shouldn't be strong enough to damage anything

Yeah, but my point was that I did vacuum and clean regularly (every two weeks) but the dust still got in there. I just failed to mention that because I'm retarded. I agree that there is no problem whatsoever with keeping a tower on the floor, even on carpet, but I will say the legs have helped this new tower stay a bit cleaner. Might also be due to the fact that it is a full tower and not mid and thus cable management is much better. We will see, it's not even a year old yet.

positive pressure only works for stopping dust if all intakes have a filter. the cfm of the intakes is greater than the exhausts so the dust only has way to go which is through the intakes. non filtered intakes will still generate a ton of dust, but if you have filters then it will collect on them instead which makes the inside clean.

Dude clean up your coolaid from the screen first

Don't wash your hair with hot water. Also stop using shampoo altogether unless you got really dirty. You should only be using conditioner at most. If your dandruff is really bad, 2-3 times a week use a spray bottle of half water half apple cider vinegar and spray it into your hair, let sit for a few minutes then rinse out with cool water and use your conditioner after. Keeping up with this for a few weeks should get it under control.
