When will the Persona series commit to an adult oriented setting instead of punking out and rehashing the same coming of age story until we're all in nursing homes?
When will the Persona series commit to an adult oriented setting instead of punking out and rehashing the same coming...

never because people still buy it
but they've already done that
I wish they went ahead with Dojima being the killer, Adachi is Elliot Rodgers-tier and Izanami was a massive literally who.
dojima is such a dilf
They already did with Persona 2 Eternal Punishment and it was okay but had a lot of wasted potential
The series you're looking for is Shin Megami Tensei.
hot damn, early Kanji looked fucking based
I hope they recycle that design or something similar for Persona 6
sorry but that's not marketable to otakus
Most SMTs also star high school age teens, only SJ had an adult protagonist.
Imagine being lusted after by Maya
It would be a wild ride
Why force persona to change instead of just making another megaten spinoff that is essentially persona with an adult cast?
>will the Persona series stop being the Persona series
I hope not
*Yea Forums
She can whoop my ass anytime.
but this still centered around a fucking high school
>ywn be femdommed by maya
Never ever, Japan can't into adult protagonists.
If Im not mistaken wasn't that the point of this franchise in the first place, or at least a big chunk of it? I thought they said they that they wanted "MegaTen, but in high school" as a series after If?
This
Maya was both the oldest and first female protag for the persona series

Why is Japan so obsessed with high school? Is life over there that depressing that people are kept in a state of perpetual immaturity?
>when will this series remove it's core theme
are you retarded?
Pretty much. High school is the most exciting and interesting time of everyone's life, before they go on to get a job a s a life long wageslave and eventually suicide.
Atlus is incredibly cynical when it comes to the Persona franchise. Adult characters simply aren't as marketable as high schoolers.
Why are westerners so fucking stupid?
I can see them do a Persona spin off about adults, maybe something like Catherine. I wish they would make a Catherine sequel of some kind.
Explain how he's wrong.
Because they are catered to young people, same with hentai even if it's supposedly for 18+
Maybe they could split the difference and set it in a university? That could mix things up a bit while still making it possible to structure the game around classes/socializing and an academic year.
Isn't Persona already a teenage spinoff of Shin Megami Tensei?
Persona's main appeal is SMT but in high school.
If you remove that then it's just a normal SMT game.
No, Shin Megami Tensei is a spin-off of Persona.
>she starts feeling bad about it and consoling you instead
That's good too
This desu. SMT is always been the spin-off from Persona series.
And yet Persona is the most prominent and profitable franchise.
this
I wish Catherine was a legit SMT game and not just a glorified Q-bert clone
No one gives a shit about SMT anymore. The appeal of Persona is not SMT related at all. The appeal is it's an RPG mixed with a high school anime life simulator.
