>try talk about game zero replies

cant even find it on steam

It's only on ps4, I wish it was on steam and xbox. It makes gamedev so easy.

What is this game about?

Yes
I plan to make a wipeout-like hovercraft but the logic is tough

It's a game about makng games, think project spark. I think the only downside it has is you can't sell games on it.

So, the devs didn't make a game, but instead selling you tools to make games for them, so they could profit from your work, while you don't?
Why would you buy something like that?

there will be a story mode when the game is fully out
bait harder

>tards only now realizing how easy game engines are but instead of using an actual engine they use a toy they can't do anything with the product they created

>Game maker
>Console exclusive

Attached: 1548329067031.png (464x416, 64K)

just fuck off shill

Sorry OP, you can't talk about PS4 exclusives here with this board's raging hateboner for anything Sony does

Plus it doesn't have keyboard and mouse support. At least not to my knowledge. Either way, with the precision of that on PC it would be really fun. But i refuse to use the waggle sticks to make anything.

Attached: farnsworth.jpg (80x119, 3K)

>You can make any game in it.
Yes I can make any number of boring 2 minute distractions, but why would I

It's alot of fun for prototyping. I get your point though.
>DONT TALK ABOUT GAME THAT JUST CAME OUT
Are you serious?
I think you can type things out though I haven't tried it.
>captcha

Attached: Dreams™_20190417173949_1.webm (1280x720, 2.68M)

Eh, I like to add attention to detail. If you have it, plz let me know if it has keyboard mouse support cuz then i'm defs down for a go. Anyway, is it any fun?

Attached: cronosmax.jpg (292x500, 15K)

I think it's fun to play. I can try plugging in a keyboard and mouse. I am pretty sure you can type things in. I just started using it so it can be like 5 minutes. I want to make games oneday so it sucks you can't sell games.

all I've seen so far is time trial bullshit, platforming, and other dumb shit. we're gonna have another no man's sky situation where the dev guy was like "ah it's amazing you can make anything in the game you could recreate your favorite game!!" and it turns out you can't do anything else than place premade assets around, and put a little timer to see how fast you can make it. I mean technically he's right as long as your favorite game is a shitty little platformer

seriously fuck off, nobody wants to talk about this garbage, and not all your amount of shilling is gonna change that
go back to retardera and try there for a full dick sucking, faggot

Right now it heavily uses motion controls. So I don't think an adapter would work.

if you want to make games, learn to fucking code, not use a shitty glorified stage builder

Keyboard is for text entry only. Mouse is not supported at the moment. This might change if enough people request it, the devs are open to feedback

>you can't do anything else than place premade assets around, and put a little timer to see how fast you can make it.
absolutely false, play the game before shitposting

Sorry, but too busy making penises in Smash at the moment.

> PS4 Full SixAxis support has now been added

fuck off programmer scum. there's nothing less creative than a fucking coder and his square bland mathy robo brain

>not making Smash in Dreams then making penises in Smash in Dreams

I like the appeal of random small little games. It's like browsing /f/, you'll never know what weird things you'll find. LBP was weighed down by that awful platforming, but this has variety on its side. But then again I enjoy the art games and joke games.

But will it feature him?
Isn't this from the developers of LittleBigPlanet?
I'm sure that these guys know one or two things about making a "create your own game" type of vidyagaym.

>MUH SHILLIng

So Yea Forums really does love talkng about games they haven't played.

the devs made a functional Sackboy model and recreated the 1st level of LBP1 for the 10th anniversary, but they didn't publish it

Attached: dreams pod.png (853x437, 390K)

Yeah it is.

I remember watching a video saying they don't do crunch time. No wonder the game took 7 years to get to ea.

What's the story mode about ?

looks like you'll never be a game developer then buddy, have fun playing stage builder sim 2019

I really wish some of these dev tools were on PC instead of being stuck to an underpowered console on a fucking controller.

>voxel-based sculpting terrain tools
>flexible music / sound editor
>in-engine rigging and animator

You could sell all these separately for serious dosh

>THE SAME 4 BAIT THREADS

>ONE THREAD ABOUT A GAME THAT CAME OUT 2 DAYS AGO

>Yea Forums - Anything but video games

Glad we understand one another. Now fuck off.

no thanks I'll wait for the PS5 version

Thanks for the free bumps.

Okay good job, you alienated the casual player (who will be scared off by the complexity/business model) as well as the hardcore player (who can just use Unity).

We don't know much about it yet since it won't be in the game til full release, but it's 3 short stories. one as a bear with a hammer, one as a little robot in a neon forest place, one point and click style with some artist guy
It'll only be a short story made as a showcase for the tools, like LBP

It too mm 7 years to make a ps4 version. Can you really wait another 7?

>Too detailled for normies to make anything worthwhile in
>Too constrained for people actually interested in making a game

Should've developed it for PC and allowed people to sell their creation.

Cheers user, will look into this.

I'll have to check it out with what these other anons have shown me Cheers for checking for us user.

Dreams uses the ps4 movement controllers a lot I don't know if that will be enough.

It's not going to work unless you can somehow map mouse inputs to DS4's gyro.

all the engine R&D and groundwork is done already. A port wouldn't take long

They don't do crunch user.

still, the hard part was developing the engine and tools, and that's all pretty much complete by now

I was just kidding. I really wish it wasn't exclusive. It really is crazy intuitive to make a game. And since it's ps4 exclusive it probably won't ever be able to make commercial games on it.

Attached: pepe-the-frog-2png.jpg (800x800, 71K)

you can use the dualshock 4 like a normal human being

they said something about potentially exporting to PS store to sell as a full game some years back, but it's still a long way off if that's ever gonna happen
might be the reason sony has funded this project for so long, though

gross. I barely touch my PS4 unfortunately. But its a good blu ray player at lease.

Even then you might as well use a real engine so you can sell to more platforms. I think it might be a last guardian kinda deal where it has been in development for so long that they couldn't cancel it. Sony really hasn't advertised it at all. state of play was like a week ago and nothing. Media molecule deserve better.

On the flip side if people could sell their shit then the pool of user created levels would be clogged with shitty 99c games and all sorts of greedy shit. I would rather everything was free desu. Maybe give a donate-to-the-author feature.
They would never call it "donate" though, every fuckign company skims money from that sort of thing. See: Valve's TF2 map stamps.

I agree, there is a cool feeling of clicking any games and not having to pay for any. It kinda is a mess in terms of potential.

HIRE THIS MAN

SONY DOES WHAT NINTEDONT! Only on playstation.

Attached: 1549143444569.jpg (251x242, 15K)

Or you could just use UE4 which is far more powerful, why would you pretend to be a "serious dev" using what is simply a game about sharing custom levels?

Been making weapons, animations and portraits since logic and music aren't something I'm familiar with. Maybe someday I'll make a game in this.

Attached: Oh my.jpg (126x126, 2K)

Does it take long to model something?. I am slowly going through the tutorials. I have done the music tutorial it was pretty simple what do you have trouble with?

Can you export any of the assets?

It's not just levels like in LBP. Your able to record sounds and compose music out of it, create characters and objects with whatever kinds animations you can come up with. You can also just take people's works and customizer / use them together to make something new.
The idea is that this is a very flexible game engine for a console rather than something to be compared to a UE4.

Fuck everyone who hates this game.

This shit is comfy as hell.

its a really nice engine based on visual scripting logic. Can see contributors from godot to take stuff from this

I hope someone makes some good child porn games

They could place all those elements in a game actually worth your fucking time though.

Yep, I'm thinkin' this is GOTY
mobile.twitter.com/ThePetronious/status/1118280882752765955

How hard is it for a -200 iq smooth brain that doesn't know anything about modeling or programming to get into this game?

Attached: 1554080929260.jpg (600x398, 31K)

It takes a while getting used to controls but the more you create the quicker you get with the tools and thinking up easier ways to create stuff.Experiment with different settings, look up guides and take apart people's creations to see how they have built things.

Any good freeware modeling applications on pc? Where would be a good point to start?

if you have to ask if you're too dumb to play a videogame then yeah you're retarded

youtube.com/watch?v=jDzUUwyxcm0

how do people make shit like this?

At first you feel like a complete retard depending on your choice of controls, as you discover new tools and how they work you will find a way to create something. The in game tutorials are pretty helpful for beginners and people recorded a ton of how to videos during the Beta some of which go pretty deep into things like programming.

A Smash thread died for this

oh ok

Attached: 1540330536234.png (657x527, 63K)

Blender?
Anyways godzilla playable model.

Attached: Dreams™_20190419005829.webm (1280x720, 2.86M)

Blender, don't expect friendliness though.

They're making a full single player campaign

Finally, Yea Forums will be able to make its own video game.

why is it so cheap?
will it be full price once it comes out?

Because it is early access right now. It basically only has creator tools, tutorials and people can upload and play games right now. Probably will add more tools or change things on full release and add the story mode. Yes.

>Yes.
it will be more expensive my bad.

I played a fuck ton of lbp and even got the crown and bug blaster suit. But it's 2019 now and I can't be fucked with consoles anymore. Shame it's not on PC, but whatever. I just can't bring myself to dust off the ps4 and hand over £60 for game and £60 for plus just to try and relive the past. Those days are long gone.

It's like 30$ right now since it's early access.

Can I make a multiplayer SEX game? I can finally have sex, like all these anons tell me to.

and its still locked away on the dusty old console buried under my TV. Not interested

I think it would get flagged no R rated content. But I am pretty sure yes.
This seems more complicated.

hug simulator then? That's PG-13.

>any game
Can you make decent rhythm games? How's input delay? How about bullet hells and 2d fighters?

If you want to invite your friends over to play it, you can't publish anything like that but if you keep it as private nothing will happen to it.

Yeah and you'll get full release if you have early access

yes you'd have to make the animations though.
Theres a guitar hero rip off already. I'm not sure about all that other stuff. I just got the game yesterday.

Yeah you can make all of those if you know how

Input delay depends on how many super detailed objects are on the screen at once, all of those already exist in some forms and can be made since everything is customizable to the smallest detail.

Variable input delay sounds awful unless it can be precisely controlled in a repeatable/consistent way. If it's just a case of using basic backdrops with only the notes to reduce clutter it'd be fine but not sure how viable it'd be as a fully fledged rhythm game.

I want to fuck connie

Can you still buy it? Beta was fun someone give me a webm of the killer queen puppet and the pod racer.

should be still up for purchase

>keyboard support
It does you can cool stuff with text

Attached: text.webm (640x360, 2.25M)

Someone post the patapon figures. Just search under creation mode there were several in the beta.

Webms take me a couple of minutes is this what you meant?

Attached: Patapon 2.jpg (1920x1080, 87K)

yes there was a theater of them

Is there enough precision control over physics/mechanics to be able to accurately replicate specific platformers (DKC, Crash, Mario jump physics for example)?

Yeah i bought it. Auto surf is crazy.

Attached: DreamsIdioticSingleAkitainu.webm (1920x1080, 2.37M)

>Plus it doesn't have keyboard and mouse support. At least not to my knowledge.
You wouldn't want keyboard and mouse. The input is too limited. PS4 has many buttons and shortcuts that are easily accessible through a shift key (L1 and R1) and also the motion sensor where this is its best implementation ever.
>Either way, with the precision of that on PC it would be really fun. But i refuse to use the waggle sticks to make anything.
The PS4 has better precision because its faster but just as precise. The triggers do a lot of the legwork here because depending on how deep you press it, you are able to move slower of faster.

Attached: DyBTOKtUUAAUA38.jpg (1200x900, 136K)

This took them a whole console generation to make and it's gonna flop. LBP has run it's course. What's next for them?

Has anyone made sony never ever guy yet?

Attached: D4YNDPVXkAI3nAB.jpg (1920x1080, 231K)

I was thinking of doing it but my artistic skill is trash. I should take the PsMove tutorials since I have them for VR.

This reminds me of Soul Calibur character customisation at launch. For a week everyone will share pictures/videos of unique stuff that can be created, but nobody is actually playing the game.

How bout a mario webm? Yeah it is specific enough.

Attached: new.webm (1280x720, 1.26M)

Can this shit have multiplayer lobbies?

yes that one thanks. I should be possible to make a new patapon with this.

Attached: DyWPmanXQAALUnk.jpg (1200x675, 80K)

I don't think it does now. But I just googled
>Dreams Will Support PSVR at Launch, Online Multiplayer Coming ...
www.pushsquare.com/.../dreams_will_support_psvr_at_launch_online_multiplayer_c...
And in an interview with gameinformer they said you can make a battle royale so probably yeah. But not right now to my knowledge.

Never ever man doesnt take a skilled artist, give it your best shot

replicating anything is difficult for someone with no artistic skill.

Make him hold dreams in his hands.

I bought Little Big Planet back when it came out on PS3, but almost never played it because I'm not creative. Is it worth getting Dreams? I'm still not creative.

Pretty cool. Everything I've seen so far has had generic jump mechanics instead of deliberately capturing a single series. It'll be great to see people attempt DKC or Yoshi's Island with hover jumps and jetpacks.

If you want to play other peoples games. I think making things is fun but there are a lot of tutorials. But it did just come out so most games aren't that long or great. .

You can play other peoples creations

Or you can take other peoples characters and props and make a simple game or level

I think Dreams will be worth getting at all costs when it releases properly. It is only in early creator access now.

oh yes i'm sure those hundreds of wojaks and frogs that are constantly posted here took really artistic inviduals to make

But they have the benefit of being able to copy and paste you know!

Wait and see how it goes. Most games seem to be tech demos to show off engine capability, they're not exactly full playable experiences. It'd get old pretty fast to have a big library of 5 minute showcases of mechanics in their own little bubbles. It seems like you at least need to be creative enough to enjoy using the share tools to get inspiration and steal pieces from other things you play to create your own thing.

>IT HAS BEEN OUT FOR 2 DAYS
People have had access for more than 2 months, the best thing we've seen is a shitty FPS.

Only a true basedtard would buy this now.

Anyone with half a brain knows that "community made content" never really works. It is actually a billion of shit assets being shat out into the servers.

I bet half of the things made for this will be shitty movies like in LB2. Who gives a fuck about this.

Maybe in 5 years this might be worthy getting from the bargain bin since maybe there will be around a dozen good enough 15 minutes long games in the MM Picks.

Attached: 1553386935765.jpg (1024x762, 144K)

90% of the fun of LBP is playing user created levels.

and as can already be seen, it makes early access tier garbage

We gotta wait till some makes a decent wojsk in dreams then everyone can copy paste it

this, it's incredibly obvious that this basically just amount to broken game ripoffs and some clunky mini games

sure there'll be a few who spend a year making some stupid level but it'll be shit compared to an actual game, you'll only be impressed because it's done within the game, which doesn't make a difference if you're looking for a good gaming experience, not some early access devs tech demo

Why would you play this shitty platformer when there's already kreedz, surfing and bhopping in cs 1.6?
youtube.com/watch?v=t88fznKQ6IE

>We gotta wait till some makes a decent wojsk in dreams then everyone can copy paste it
Yep. There has got to be one artist on Yea Forums who has Dreams.

>first person platforming
cringe

I'm on it, let's hope the thread lasts long enough for me to finish it.

Unreal 4 already makes game dev easy. You won't be creating complex games but you can easily makes these sort of demos with minimal knowledge, you'll still need to learn the logic and principles behind programming though. Game dev being this easy would have been ridiculous to think about 10 years ago.
It would be harder than using Dreams sure, but you'd have far more options and could actually lean into you learning to program and make actual games.

Because 99% of bhop, surf, and jump maps are autistic trial and error pixel perfect guantlets rather than being enjoyably challenging levels with more than one route.

Especially fuck all those TDM surf maps where there's like two routes and most of the fighting takes place in the jail. Shitty game makes you have the accuracy of Michael J. Fox when you're surfing which makes fighting while surfing impossible.

okay but what about that is worthwhile?

Attached: dreamsoJKebBeDwNg.jpg (1920x1080, 89K)

we don't know, they haven't shown much of it off

penis spider

no no you can do anything but it won't compare to actual games because the shit made in this is not made by people who know how to make things and the game engine itself is not as flexible as professional ones

>What about a video game is worthwhile
Why are you even on Yea Forums?

Attached: SpotlessUnderstatedBuzzard.webm (1920x1080, 1.98M)

well you're retarded if you don't understand what I just asked
okay so it has a campaign, but what about it is worthwhile, as in what the fuck is the campaign? is it something actually worth playing or is it going to be a series of mini games or some shitty experimental stuff made to show that you can do all sorts of shit in this game?

It's probably gonna be something similar to the LBP campaigns

It is a campaign of 3 different types of games interweaved with each other. One is a point and click adventure, one is a 3rd person platformer/brawler and one is a 3rd person platformer/puzzler.

Attached: dreamsCanineTastyDormouse.webm (1920x1080, 2.46M)

Show me more. Especially the beat em up.

Will Dreams have a physical release or will it be digital only?

Who thought it was a good idea to have that much motion blur?

We can always make more threads

How do they approach IP protection? Can someone create their own Rayman/Mario game and upload it freely or will it mysteriously disappear if it gets too many downloads?

yes you can but barely anything will ever actually replicate something, it'll only kind of work

at least that's my bet, enjoy your floaty and weird looking super mario 64 remake

Physical release is coming

No clue but it is half off if you get the ea version which is digital only for now.

It looks like a horror game, sempai, like the excessive blur is meant to serve the atmosphere in some way.

Can I make Free Cities pregmod with it?

it's a shitty replica of silent hill tp tech demo and you know it

It's a remake of PT, which did not have nearly that amount of motion blur.

melon

I got that, but it looks like it's trying to be its own thing? I don't remember PT being so red

But can you make NiGHTS... into Dreams?

Attached: 1546413054498m.jpg (720x1024, 87K)

Describe that game. But probably.

I thought the same initially, but people have already gotten 99% of the way to capturing 2D mario physics as seen in . 3D will take longer to perfect but I'm sure it'll happen.

If it was trying to be its own thing it wouldn't copy the exact placement of everything.

That motion blur is bad-scary, not horror-scary.

It is very limited what we have seen so far since they haven't given many gameplay demos of the main game campaign yet. Here is a screenshot some user posted because he used a hacked ps4 and played a version of the unpatched Dreams Beta or something.

Attached: 1548807440522.png (339x398, 239K)

I might take a stab at making something like Toy Commander

Attached: file.png (220x215, 145K)

There is a part in P.T. where it looks like that. It isn't motion blur it is something else. youtu.be/hmTBmx6J_54?t=16

Attached: Dreams PT work in progress.webm (1280x720, 1.43M)

Somebody already made one

Economic/management game.

Attached: end of turn 8.23.png (1015x881, 184K)

it's supposed to be high exposure in a dark scene as it's supposed to be an actual camera

when you keep the shutter open in a camera for longer it will produce blurry looking shit if you move the camera around

>Free Cities
Is it just text probably yeah?

I never understood this kind of games. Why would I make a game in here instead of making an actual game? Can I make my own FPS with online servers? Can I profit? What is the appeal?

this is for people who want to quickly make some bite sized experiences just for fun, not actual games

That makes sense. I believe Kojima also used that in MGS quite a bit.

Attached: DreamsDarkSoulsArt.webm (650x364, 2.89M)

And done.

Attached: D4c_tcXX4AExofw.jpg (1920x1080, 142K)

Yea, but if I may to give you an example of game that allows to create minigames inside of it that people enjoy playing, Gmod for example. Does this game do what Gmod does? Or is it just project spark?

TOP KEK thats what im talking about

Attached: 1503950371472.png (250x260, 35K)

Yes you can remix entire projects and change or add whatever the fuck you want

this is like a more artistic version of that because in this one you can create your assets in the game through sculpting

I dunno if this'll be as enjoyable as gmod but I can tell it's not as bad as spark

This isn't even true. There are games in there that are already like 3-4 hours long and the creator keeps adding to it.

Attached: 1547402708516.jpg (3264x2448, 1.75M)

But can you create servers for let's say TTT? Can you develop a community around minigames that people or you have created?

Spark was complete ass, this is coming from somebody that played it both. Spark isn’t even a fraction of what Dreams is capable of

okay it's for all kinds of people but I think 99% of content will be bite sized because not a lot of people want to spend tons of time making mediocre shit

>pay money to do the job if game devs

Holy fuck

Is it remixable? What name if I want to use it? Gj

based

Can you make a hand holding the dreams game and never ever in greentext?

Why is there no /vg/ for this?

It's not popular enough to sustain a permanent thread

There was hardly any content worth playing it just came out. Also I guess most people are too lazy to webm.

Creators are creators and they can make whatever they want. I don't see why they would limit themselves. You will mostly see smaller things in the beginning at least, for obvious reasons.

Make a game and post and talk about it here.

I'm just saying what I think the average creation will be
there's less appeal to spending tons of time on a project in this compared to using PC tools for obvious reasons, sure it'll have it's line rider tier mega contraptions

Sorry but I got too much personal info attached to this account. I dont want one of you jokesters getting their hands on it.Hol up

/agdg/ has so many bitter nodevs someone should make a /dreams/ thread when there is enough people interested less you want people complaining about dreams in addggddy. Even this thread is just 5 people talking over and over.
thats cool.

I'm probably not going to get this because I'm not a fan of games supported by user content but it looks pretty novel.
Can't wait to see all the short little JRPG adventures that'll be made out of it.

>use game to advertise the PS4
>don't release it until after you've announced your working on the PS5
Bravo Sony. Really sums up this whole shitty console generation.

Kind of like modern Roblox? hmm, if there are people actually building up short little games rather than just micro experiments, I think I'll pick it up when it goes on sale.
I bet you could easily make some great Marble Blast levels in this game.

>/agdg/ has so many bitter nodevs someone should make a /dreams/ thread when there is enough people interested less you want people complaining about dreams in addggddy. Even this thread is just 5 people talking over and over.
Yeah you are correct. And the fact that you can't sell it and it's PS4 exclusive is gonna get you eaten alive. Things in the past like Petite Computer and Smile Basic are ignored. RPG Maker games even had to break off.

I think line rider is the perfect example in Dreams current form. However, the end goal is to monetize the creations in Dreams however there are some issues that they are trying to solve. Those issues involve the fact that creation is highly democratized at the moment, and how will I monetize a level (youtube style) and not give anything to the contributors who may have uploaded a music track to Dreams somewhere that was used in the said level.
But they have said that they have every intention of letting the community eventually release games on PSN.

It is in early access right now and it is quite cheap.

Attached: DreamsRocketJumpingMechanics.webm (1000x562, 2.92M)

>However, the end goal is to monetize the creations in Dreams however there are some issues that they are trying to solve.

dropped

>Plus it doesn't have keyboard and mouse support.
That's as retarded as saying you refuse to use a wacom tablet for illustration because M&K are better.
Waggle for 3D is the best possible input method. Keyboard would only be needed for horribly designed programs like every single one on PC, and even then there are only a handful of shortcuts you use frequently (which I assign to my limited Cintiq side panel - I rarely touch the keyboard) but the shortcuts in Dreams were designed from the ground up around DS4 or Waggle so I don't understand why you'd ever want to use a keyboard (where you could only assign as many buttons as the PS4 has anyway, even with 3rd party converters - it would be meaningless)
The only thing missing from waggle is pressure sensitivity, but I imagine that's more than made up by the precise and instant 1:1 control in 3D space.

t. Drawfag

of course it's cheap, there is no game, and better yet devs own right to anything made in their engine making you sucker for even trying.

You don't need to have ANY experience in modelling nor programming whatsoever.
Just perseverence to learn how to create things in this game maybe some artistic talent and imagination of course. So if you have a very specific idea in you head you always wanted to see come to life you literally can do it yourself in Dreams.
I guess the only requirement is not having ADHD and the attention span of a cat.

I'm a mechanical engineer and I work as designer, I only use kb&m. Why would anyone listed to drawfag?

>devs own right to anything made in their engine
Lol what do you think they will do with it, sell it? Why do you hate fun?

that'll ruin it, imo it should be donation based at most

Blizzard tried to steal Dota at the time. Nobody though they would but hey here we are.

i got it earlier after seeing this thread and it is kind of fun just to browse through the games.

of course there isn't much created at this point. but there's already some neat stuff. time corruption and polarity are pretty good

Theoretically you could recreate and remake it 1:1

Who gives a shit? You aren't going to find a cheaper package for a DAW, 3D sculpting software and game engine all seamless and all in one like this game. Sure. If you only create to make money in the end, then you might want to wait until they have that implemented (probably PS5 era when that happens).
Did you even read what the problem was? It was entirely solvable.
This is already viable right now. Nothing is stopping you from opening a patreon or something similar, and doing it that way around. I believe one of the more prolific creators have already announced that he will be doing that. (pic related)

Attached: DreamsDeterminedFlawedLiger.webm (954x536, 2.82M)

It means YOU can't do anything with it.

>all seamless and all in one like this game
Blander is all of the things.

if people can charge money for shit made in this game then it's fucking useless

I have my plate full w/ games atm and I know I'm going to get a bunch more when the golden week sale begins, so I think I'll wait. Cute webm though. I hope the monetization scheme hasn't corroded the game by the time I play it.

>Blander
The fuck is that? And does it have a DAW and game engine built-in? Where can I find out more about that? What is the price? Is it a highly professional tool?

I can play it, thats the whole point

that point is moot anyway. if user wanted to own his own creation he would go out and make his own game like Phil Fish anyway.
No one is raising this retarded point with Mario Maker, ablooblooing that Nintendo owns all rights to your creations and that you can't sell your shit for monetary compensation. It's ridiculous.
Here, have a pity (You)

Attached: here is some pity.gif (480x238, 415K)

What are you talking about? The game doesn't have monetization in it.

Blender's game engine is ridiculously outdated and bad and they removed it in 2.80.
Expecting one program to do everything game-related is a bit silly though, you're better off just setting up a smooth workflow through several programs that do what they do best instead of a jack of all trades, master of none program.

Good thing your line of work has very little to do with this kind of program, CADvirgin.
This is more akin to rapid prototyping in Zbrush, sure you can use M&K but you'd spend 5x the time as someone using a tablet with the same skill level.

For Maya/3DSmax and similar programs then sure, M&K is the same because it's a different kind of workflow. Are you going to say TiltBrush on PC is better played without waggle too?

Blender is open source 3D modelling, animation, texturing, audio and game engine, it's completely free for any kind of use and it's on it's way to killing Maya it has already killed 3DsMax and 4D Cinema.

>if user wanted to own his own creation he would go out and make his own game like Phil Fish anyway.

Attached: phil-fish-giveup.jpg (629x301, 36K)

at the moment that is, but once it becomes a piece of shit literal early access replica it's useless

this
Just because you put effort into something, doesn't mean you have to be compensated with money for it. You can go ahead and live a pessimistic sad life, I'll be having comfy fun over here.

Attached: DreamsSnow.webm (952x536, 2.88M)

>placing arbitrary demands like one software has to do everything
integrating blender and unreal 4 workflow is simple

hehehehe that'll be the day.

There are alternatives to game engines in Blender, that is beauty of blender it;s open source that means anyone can create their own engine and put in blender.

There you go.

Attached: D4dK0lHXkAAV5JG.jpg (1920x1080, 153K)

But it is completely obtuse and has an extreme learning curve. Blender doesn't have everything in one seamless system it just has a bunch of separate internal programs where you have to move from one to the other before you can tinker with it.
In Dreams, you don't have to move from one to the other because everything is in the same 3-dimensional system. You can connect a parameter from a sound filter to an objects' animation speed directly without anything in between.
Not only that, but it doesn't have built-in online functionality where you can share your games and assets with other people, you have to take care of version controlling on your own. Dreams is built to have 100+ people teams working on the same level asynchronously.
It simply isn't the same. It isn't seamless.

You could probably make mario maker lmao

No doubt you could make mario maker. Someone even did it in LBP3, but the physics need some work
youtube.com/watch?v=cTIWNS7MCqM

LBP was really bad for tight platformers. It took way too much effort to get truly tight platforming. But see people are able to make pretty much anything in Dreams.

Attached: DreamsShockedLinedGalapagossealion.webm (952x536, 2.87M)

Neat it would be funny if devs get their games made on dreams so people get it for free instead of buying. Knowing the ingenuity of the little big planet ommunity.

You can't make AAA level games in dreams, the weird splat engine has its limitations. Not to mention the enormous workload that would take

all your webm look mediocre show something nice for once.

this and the puzzle game where you at first jump around with the cone shape thing were pretty good. The lama platformer was also great just like the level with the mirror image. Kinda sad most people don't put in any thoughts on their art style.

Try "Controllable Rolling Object" it is a template that has the crispest visual style of anything I have seen in Dreams so far. It is doggo platformer tier.

That's impressive.

Attached: dreams sheilah.webm (640x360, 745K)

I've been doing tutorials and messing around with other people's dreams. It's a very impressive tool. I already make games full time with Unity, but Dreams is so intuitive and fun to use. I wish some of its features were in Unity (like cloning and mass rotating, so easy to make an arch)

I know I can't fine tune things in Dreams using code and math, but so many things are easier to do. Animation system is amazing too. Just learned how to use the Action Recorder and keyframing, and it's so much better than Unity and Blender's animation system. It's insane.

I hope Unity's VR editor team is taking notes. Dreams actually made motion based editor UI work well.

Obviously I can't make money off of Dreams - at least not directly - so I'm not going to transition to it completely, but I'm going to definitely keep using it as a prototyping tool. It's also very cool to see other people's creation so easily.

Which shit. Theres hundreds of levels in the game atleast.

>unitybab thinking he's a real dev

ISAAC

Will I get the full game automatically if I buy this creator beta thing?

Yeah, there isn't a story mode right now. And I think more things will get added like multiplayer. But you can make and share games.

SONY

NINTENDO
SUE
THIS
MAN

What fucking retard put the info up on the PS store page? The fact you'll get the full game if you purchase this early access thing seems like the most vital piece of info you could possibly include and it says nothing about it.

So does this game have a hub like Little Big Planet does? I don't think I've seen one and it would be a real waste of potential if it didn't.

It does, but you can't do much with it yet. Hopefully they add the ability to place our own objects and characters, maybe even links to levels

I know what you mean I had to google that as well.
It has a kinda home area that you can edit a lot.

Attached: Untitled.png (611x232, 39K)

>Hub isn't just another level you can create that also includes all the hub doodads
Disappointing. Hopefully it changes.

>double jump crutch

DROPPED

That's probably their plan. You can edit it in a limited capacity now, only placing prefab Mm pieces

I think that is a powerup that only has a one time use.

It was notice the upp arrow.

Make an RTS then.

I love the idea behind the game and how well executed it is but in the end I don't think it's going to amount to that many great gameplay experiences, it feels more tuned for those who want to see what people can create

Anyone seen this yet?

Attached: D4daqFOX4AAhWch.jpg (1920x1080, 224K)

What is it?

No idea but it looks great in a stylistic way.

Full circle
youtube.com/watch?v=0J2eGmliJjQ

Someone already did it.

Also to anyone who has the early access try the Tower Defence games. They are surprisingly good and different from each other.

Is there a shooting tag I can't find shooting games that much?

I think so yeah. Try Prometheus.

Attached: DreamsWigglyActualCirriped.webm (1920x1080, 2.66M)

Prometheus is kinda broken now. Devs changed the teleporter gadget's behaviour since beta which fucked the gun animations in that level and others

Yeah, that is true.

Attached: DygDHuOXQAEAaXm.jpg (1920x1080, 103K)

Can you make action games with combat systems or is it too limited?

see

>PS4 exclusive
dropped, damn.

You can but it's never going to be professional quality.

Hopefully I could make something better than that. Looked like ass. Dreams seems cool tho.

see

does every playable character feel floaty and the same? Or, can you adjust how movement works? That's my main fear, the game looks really nice, but I'm scared how the player controls will feel very similiar in every game.

This one was made within the first week of the beta I think. I thought it was pretty impressive. He managed to make the character with its custom animations and even an enemy boss. It feels better to play than it looks like in that webm.

There's about 10 pages of animation and movement tweaks in the default puppet. Only the better creators will bother to change those to make something that feels good, but it can and has been done

Alright that's very reassuring, thanks user.

see

yeah, most likely their entire dev team revolves around a "we will work when we feel like it" mentality.

this game would have most likely been out at least a year or 2 ago if they followed the standard dev cycle.

>tfw you read it it as don't. give. up. it's not worth it.

Attached: 600px-Rambo2_2011.jpg (600x255, 47K)

I just worry too many of the dreams will 'feel' the same because of the templates they're using.

>hype this shit up for years
>release it in an unfinished state
>people care more about smash stage builder than this
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

There are no templates in Dreams tho. The only template-ish thing is the puppet and that is 100% adjustable. There is nothing on it that you can't tweak or that you don't have control over.

Who's a special boy? You are!

Because being creative is fun for people who are capable of it.

People also care more about the Twilight movie series than they care about Studio Ghibli films. Doesn't mean anything. Besides Smash stage builder is an addition to an already wildly popular established IP. Dreams is completely new and not even released yet.

>if you want to make games, learn to fucking code
Do you know how much time or money it takes to learn the trade and make something as substantial as what you can make in Dreams? Clearly not or you wouldn't be saying this. There are people who want to make dumb little games or scenes or whatever without that level of investment, even people who already do know how to make games.

Next week when Japan gets the game.

>Also can I make cel shaded looking things?
No
youtube.com/watch?v=z3Zz2eLW2hE

Why are people in this thread deluding themselves into thinking "I'm making games! People will want to play my barely working proof of concept that requires I buy another game to even play." It's an interesting quirk at best, but one that has already been done before with LBP and that faded into obscurity instantly. Why would anybody give a shit now that people can just use UE, Unity, or GM with better results, the ability to sell tools and creations, and not much more learning involved?

Then you have this guy who thinks he's going to sell his lbp room on PSN for some reason.

>and not much more learning involved

Attached: 1550855196714.jpg (342x342, 56K)

You figure Dreams on PS5 will limit itself to the restrictions of what the PS4 could handle to maintain compatibility, or segregate the created levels between PS4-compatible and PS5-only?

he deliberately comes to a thread he doesn't like to complain

both Unity and Unreal have visual logic nodes and are completely idiot proof. You almost never have to go under the hood these days, contrary to popular belief.

You can emulate the look a little bit. pic not related

It's strange, you never get that kind of seethe in threads for other UGC games. This one is a shitposting magnet for some reason

I will most likely pick it up and waste a ton of time in it without actually creating anything, just like what happens with every game maker I try.

Might be the Sony censorship thing that is bleeding into hate for anything and everything Sony.

you guys made anything yet?
im struggling with the motion controls, they're really inprecise

Right now I’ve been collecting assets to study how their logic works

Took me a few days of playing the beta to get used to gyro controls, but it really is the best control scheme they could've had on a controller

>what is Super Mario Maker

Plot twist: Dreams is literally just LBP 4 and these "games" are one off creations, AKA levels
