Which means, Sekiro...
Which means, Sekiro
Why do I have t ok fight genichiro first every time?
Because he's easy.
because he literally takes less than 50 seconds
Why do they have to fight you every time?
Because the only real challenge of the fight is the Isshin phase 2. Geni is a pushover, phase 1 is a deflect test, and phase 3 is a meme because of lightning reversal.
That very thought and sentiment is part of the point you take away as the player
If you happened to struggle at Genichiro before, or even at the very start of the game in the scripted loss, it serves to remind you of just how far you’ve come
He has the same moveset only with a single bigger attack, yet you easily trounce him like he’s a regular mob to get back to the real fight
It shows that you the player and Sekiro the character have grown immensely in a short amount of time and finally further drives home the weirdly important plot point that Genichiro is a fucking pathetic jobber
Attempting to fight this dude right now.
While Geni and Isshi phase 1 are easy as fuck to deal with, phase 2 really fucks with me, he changes his moveset so dramatically and it's kinda hard to switch you mind set to it. It even seems that being overly aggresive doesn't jam with him all that well in this phase.
In the long run, refighting Geni and phase one will get tedious as fuck, since they pose no challenge, and only get in my way to adapting to phase 2.
Anyone got tips for this shit? Any particular shinobi tools that fuck him over in 2nd phase?
Should I ignore demon of hatred and the minibosses to go straight to this fight anons?
Phase 2 was easier for me because of my defensive playstyle. I just deflected the big sweeps with the spear and the bullets waiting to mikiri any stabs. Phase 3 is a joke, just lightning reversal.
Those bonus prayer beads and attack power help a bit. So if you're not overly struggling with them, go for it.
Also, main tip for demon - run circles around his ass and he'll never hit you + suzaku umbrella helps a lot, especially in third phase.
Only if you don't intend to play this game ever again.
DoH drops a memory which boosts your attack power, and mini-bosses drop beads to boost your health/posture. Although the latter are shared between all game cycles and can still be obtained on NG+.
The missed memories on the other hand will create a permanent deficit of attack power. At least until you pour some skill points into it with the mask. But that would be unrealistically late.
AAAAAAAAAAA SEKIRO-SAMA PLEASE FORGIVE ME
Yeah, I think my agressive playstyle is biting me in the ass with this one.
It's a little shitty since every other boss in the game succumbed to it so far.
Ultra yikes.
>ultra-wide
damn, this looks pretty kino
gomenasai genchiro-kun... looks like i failed you and Ashina
Attack power softcaps at around 20 i think. A few extra points beyond that dont seem to matter. You can compensate for it in ng+ with infinite ako and confetti
i hate the colors in the final fight area
makes it so difficult to tell whats going on
Update: Just got him after 10 tries in total.
Switch to defense in phase 2 and 3 really helped.
>beat Owl 2
just a question but could you deflect the downward stab he does out of the spirit owl? I kept getting hit so I switched to running to avoid it
>you have to fight him because he's easy
>you have to fight him because it takes less than 50 seconds
>you have to fight him because he's a pushover
this is the only legitimate answer, it's not that you have to fight him, you GET to fight him and it's glorious. Honestly tho I already experienced that when he was a big pushover the first time you reach the castle.
yes, but I found it not to be worth it
you can still be aggressive in phase 2 but you just need to realize he can use a couple (2 i think) moves to super armor out of your offense
Might try it on my 2nd playthrough.
phase 2 is mainly just hard because it's so sudden and he kills you in like 2 hits, if he started with it i'd argue it would be easier even if he still had as many lives
>short time
>I been playing it since launch day and still haven't beaten at 60 hours since I only get to play it a couple hours everyday save for the weekend
I only managed beat it in 65 hours, you'll be fine.
Genichiro is for third revive recharge.
Yeah I'm at the end.
I been sweeping up mats, beads, minibosses, and grinding now and then for skill points.
I'll probably save beating it finally this weekend.
