I miss when a 30+ hour game was a week investment and not a multi month one. But ultimately I'd still prefer it to anything less than 10

I actually avoid short games nowadays, except when they have goos replay value (like arcade games). I never really liked short experiences in vidya, I prefer to be able to enjoy a game until I get tired of it on my own.

The main problem is that most games are not good enough to warrant the extended playtime. So many games are just long cause they're diluted, full of filler and lose their appeal way before the end. If it's like that, I'd much rather the game be honest and cut it short, I don't have time for that shit. If the game is genuinely good then I can play it for however long I need to. I played 140 hours of Witcher 3 and I still would have played more if there were more DLC content.

Same deal when I played through the entire DMC franchise in time for dmc 5's release.
