2019...

i want to know who thought it was a good idea to make a card game, paywall it, make it so you have to pay to get more cards, then completely drop support for it a few months later

it was already forgotten in 2018

Ouch
Oof

I am so glad it failed. Valve deserved a slap in the face.

post yfw you never played Artifact

Honestly, Steam drones, has Valve made anything successful in the past few years?

>Steam machines? Flop
>Steam controllers? Flop
>SteamOS? Flop
>Steam Link? Flop
>Shartifact? You better believe that was a flop
>Source 2? Not even made to even be a flop
>Steam Videos? Flop
>Steam VR? Fired devs

Literally the only money they have is from rent controlling other peoples games like a corrupt landlord, and that's gonna end soon.

flourishing

The little chorus of "awws" at the reveal should be made into a stock sfx.

Even 10 years old obscure indie games have more players.

There is failed games but this one is a whole different category, this is a fucking disaster.

i want tf2 update!

Steam drones officially died at Artifact's announcement

Hearthstone is the superior mobiletrash game

Don't talk about that shit.
Eternal or Shadowverse.

Valve is worse than EA Actiblizz and Ubisoft now prove me wrong

hyperbolic manchild

It's quite sad how they've almost completely burned through the enormous goodwill and stellar reputation they once had. 8 years ago even Yea Forums was praising Gabe Newell as though he were Santa Claus.

It was like that post Orange Box

>Yea Forums's birthday card to Gabe
>making him actually pay to unlock the crate
>for a hat

Probably the same people behind its awful, awful game design.

what's the online right now?

oho no no no no

60k/10k/1k/500/200 is perfectly fine number of players for a card game
as long as there are 2 players it's enough

>these 200 players are valve drones who sunk too much money into this garbage so they must play it to pretend it was worth it

>don't make HL3 because no microtransaction model is not viable they said
>Manage to make a game with a peak playerbase of 100 people a few month after release

So much for rentability. Gabe Newell and his company are fucking joke. This is pathetic, nobody with half a brain would create such a disaster.

WHERE IS MY AUCTIONEER

Actually, money is how the community steers work

Well that happens if you don't add any region lock in your games or do anything against scripts and cheats.

>microtransaction
they could, you know just make a solid shootan game instead because that's what people want to play

>don't make HL3 because no microtransaction model is not viable they said
they said that? when?

100(?) is the floor

Artifact was Valve's response to Epic Games store to become relevant again. See how badly it failed is hilarious and shows how out of touch they are with reality. I hope they shutdown and lock people out of their games in the next 10 years.

how do you think time works?

The dropping support part was a perfectly reasonable action, the game was averaging like 300 players.

why did the shartifact threads get removed from /vg/?

I used to visit them at least 3 times to take in and savor the shitposting

I still remember all the drones who thought this game wasn't going to be an absolute failure.

They didn't get removed, they just died since the game itself is dead. Doomposting is fun when there are people still hoping/playing that can get triggered by it but the game is now in a Lawbreakers dead state where the only kind of fun you can have with it is making a thread every few days or so to laugh at it and the devs.

well they used to have good sales with super cheap games. the games just aren't as cheap as they used to be and the events will never, ever match 2011.

I still maintain that this game's worst mistake was not being fun.

>Literally the only money they have is from rent controlling other peoples games like a corrupt landlord

I'm willing to bet that Steam trading cards and CSGO, Dota 2, TF2 crates make more money than sales from 90% of the games on Steam.

When you know your audience eat shit, you just defecate. Even before the last "announcement" with months of total silence and abandon there were a couple of people believing in valve. Also, they probably spend a bunch of dollars and food in the slave programmers so they surely made nice money from cucks buying/reselling cards.

271 is actually a good number for a card game

No shit. The greedy as fuck monetization model can account for the low starting playerbase (60k concurrent all time peak) but you don't go from 60k to 100 without your game being fundamentally ass.

jesus christ what the fuck am i reading. how do you even come to this website and post something this retarded, oh wait you're paid to.

Aaaawww...

I have played hundreds of card games. The game kind of found it's niche place, it's not relatively a bad game at all.
Physical games are full of jews.

there are cheap games but they are all shovelware indie garbage, they just don't give away the best games anymore

God I wish I was you

I also never played Dota either. I just like Rubick a lot.
