Seriously, why? Old Nintendo felt so soulful, now they don't even try to hide their corporate hollowness
Why is the Nintendo Switch so soulless?
because theres nothing to do on it other than play the 3 games worth buying for it, no Virtual Console, no Miiverse. You could say the same about gamecube but at least it had more than 5 good exclusives on the console
plus all the exclusives on Switch are ports of Wii U games so it just makes the console worthless
who hurt you?

>Old thing GOOD

fuck off already
>you never even see this
>pretty but impractical
>really pretty but even less practical
>straight to point
The gamecube had no menu and the wii u menu is a ghost town now that miiverse died
The switch menu at least beats both of those. I would say it's very comparable to the early 3DS menus, since there are no themes or decorations (yet).
the wii u is one of the most soulless consoles of all time
Neither Wii was very soulful
Fuck off.
Yet the Switch menu is also impractical because only five icons can be displayed on your screen at a time unless you scroll all the way to the end to get to the "show all" menu. There's no folders or any sort of organization options for the main screen.
add gameboy to SOUL
put DS into SOULLESS
you absolute faggot
>Wii
>Old Nintendo
when will we ban all the zoomers
They're probably waiting for users to have more software before they decide on how to build the menu. That's my guess at least. They could have copied the 3DS menus and it would have been golden. But maybe they have some reason not to.
I would like them to get rid of the main menu entirely and use the overflow menu, since you can sort the tiles and it's just better in general. Folders would be nice but aren't necessary if they're trying to copy Steam's library page.
Wii and everything after it are fucking soulless
Really not sure why they would do away with the 3DS menu after they already made all those badges and shit. Nintendo is a mysterious company.
This. shitch was a mistake.
They're obviously pushing for a simple design that translated between the touch screen and TV modes. A lot of the 3DS stuff was designed with touch screen in mind and doesn't scale up that nicely.
Basically, I think they had good ideas with the 3DS but they are thinking about how to fit them into the switch without looking cheap. They had a gold mine with the themes and badges, so implementing them sooner is better for everyone.
and unlike the gamecube, the switch doesn't even have a third party to fall back on when the exclusives aren't there which is A LOT because nintendo only gives out a handful of exclusives per gen and this time most of them were just wii u ports.
>Wii or WiiU
>soul
Literally the turning point of ipod white everywhere and no fun allowed
