As many hours as I put into this game, I never actually beat it. Can somebody tell me what happens at the end with Smoke and Ryder? Also, why did CJ "leave" in the first place. At the start of the game, you're returning to Grove Street. What happened to his mom?

Most of the early Franklin missions are shitting on him when he doesn't want to do hood shit anymore. The best example would be the mission where they try and capture a rival gang member Ryder-Style and drop him off after he identifies Lamar. His friend gets out of jail later and makes a deal with the same guy they just kidnapped, unaware of what happened, meet up and end up in a shootout. They blame it all on Franklin for "Acting like a Snitch".
San franciaco, oakland,and Vallejo would be a good GTA game. Any era really. You got corrupt shit from all diverse backgrounds in all eras

Reminder not only did Sweet guilt trip CJ so hard about his brother's death, he practially says it's his fault his mom is dead. Whatever life CJ lives he's pretty much subsurvant to Sweet because every single thing he does and puts himself throughout the game is to earn Sweet's respect unknowing that Sweet will never respect him because of the aformed mentioned deaths.
Basically, he's his brother's bitch for life when he clearly has all this potential to be more than a killer and thug where as Sweet is nothing but that and is proud of it. "I robbed, stole and hurt people to give my mom and my sister a life you bitch, what have you done other than keep me from being raped and killed in prison for months and eventually manage to even get me out of an air tight life sentence thereby allowing me to continue to control your life?"

There's also the issue of Big Smoke, a former friend of CJ being the drug kingpin of LS causing the South Central LS area to descend into further decay.
It never occured to CJ that Tenpenny would be acquitted of all charges due to killing every single person who could testify against him.

Reminder that his career as Mad Dogg's manager only happens because he helped his poser friend kill the guy's manager and his girlfriend along with stealing his rhyme book and killing his hostages and later after that and being responcbile for the poser getting a career he teams up with Mad Dogg to go after him,too. CJ's a sociopath who only sees himself as a victim and the game rewards him for it.
