As Miyazaki said, otakus were a mistake. Persona 1 and 2 are still fine, I just got around playing them... BUT WHY THE FUCK DID THEY GET RID OF DEMONS ON 3 AND 4? Playing with esoteric themes on Mainline SMT and P1&2... I feel like part of something bigger. Idk, the atmosphere is just better.

Hey I prefer the dating sim elements over gameplay too and I supposedly like SMT more than Persona.

My ideal game would be a game full of bonds and dialogues like Persona BUT the apocalyptic atmosphere of SMT instead of a highschool. WAIT I JUST REMEMBERED, DEVIL SURVIVOR IS THE FUCKING BEST GAME EVER.
Does Devil Survivor count as SMT or Persona? I never see it being talked about.

Persona stands out more with it's whole social sim mechanic.
SMT is a great series of dungeon crawlers, don't get me wrong. But they don't do enough to really pull in a large crowd, it's pretty by-the-books.

Persona isn't brutally difficult and edgy.
I like a Challenge, but the last game i want to be difficult is a turn based RPG. RPG's should only be challenging enough to stop people from button mashing through, SMT goes too far.

nocturne's hardest part was matador, a fucking bonus boss that was inexplicably mandatory, and smt iv's hardest part was minotaur because of the fucking garbage ai

Is that one other game Bloodborne? If you haven't already played them, Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir and Dragon's Crown PRO are worth checking out as well.

You're just proving the point, SMT is just a generic post-apocalyptic setting except with demons. 1, 2 and 4 even had most of the destruction caused by nukes. The setting really isn't anything special.
