Is this game actually good? It's a worthy L4D tps clone according to reviews but I obvious can't trust the shills
If only the product page on the EGS had some kind of review system

>Epic Store exclusive
Nope, it's trash
>headache worthy FOV
>infected literally copy pasted from L4D
>no ultrawide support
>no private lobbies
you heard correct, you cannot make a private lobby of 2-3 mates, you will be forced to play with randoms until the lobby is full, randoms who will often completely disregard your desire to do a stealth run, or team kill you, or rush ahead and steal the medkits
its a 5/10 game at best
I've really enjoyed. it, but we got it as a group. 4channel hates everything new. And old. Go check the plebbit, it's active.
Watch the gameplay for yourself. I don't think it looks that bad. It's left for dead just in 3rd person view and with a fuckton more customization.
i got it tonight and i love it, its actually a worthy game compared to L4D. the characters are great & even the PVP is solid. i really hope it gets updated with more maps and maybe more infected.
also you can tell retards like this havent even played the game since you can simply invite your friends to your lobby then play
>you can simply invite your friends to your lobby then play
And how do you lock the other slots from being filled by randoms, retard?
Hello there shill-kun. I think you need go brush up your english skills. Read what the user you quoted said very carefully, and think about what he said and you might realoze your mistake. Keep up the good work!
>calls someone else a retard
Uh oh, another garbage game from the makers of Battle: Los Angeles, RIPD: The Game and ShaqFu!
its 2019 and there are still zombie games being made
its meh, if you want to try it it got cracked day one so go nuts
isn't it online only?
nah theres an offline mode, your stuck with the AI though.
It's a hard pass for me. I miss l4d, but not THAT much. Still, I was expecting completely unplayable garbage, and it's better than that.
>Go check the plebbit, it's active.
It's also full of glow in the dark niggas.
> (You)
>>Go check the plebbit, it's active.
>It's also full of glow in the dark niggas.
No idea what that means, I get the reddit hate but it's just a resource for me and to see general consensus of games like this that get barely any coverage/seem risky. Honestly I'm really happy with it, and would recommend it to anyone who either has online friends or is prepared to find some.
I'm tired of devs releasing unfinished games. If your product can't even run well on day 1, why the hell are you releasing it?
And then they say we don't have shills.
>The Good
Extremely difficult on higher difficulties, far harder than L4D ever was
Classes are well balanced, and each has a defined roll that matters
Weapons feel good, shotguns are actually viable
The hordes look amazing
It actually feels like you're being overrun when the horde breaks through, rather than just getting KO'ed by one zombie who ran up behind you like in L4D
Have not had any crashes/bugs/errors
>The Bad
You can probably get through all the maps in a few hours, so once you do you're just rerunning them on higher difficulties
Most of the specials feel more annoying than fun to fight against, the screamer is a real fucking pain because you have to run out to find him to stop hordes. Jumpers are basically free chip damage against your HP bar and chargers are either impossible to kill or die instantly
Weapon customization is pretty barebones, you are basically choosing between slightly more range vs slightly better handling
Most of the fighting is just defending an area and blowing up horde pyramids, basically you have a quick 1 minute run to an area, set it up, fight a horde, run to next area, next horde, ect and repeat, there are no long runs like in L4D where you travel across a map for a long period of time.
For $30 I think its worth it, its a challenging TPS zombie shooter where you get to blow up hordes and if you play on harder difficulties get raped by hordes.
>tps
you know it gonna be shit when they do third person shooter, it means they have a lack of vision 90% of the time.
>one click melee combat
1HKO melee, with auto lock-on killing zombies
>shit FOV
This one those games that is shit with randoms, and only good with a buddy where you make fun of how shit x is.
>It's a worthy L4D tps clone according to reviews
those reviews are idiots its trash and without going in with friends be prepared for bot city
>fps vs tps
IT is shit, if feels so bad cause of fov +tps
l4d melee you had to aim, not auto lock on kill.
>REEE you must be a shill
I've been here for a fucking decade, that doesn't mean I keep up with every weird new insult you're using this week. And why wouldn't they pay an actual reviewer rather than shills on a board legendary for hating everything new?
The specials suck, had the screamers spawn out of any shootable location, and the hunters are just fucking annoying. Apparently they make a sound, but I've never heard it. Had a couple of crashes, fell through the map. Friends have had multiple connection issues. Saying that, rest has been ok, and the highest difficulty seems hilariously brutal.
imagine being this obsessed with a fucking toy store lmao it's his identity
>here for a decade
>doesn't know what glow in the dark means
Shame on you shill-kun. If you want me to believe you aren't just shilling a game nobody has ever heard and that hasn't had any marketing for couple rupees then you need to make a post that actually makes me think yiu've played it. Mindlessly spamming that it's good and anybody who disagrees is a retard isn't the way to go.
imagine defending a toy store for """free"""
Any immediate plans to fix performance or are they going to take their sweet time? Did L4D crash at all on launch?
We don't use rupees in Britbongistan, yet. I'm not sure how images would prove legitimacy, and I'm not screencapping from xbox just to give you an image to immediately accuse it of not being mine. I got to level 30 on gunslinger lastnight, and moved to medic, and considering I'm a shill I lost my rupees by criticising server stability in my other post.
It's not my fault you accuse everyone of being a shill because they like something you don't, and you still didn't answer my question: why would they pay for shills here knowing it'll get blasted off the board over paying for streamers/reviewers for exposure?
Because you can have 100 pajeets shitposting all social medias for 10 times less money than one streamer.
I've tried a pirated copy of the game. The game was obviously lame to play solo, but it seemed like it would be fun-with-friends™.
A leveling system with different classes seems like a really good idea in a game like this, I can't say much about the execution of it though. Vermintide 2 also had this but realized differently, I'd say that VT2's implementation was generally good.
The character design is surprisingly good, girls are cute and the guys look pretty cool. This is only true if we disregard the USA level, though. They really went full retard there with 2 nigs, 1 Mexican and 1 jap girl.
Zombies are alright but a clear step back from L4D2, both in visual design and game play regarding the specials. The gore is okay, but not as chunky as L4D2, VT2 or KF2.
The gun sounds are some of the most pathetic I've ever heard, just terrible.
I also feel that the game has really bad mobility for a TPS, the really should've just straight copied RE6, which had amazing controls and movement. You should at least be able to do some kind of roll, I think.
The FoV is also really bad, but this should be an easy fix.
All in all, I'm sure it's an alright coop game, but I'd at most buy it for 10€ when they release it on Steam. Mod support could also turn it into a genuinely good game with some luck.
Some massively different experiences on my end
>Extremely difficult on higher difficulties
Never felt the game really push back or challenge me, simple coordination took care of most problems
>Classes are well balanced, and each has a defined roll that matters
I like the classes, but some have some odd overlap that cause them to feel pretty same-ish
>The hordes look amazing
The hordes look cool, but you're not really fighting them as much as you should be, instead you're fighting them mostly in cinematic defense areas and then just pushing on. This game really should take the Vermintide approach and throw shit at you constantly, nonstop.
as far as the difficulty being harder than L4D that's kinda, not really the point. L4D's vs mode was where difficulty truly existed and what most of the game was designed around and balanced around. I've yet to find a zombie game that makes me sweat as much as VS in L4D.
Still a pretty alright game, but not something I really think everyone should buy
Unfortunately it's dead as fuck just like every other non-Fortnite EGS multiplayer game.
*ahem*
It's nothing like l4d, shill.
>Gore system is shit
>Enemy reaction to bullets and explosions is shit
>Main gimmick of the game is poorly executed aka zombie hordes
>Game constantly forces you to shoot zombie for 3-5 minutes until it let you progress
>no tension at all
>empty characters
>no community servers or maps or even mods
>maps suck ass. Who designed this shit?
>Special zombies are worthless and boring
In l4d you rush towards victory.
In this game you just stand still and shoot meat.
>highest difficulty seems hilariously brutal
Not getting this meme, are you trying to play on the highest difficulty at level 1? Get a few levels and the game becomes a cake walk if you're not a mouth breather.
I'll say this much: You can tell that this game was made for empty-headed consolefags.
The tacked on progression system only solidifies that fact.
And no private lobbies. You're forced to play with random dumb fucks.
Neat game, but it's a complete novelty and it shows everywhere. Anyone impressed by the horde system is an idiot, you're being tricked into thinking your fighting a large horde of zombies when in reality you're fighting a block of units that act as a cohesive unit and share a health bar. USE YOUR FUCKING EYES and watch the game for a bit and notice that the zombies you're shooting at aren't even the ones you're killing- that alone makes the game feel really shitty to play. it's actually super unsatisfying to fire into a pack and watch zombies I'm not even hitting drop dead at random.
>epic store exclusive so can't play multiplayer
>ally AI is absolute dogshit so can't play singleplayer
don't waste your time till a multiplayer crack comes out
even if it had multiplayer, it seems like a worse L4D with the whole "the more you play, the better your character gets" shit from KF which sucks dick for games like this and a lot of downtime
Watch a let's play and decide for yourself.
If you liked l4d you will probably like wwz. It's the closest you will ever get to l4d3.
>Extremely difficult on higher difficulties, far harder than L4D ever was
is this with or without the levels it recommends?
I did the difficulty below the hardest in single player at level 2 or so & it seemed about the same difficulty or slightly easier than 4 man expert in L4D
Since the AI is absolute dogshit, I have to imagine the game isn't that much harder if at all harder than L4D when played with actual players rather than the inbred AI
>The hordes look amazing
not in the opening cutscene where they literally warp up vertically when they encounter obstacles such as busses or cars without changing or interrupting their animations
>Have not had any crashes/bugs/errors
not sure if you'd call it a bug or not but in my first hour of playing I noticed there's two types of glass, one is completely & utterly bulletproof, the other technically isn't there and you shoot right through it without shattering it or creating any bullet holes decals or whatever
> the screamer is a real fucking pain because you have to run out to find him to stop hordes
this is why L4D didn't have them, if you play the commentary mode, they talk about this special infected & said it was just way too annoying during playtesting so they removed it youtu.be
>Jumpers are basically free chip damage against your HP bar
only if you don't pay attention, only ever got hit by a jumper once & it was because I was just rushing through because I made the mistake of starting the game on normal
>chargers are either impossible to kill or die instantly
I think you're supposed to shoot a very specific spot on their back, similar to the swat in L4D2, but it seems to either be random or extremely precise
>Most of the fighting is just defending an area and blowing up horde pyramids
I really fucking hate it because it drains the fuck out of ammo, which you don't have a lot of on higher difficulties. I think there's a class that gives extra ammo or whatever, but sadly AI doesn't
>A leveling system with different classes seems like a really good idea in a game like this
I fucking hate it & cheated my way to max level in KF because I couldn't be bothered.
RPG systems that give straight stat advantages in multiplayer coop shooter games is fucking stupid
Normal states it's recommended for level 5, but it's hilariously easy at level 1.
Most likely the highest difficulty is balanced around being capped out on levels & is likely stupidly easy at that point too
i thought thats what i saw in gameplay vids
It's alright. Not spectacular just okay, the real issue is you can beat all the maps in a few hours and I doubt they'll release new content fast enough.
It’s fun OP don’t listen to the shitters enjoy your life.
>It's nothing like l4d, shill.
it's clearly meant to be a L4D clone you retard
>empty characters
most of the characters seem interesting from their bio. Obviously they're not as fleshed out as L4D's since those have 4 characters each vs 16. But there's a lot of characters that clicked with me immediately & I was interested in playing them
>>maps suck ass. Who designed this shit?
do they stop being as linear?
L4D had some linear sections obviously, but often there were sections with multiple paths to get to the same point, even if it was just going through different buildings or through the street
In WWZ it feels like you're stuck in a corridor
World War Z doesn't have a Director AI or anything to control unit spawns, so every stage basically behaves the same every time you play it and has to follow a pretty set pattern on how it works.
The stages are generally fairly linear and are broken up by defense missions, which are the only time the really big hordes spawn.
The flow is something like start -> map progression -> defend -> map progression -> interact with an object to continue -> map progression -> finale
>it's clearly meant to be a L4D clone you retard
vermintide is a clone
this piece of shit is third person shooter for consoleniggers
I'd rather be playing vermintide than this. The flavor is completely different to me.
if you don't see how the only appeal of this is "it's a new L4D" I don't know what to tell you
Vermintide actually tried something different & stands on its own merits, even though it has a lot of similarities to L4D
If you think Vermintide is more of a L4D clone than WWZ you're delusional
For some reason I feel like you think "L4D clone" is a compliment
>zombies in 2019
I'd much rather take on he freaker hoard, thanks
It's a fun game but only because L4D concepts were flawless. No wonders that the WWZ developers went to Epic, the two companies both like to steal gameplay of other famous games.
same
What a time we're living in where we can see shills for two different games fight eachother
>Epic store
Guess I'll get it if/when it comes to another store. On another note though State of Decay 2 is 50% off right now.
Nah, they went epic because they knew this game was DoA.
Literally the only good thing about this game is that it supports Vulkan.
Lv 48 here.
Game is fun.
Level progression.
6 Classes whit different abilitys tree.
19 Weapons (you can upgrade them all)
Hardest difficult is A PAIN
11 Main missions.
Less random than L4D / L4D2.
Multiplayer / pvp.
It's worth MAYBE $20 and only if you have friends to play it with
I heard it crashes a lot, how was your experience so far?
Not a single time on PS4 Pro yet. No blue screen / server crash.
I pirated it, played it for 5 hours and uninstall, its a literal shit zombie games with no soul.
Shit atmosphere, the maps is fucking boring compare to any shitties L4D maps.
Shit zombies interactions, one reason why L4D director AI is superior.
Shitty mauling mechanic, slash zombies head with chainsaw only to see repetitive limbs falling down.
Tons of guns only to feels like a reskin with no fire mode option between them.
16 PC with no uniqueness between them, their fucking voice lines are shitty repetitive lines with no character in them, even the female nig from L4D2 feels more unique than these shitters.
The only good thing is "ZOMG! HUNDREDS OF ZOMBIES"
Worthy successor of L4D my ass.
>Consoles
Oh, eww, nevermind.
I'm a poor motherfucker so only have a normal ps4; hope it doesn't make much of difference.
In vermintide and l4d you rush through entire map while zombies/rats slowly chip away your supplies and health. Danger of getting wiped out always wavers in the air.
In this game you slowly pushing through hordes of shitty meat. Game for console niggers ()
Forgot to mention the sounds designs
Both music and effect are complete dog shit
