Never. The appeal of the show is the writing and the medium most suited for it is a high budget television series. Any video game about this would have to mirror the books and show already which wouldn't be successful, or try to do its own thing with its own shitty writers which also wouldn't be successful.
it would be either a ES copy, or some linear action game.
RTS would be good, or a white walker defense game might be nice.
it isn't a setting fit for video games.
it's just a war of the roses clone with snow zombies and dragons thrown in.
Just pretend that the first half of Genealogy of the Holy War is Game of Thrones.
*ahem*
ES clone please
>real
I feel like you could do a Kingdom come like game with the setting
Miyazaki-denka is making one.
Fpbp. Even though the show's writing went to shit a couple seasons ago.
>t. boner ballsack
It IS real and it IS awesome. Iron from ice, brother.
Friendly reminder
which game is ES?
>a Game of Thrones episode where the story is told through item descriptions
Can't fucking wait.
have sex
Without a doubt the closest thing
the elder scrolls
You can read both in a year.
How do you determine if a book is bad or good?
This
Detective strongoak and the case of the dead elf seemed like a good book until it totally shat itself at the end.
>story is set behind the wall
>>open world
>character is a wildling who maintains sentience after resurrection (like Benjen)
>story is about taking revenge on the people who killed you and your village
>tidbits of lore flesh out what life was/is like behind the wall
>player kills boss wightwalkers and gains stat bonuses
>player is able to gain many abilities, one of which is warging into certain enemies and ice powers
>cameos from characters in the book who act like DS NPCs
Obviously your college professors and/or government will tell you what is good or bad.
Unironically this. It just HAD to be point and click and it just HAD to be made by a studio that specializes in just that. Anything else, besides maybe a DnD/Pathfinder-like RPG wouldn't work because Game of Thrones is about people talking and political intrigue. Or so it was until HBO decided to make it into your typical action movie.
Unfortunately Telltale games' hands were tied (too many characters from the TV show in the game) and they couldn't let the player have any control over even the smaller details of the story.
But my government does not have my best interests at heart, how can I trust their judgment.
inb4 WESTEROS TOTAL WAR
That would be cool if they set it during the long night.
Is the 2012 game worth playing?
Is this series even good? Everyone always talks it up. Please explain in video game terms.
HOW DARE YOU QUESTION YOUR GOVERNMENT ONLY THEY KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU
It did retard, but that was half your lifetime ago

Not really, gameplay itself is stiff and bad, the voice acting and graphics aren't very good, the story is some retarded shit about what if the mad king had also knocked up some maid with the 2 characters you play as being on opposite sides of wanting to help her or kill her that both boil down to "muh honor" and they both wind up dead at the end no matter what you choose
Gritty fantasy setting with a mix of open world adventure, RTS gameplay, sim style base management and politicking, and with permanent character death turned on aside from a few plot essential npcs
In terms of quality, it lines up nicely with the Halo series:
>books 1-3 are excellent (Halo 1-3)
>books 4 and 5 aren't quite as well liked but still fairly good (ODST and Reach)
>"Thrones" is more ASOIAF for people who aren't able to hold out any longer for GRRM to finish the actual good story; it has also thoroughly raped the lore and the writing is terrible (Halo 4 and 5)
>extra novels apparently range from cool to meh but ultimately leave fans wishing they were getting a good mainline entry instead (Halo novels)
It's like MGS where it starts out with lots of intricate politics and hundreds of character relationships but as soon as the actual brains behind the story stops contributing it becomes extremely retarded and contrived.
Starts out like Bloodborne, ends like DaS2.
That's no worse than the stuff James Joyce often put into his works. That very quote sums up much of the prose in Ulysses.
Hopefully never, because both the books, and tv show are casual trash
