Nobody else find it odd that for years halo was "babies first FPS" and mocked but now that it's going to PC it's suddenly a good series again that people can't wait to play? Weird how that works.

That's true. However I still think that vista and 8 are tied for being the worst offenders, mainly for how poorly everything is presented through the gui, even if they're both about equally bad but for slightly different reasons.

Honestly the game played like an HD version of Halo. I thought nothing was wrong with it and I played it on Win7 at the time.
