2. What's your budget for a gaming keyboard?
3. What are the most important things that you take into account when choosing a keyboard?
4. What is your keyboard's color?
5. Would you purchase a membrane keyboard that looks just as cool as a mechanical "gaming" keyboard

1. Membrane (Like 13 years old and still working)
2. If I'd ever buy a new one, maybe 40€
3. Looks cool, price, not a piece of crap
4. Black and gray
5. I've always used a membrane, so yes

60

being able to press 3 keys at once, no shitty placement of shift, being able to type fast, not making a lot of noise
>4. What is your keyboard's color?
black and the leds are set to dark blue
>5. Would you purchase a membrane keyboard that looks just as cool as a mechanical "gaming" keyboard
just did

corsair makes fucking shitty keyboards op, hope you weren't posting this pic for any specific reason besides looking up keyboard on google images

Don't worry, I don't have any preferences.

E-Element Z88
Probably about $60, but I'll use the same keyboard for years so a bit more wouldn't hurt, honestly.
Mechanical, full sized keys, being able to press multiple keys at once.
The keyboard is white but I have pink and blue keycaps.
No, membrane keyboards suck.

>1. Which one do you have?
A cooler master mechanical keyboard that has a numpad, but a similar form factor to a tenkeyless. It took some getting used to actually having to use num lock to use the numpad.
>2. What's your budget for a gaming keyboard?
I spent like $70 on the one I have now. Pretty great deal imo
>3. What are the most important things that you take into account when choosing a keyboard?
Brown switches, small form factor, build quality
>4. What is your keyboard's color?
Black with white LEDs
>5. Would you purchase a membrane keyboard that looks just as cool as a mechanical "gaming" keyboard
No way. It's about functionality, not aesthetics

1. G710 as my main board, K120 as backup
2. $90 max, but it probably won't be a gaming-styled one
3. Comfort and tactile feeling
4. Black with white backlights
5. I haven't had to buy a membrane board in years since I can always cop one or two from work if I really need one

It's just a shame that most decent non-gayming mech boards are more expensive than the gayming ones.

Literally the only thing you need in a keyboard is for it to be as silent as possible, which the supposed high-end mechanical keyboards hilariously fail at. Keyboard is a tool which works best if you don't notice it. The obnoxious click clacking only distracts you from the game.

Attached: 1551842171288.jpg (600x681, 79K)

>gaming keyboard
There's your mistake.
Unless you type a lot it literally doesn't fucking matter.

I have had kailh red first, it sucked, no noise and hardly any feedback. Then, outemu blue, it was good, and now Model M.
You have your fingers resting on the keyboard when you game, you hardly hear shit. I want loud clack when I type here, and that's what I get.

Why do you need a keyboard to be silent? Feedback and feeling is more important, no?

>Mechanical
>200AUD
>Cherry Blues, 60% form factor
>White and Purple
>No

This is true, hobbitposter is just some faggot with weak ears that cannot filter noise. After you use a clicky board for more than a day, the clacking becomes nothing but background sound. And then, you're left with a board that feels much nicer to type on than a membrane or those terrible silent switches.

i have a membrane keyboard and its still annoyingly loud, i play games like tetris where you tap keys a lot and it gets in the way of my tunes

>chinkshit

"chinkshit" switches have surpassed cherries, cherry needs to innovate instead of sitting on their asses.

Redragon has offbrand mechanicals in the $30 range. If you're not sure, go for that.

Kailh is literally nigger tier

GMMK compact or GMMK TKL

Did I travel back in time to 2016? Their Box switches are among the best switches on the market right now, there's a reason they are sold out in a lot of places.

See if you can demo the keyboard/mouse otherwise you're going in blind.

>What do I have
Logitech G910 Orion Spark. I fucking hate it. I want to see it catch fire and explode and get ran over by a tank.
>What's my budget
$150-$200. AUD. So thats like $70-$120 USD because lol exchange rates
>Most important things
A number of things. First of all, it needs to be full sized, fuck off with that tenkeyless or mini keyboard crap. The keys need to have a really fast actuation speed. Macros used to be a focus for me but not any more. RGB is nice, preferably rgb with some sort of software API. Even better if that api is compatible with existing software on my pc.. and ISNT fucking corsair's crap software
>Color
Physically, black. RGB, I mostly use a purple/pink color scheme (some leds are dying so like my scroll lock is set to purple but displays crimson, my S is a different color). I have some software to move my num/caps lock lights to some spare keys and light up green/red if they are enabled/disabled.
>Would I purchase a membr-
No. Membrane keyboards wear out faster and typically rely on rubber domes to spring back the key. If that rubber deteriorates, you lose the bounceback. Keys jam more often on membrane. And of course, membranes are designed as cheap as they can, often resulting in terrible board layouts and key "ghosting"...

I'm looking to replace my keyboard, but I need to double my budget in order to get anything that meets my standards.

Wrong. The feedback is tactile and audible and it’s awesome.

I had Blue switches which were the best but apparently they don’t sell them anymore.

Now I have Razer optical mechanical purples.

It clicks and has a laser on each key to tell it when it’s pressed rather than a button. I honestly only bought it because

1. It had the best feeling switches
2. It doesn’t have a depressed basin the keys sit in which means it’s easy to clean.

I don’t care about the lighting shit but I’ll admit it’s kind of cool and since you can’t really get a mechanical keyboard without it these days, I have it.

Anyone have any other switches?

Linear: gets harder to push as you press, quiet.

Tactile: has a piece of raised plastic that pops over a ledge when the key inputs so you can feel. Seems to be the most popular.

Blue: very clicky very tactile has a different mechanism
Brown: no click but has feedback
Black: heaviest, no click or feedback

The Razer purple is lighter, has less of a pop when you press, and less satisfying click. Sounds plasticky vs metal like a typewriter. However the laser light BS does work quite well and it registers the press very quickly.

Anyway, review above if you have it, I’m curious what people think of linear and tactile. Cherries are very good and durable. Mine lasted over 5 years.

cute post discord

Brown switches feel really good to me, they feel much better than reds. Planning to buy a nice one later down the line.

You better not be up to anything weird user.

1. Which one do you have?
Huntsman, purples
2. What's your budget for a gaming keyboard? $180
3. What are the most important things that you take into account when choosing a keyboard? Feel and sound
4. What is your keyboard's color? Black with rAzer meme lights
5. Would you purchase a membrane keyboard that looks just as cool as a mechanical "gaming" keyboard.

Thé razer ‘méchano-membrane’ one is actually very good. But no I will never go back to membrane, mechanical is far too nice.

PS: DAS gave me 50% of for my birthday when I asked. Very high quality.

I got Razer the second time around because I didn’t want to wait for delivery and Best Buy has Razer, Logitech, and Corsair on display to try all the switches.

Razer mice break a lot, headsets break more, but keyboards of theirs are excellent. I’ve also had very good experiences with their customer service getting stuff replaced but it’s a pain and I have more money than time these Days

>bought RGB mechanical keyboard
>mess around with RGB on first day
>never turn it on again because it's annoying as fuck especially at night from seeing the spazzing colors on your peripheral vision

Does anyone use RGB all the time? How do your eyes not bleed?

I would buy one as a spare keyboard or something but not a primary one if it came with no lettering. Only meme shit about my keyboard is the no lettering

Attached: DK-4-Ultimate-Brown_1024x1024.jpg (1023x551, 47K)

I don't think people actually use the changing colors. Normally you'd set it to something you like and leave it static. My realforce isn't very bright, so it doesn't disturb me at all.

I use the starlight effect, most of the lights are off except a few flicker on and off a dull white.

I also have it light up and fade out when I press a key.
I have the under lights set to an Amber glow like my BMW at night because it’s easy on the eyes at night , aesthetic, dull, and let’s me see the desk if I’m setting something down.

The kone aimo mouse is real nice too.

>I want loud clack when I type here
Why not just get a typewriter

Because you would get arthritis and die in a week of posting on 4chins. It has no touchtype.

Can confirm this, I fell for the meme and got a K70 Rapidfire and it was utter garbage. Sold it and got G413 Carbon and it's by far the best kb I've ever owned

I'm still using my Quickfire from 5 years ago, brown switches. Works great and isn't trashy RGB shit.

Rule of thumb: The only good corsair products are the ones you can't see.

K120
like 80$
how it feels
black
do tell me how "cool" mechanical keyboards look

I bought a blue cherrykeyboard once because it went on sale for like 70€ or whatever
Because I bottom out really hard, it hurt my hands even after short periods
I couldn't be bothered learning how to not bottom out, because I feel like if you learned it, you'd still have to concentrate on it somewhat and it'd be barely faster.

Might have been better if I got dampening pads, but couldn't be fucked, so I just sent it back while I still could.

>1. Which one do you have?

unless it was significantly cheaper no, mech keyboards aren't just there to look "cool" there's barely any reason to actually get membranes now since there are tons of cheap mech keyboards

You’re an idiot.

>Which one do you have?
Some full mechanical Cooler Master, cn't find the name of it on the keyboard itself and I forgot the name it it.
>What's your budget for a gaming keyboard?
Depends really.
>What are the most important things that you take into account when choosing a keyboard?
>What is your keyboard's color?
Black with RGB lights set to a very low white
>Would you purchase a membrane keyboard that looks just as cool as a mechanical "gaming" keyboard
No.

Which Keyboard should I get if my current Keyboard is a Corsair K70 RGB Browns (Giving it to my bro)

1.) Corsair K70 RGB Mk.2
2.) Hyper Alloy Elite RGB
3.) Cooloer Master Mk750

I've heard that Corsair keyboards aren't worth it, but I really like mine. Of course, the Corsair is the only mechanical keyboard I've ever used.

>CM
I'm still salty AF they discontinued the Novatouch. It was the perfect keyboard.

1. Which one do you have? Logitech G710+
2. What's your budget for a gaming keyboard? 100+
3. What are the most important things that you take into account when choosing a keyboard? Longetivity, Cherry MX Brown switches
4. What is your keyboard's color? Black
5. Would you purchase a membrane keyboard that looks just as cool as a mechanical "gaming" keyboard? No, they statistically wear out with less keystrokes

1. I think I have the one in OP, actually. I got it for half price, it was mismarked. It has brown switches, which I like now that I'm not in graduate school anymore and typing lord knows how many words in a day. Space bar is complete trash though.
2. I ain't spending much on a goddamn keyboard anymore, I don't type at home like I used to. I got my work to pay for my fancy keyboard for the office.
3. Blue/brown switches, effective layout, numpad.
4. I dunno, it's in OP. I guess black.
5. I'll never buy/use a membrane keyboard ever again, unless it's a needs must type of situation.

mechanical
30$, I bought a chink one
how it clicks
black and its base is made of aluminium
nah

Like
said, only get corsair keyboards at a huge discount. If you just want a flashy mechanical keyboard, get one off aliexpress.

Corsair is really just for stuff that goes into your computer. If it's in the case, odds are it's pretty good stuff. The peripherals are ripoffs.

>1. Which one do you have?
Several, wich i got em for pretty cheap
>gigaybet k83
>hyperx alloy fps
>Corsair K90
>Cherry MY 800
>several chink hotswappable keyboards
and two projects in progress, a handwired quickfire rapid and a Unitek K-258 wich i literally found in the streets, fully functional but busted switches, wich im gonna replace with matias alps
>2. What's your budget for a gaming keyboard?
idk, all of my keyboards were like 15 bucks or less, or even free
>3. What are the most important things that you takeinto account when choosing a keyboard?
Use, nkro+red switches for gaming and brown/blue switches for typing + comfortable structure and keycaps
>4. What is your keyboard's color?
idk
>5. Would you purchase a membrane keyboard that looks just as cool as a mechanical "gaming" keyboard
The only decent membrane keyboards are the ones that arent targeted to gaymers

Attached: IMG_0020.jpg (3072x2304, 1.83M)

1. Corsair Strafe RGB, Cherry MX Silent Red
2. Got it for 100€ on sale
3. Comfy typing, aesthetics
4. Blue-purple with a simple ripple effect on typing
5. No. I did before I had this one, and I regret it.

I got this: amazon.com/dp/B01ER4B7K6/ref=dp_cerb_1 for 50 bucks. I think it's worth 50 bucks, but definitely not worth whatever the MSRP is. I do like my case, though, it's a corsair. Best case I've ever had, but it's a full tower. I fell for the AIO meme this build, but I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Actually, I lied. I got this one: amazon.com/dp/B07D5S5QKF/ref=dp_cerb_1?th=1 for 50 bucks. So it was 33% of MSRP. Definitely worth that.

What would be a good price? I wouldn't want to pay more than $90-100 for any keyboard. Is that good enough?

Why are good mechanicals so expensive? I have a few I'm looking at that are at least $90. It can't cost that much out of the factory.

There's four price categories for mechs.

How?

K70 Lux cherry blues, unusable after 6 months from keypress duplication, fortunately bought 2 year plan after dealing with G710+ garbage.

Gonna get $30 outemu clone next time.

How does it feel to use 3 adapters?

Marked incorrectly. I got it at a micro center and they caught it, but I was spending around 800 bucks on various shit so they let it slide.

>1. Which one do you have?
HHKB pro 2. Don't buy unless you have cash to spare. It's not worth it despite being my favorite keyboard
>2. What's your budget for a gaming keyboard?
Gaming keyboards are a meme
>3. What are the most important things that you take into account when choosing a keyboard?
Feels nice to type on. At least 6KRO
>4. What is your keyboard's color?
All black. No letters
>5. Would you purchase a membrane keyboard that looks just as cool as a mechanical "gaming" keyboard
No. The only reason I buy keyboards is because I like how they feel

>Which one do you have?
A cheap chink one that had the better font when I got it, still ugly as fuck. Also, loud and some keys have the falco ping.
>What are the most important things that you take into account when choosing a keyboard?
Price, font and if it has an ABNT2 layout.

>not buying "broken" mechanical keyboards for pennies, repairing them and keeping/selling them to the kids for 100 bucks and salvage the ones actually broken for replacements/fun projects like handwired stuff.

Its like you people dont want to save money

Using the G910. Loving every minute of it. I can't use keyboards without additional macro keys to the left anymore. Not for MMOs anyways.

cheap eagletech blue led mechanical keyboard I think it was 25 or 30 dollars. Works great since I got it last july or so. Also looks nice not too flashy nice cool blue.
