It's an addiction simulator with a game layered around it. The whole thing works on exploiting FOMO that kids have. As much of a subhuman faggot Dan Olson is, he did a great video in April about what a monster Fortnite actually is under the surface on his channel Folding Ideas or whatever. Fortnite is barely a game, it's a platform to sell garbage to children.

Working with kids, they start flossing all the time. They do it while doing other things. It's like a tic.

Do you mean as a money-making tool or as an actual game? Because as a game it's barely there. As a thing to make money, everything the game does basically exploits the fear children have of missing out. Everything is limited time and takes a lot of grind to get or a monetary payment. Seasons are short, there's lots to unlock, and the only way to really stay on top of all the grind is to keep buying season pass after season pass while playing a lot. It simultaneously builds a fear of missing out and a sunk cost at the same time.

Before I worked with kids I thought Fortnite was just a harmless fad, like Pokemon when I was a kid, but Pokemon wasn't a 24/7 live service where you could be left behind permanently if you stopped paying attention for a day.
