Xenoblade Chronicles 2

I'm intrigued, tell me more.

So it's

Fire -Lightning- Wind
Magma Ice
Earth -Plant- Water

Right?

Yeh basically.

You choose the blades you use which are characters in your party whose only purpose is to power up/give abilities to the main fighter.

The Blade determines the magic you cast.

Most of the blade's are scantily clad girls attracted to their heroes

So you only have one player character who uses multiple weapons that are characters which sort of act like party members?

Imagine a magic system where the less interaction you have with females, the more potent your spells are.

But user that's just real life.

3 player characters, each has their own main weapon you can swap out I believe but the main weapon is still story relevant.

5 party members ("drivers") of which you have up to 3 in use at a time. Each one can have 1-3 partners ("blades") equipped they can switch between during combat to access different elements and abilities. In the base game the driver did all the fighting while the blades only fired an emotional support beam, that was a stronger stat raise the higher you got the trust level between the two and the better you were doing in that specific battle. The expansion added mechanics of the two switching places and the one in the back also now casting support buffs and debuffs.

How the fuck would you fix elemental magic to be 'realistic'
I'd base it on particle states, so we'd have gas, liquid, solid, and plasma. Coincidentally these are already loosely linked in their most 'common' environmental states with the classic four elements: wind (gas), liquid (water), solid (earth) and plasma (fire).

Well depends on what you mean by "well done".

>character with both elements weak against itself.

I got an idea for an element game. It has 10 elements fire, water, nature, undead, dark, light, magic, metal, air, earth. There are 5 characters that control two of each and their knights , the gameplay is similar to monster hunter with monster fights and bayonetta.with the ability to use supports. I could go into story but its complicated.

It always feels like the fruitiest shit when its spelled "magick" but eternal darkness and TES spell it like so, so I'm conflicted

Outward

Skyrim.

Closest I can think of is the faith stat in FFT but that changes the effectiveness of all magic on any given unit.

Wizard 101

The Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games do that

Not overpowered/underpowered with decent spell schools.
With some sort of mechanics to it, not "hurr durr fyreball".
Ill check it, thanks for suggestion.
Leave me alone Todd please.

>bosses are immune to status effects

Why do most games do this?

Kanna is my wife.

That is all.

What anime?

final faggotry got away with it

Because most status effects would be broken.
Etrian Odyssey manages it pretty well.

nigga thats SAO

>the pain you get in your chest/soul when you're extremely upset, except bad enough to kill you
I must be under constant assault from a shadow mage, then.

>water beats fire
>fire beats ice

>Earth magic
>Expands to rock, ground, metal and even sand and nature

>water beats it harder

tech was always way more fun in this game even if less powerful

I'm okay with that.

>electricity magic exists
>the world's technology uses no electricity whatsoever

>buffs allies by setting them on fire

Mages aint engineers nigga.

>damage cap at absolute hot
>when black body emission's wavelength reach Planck's length
>get a random +1 damage from another player's buff
>every attack now collapse into a Kugelblitz
>damage cap now infinite, only limited by the AoE's radius

Unless you want an entire 6 block radius to know there's a fight going on, you wouldn't use a gun either.
>inb4 suppressors
Suppressors don't make a gun completely silent you retard.

>have to attack shit at galactic range not to wreck self with friendly fire

I always love when fire magic has some healing/support.
>warmth in DS
>cauterize is plenty of game
>"inner-fire"-ish buff

>holy damage scales down with INT

what if high level fire magic could branch into stuff like raw movement, sort of how heat works?

>fire has low damage variance
>lightning has high damage variance

Wind causes particles to interact with each other, which trades electrons at the atomic level, which is passing of energy, and thereby electricity.

Wind = Lightning you god damn mongloid.

Thanks for laughs, needed it.
