I think I still need to play it, but it looks fun.
wasn't it from a small studio? if so that would explain why there's no sequel yet.
It was made by one person
it's okay. I've played it once but felt no need to replay it ever since.
I loved it. The map was sick, the game was trippy, there was an element of mystery and getting stuck in the top right part of the map for a couple of hours was stressful. Great game
>I think I still need to play it, but it looks fun.
It's an excellent game, would highly recommend it.
It's pretty good. Most of it is pretty standard fare but there's one section that blew my mind, spoilers:
when you control one of the bosses because of the fever
pretty impressive.
It’s the Dave Rubin game
This is being made by one person.
>make game to fund sons chronic illness treatment
>publisher steala your money
that dev is so fucking unlucky
I liked it
Fell for the tons of dialog in a platformer is good and not interruptive-meme. Otherwise good.
??context
Just play it in speedrun mode, it disables all the dialog.
No sequel cause the publisher ran off with all the devs cut of money or something. I'm probably getting it way wrong but there was some news about it if you search it up.
>Creator makes a game to fund treatment for his sick child
>Publisher refuses to pay him the quarter million he's owed.
>After a legal struggle over physical copies of Axiom Verge for the Wii U, its developer is continuing the battle with defunct company Badland Games. Badland Games, responsible for producing physical copies of the action-adventure title, promised to contribute 75% of their sales cut to a medical fund for developer Thomas Happ’s son, Alastair. Alastair suffers from kernicterus, a rare neurological condition arising from jaundice that can result in seizures and sensory issues. But, according to Dan Adelman, the company never followed through on its promises.
>In a Twitter thread last Friday, he criticized Badland Games for its actions. After initial issues funding its production, Limited Run Games offered Badland a $78k advance on manufacturing and distribution in the EU region. These funds were to be used for manufacturing copies for the Wii U. According to Adelman, however, Badland became silent when it came to paying out profits to Happ’s medical fund. Limited Run Games stepped in to distribute physical copies in the NA region instead.
>[Badland] wanted to keep the publishing rights in Europe. EU distribution is a lot more complicated, so we agreed. Badland was able to fund production for the EU market and finally launched there. When it came time to pay Tom Happ his share for EU sales & contribute to Alastair’s health care fund (which Tom had to pay a lawyer to establish), Badland went dark on us.
Furries aren't people.
Where do you see furries?
different games, different aesthetic, different dev skills, different objective in mind. you don't compare them faggot.
Its literally a furry version of link. The creator is a furry and the player base are furries. This disgusting shit is everywhere now.
Can you breathe?
's alright
Can you breath with your nose jammed up your dogs ass you degenerate fagget.
Really liked it. Sick OST, sound and atmosphere, tight combat, fun upgrades, good exploration and decent story. Main downside is that the bosses are pretty boring, mechanics-wise.
It's pretty great, but extremely Metroid inspired. Not to say that's bad, because Metroid is awesome
Cringe.
I liked it but all 90% of the weapons are useless so why bother adding them?
>SymphNight
>Good
Shit chart
It's a 6/10 IMO. Way too derivative of Super Metroid, doesn't really bring anything new.
It's got a good soundtrack, solid aesthetics, okay story, okay mechanics (that fucking grappling hook), piles and piles of useless weapons, incredibly overpowered common enemies that make backtracking everywhere (there's no fast travel btw) a total pain in the ass, while the actual bosses are all super easy, you literally just stand in place and shoot at them while occasionally jumping over some projectiles. Yet some common enemies can 2-3 shot you from full health even if you have everything maxed out. What the fuck was up with that.
>la mulana
>god tier
Chamber of birth alone makes this absurd
>Chamber of birth
You typed "Twin labyrinths" incorrectly.
No of course you do! And if they take longer than a year to come out the devs are lazy faggots! And if the game also costs more than $5 when it comes out they're lazy jew faggots! And if you talk about the game at all you're a shill!
Bland cringe mediocre white kinight fuck niggers generic sjw what were they thinking ohnono no no no no no no!
>muh counter argument
kys shill faggot
Lets be honest, only the gate of guidance, mausoleum of the giants and temple of the sun are tolerable. Every other level sucks ass.
>implying
The waterfall area, the tower area, the cave area etc are all great areas. Twin labyrinths are basically the worst thing in the game, alongside maybe the Chamber of Birth that was mentioned and maybe one more area.
>no Toki Tori 2
>no Full Bore
>no Spider-Man: Web of Shadows DS
>no Mummy Demastered
Could have been better, the late game kinda sucked honestly since the combat just devolves into tanking damage and killing enemies before they can reach you
>Brainlets
Tho la-mulana 2 is better anyway
Thought it was fine but I didn't think it deserved the 10/10s it got.
>La-Mulana 2 is better
Why do you think this?
I passed on this game but, carrion has my interest
It's possible to beat it without a guide unlike the original
Is it as memorable as the original one, though? I'm talking about the original, freeware version, not the remake.
Imagine defending a game where touching an enemy sends you tumbling into an uncontrollable freefall. Hell in chamber of birth you get fucking stuck in the infinite pit if you get hit by one of those stupid bats. And don't even mention the book that makes you immune to bats, its still stupid.
Yeah sure, it has a lot of cool and unique places/puzzles that are definitely memorable. Music alone is already god tier.
Yeah LM1 definitely did fall a bit too much on being bullshit with that shit. LM2 definitely toned it down but still has a few areas where knockback can be annoying as fuck.
How hard is this game compared to hollow knight? I found hollow knight down right fucking frustrating at times. Especially the trial of fools.
Not that hard, there is a difficulty select and the only time it got hard on the hard difficulty was near the end of the game on the last two bosses.
this and never will, in terms of metrovania its on the lower ranks
There's a few areas with long stretches of tough enemies and no save points, but apart from that it's pretty easy. All the bosses can be cheesed.
