I have been trying to get back into emulating the ps1 to play some of my childhood favorites again
but every single site I go to has none, its always the same .bin file everywhere and the same two emulators
Seriously what happened??
What the fuck happened to Isos?
Nintendo happened.
>Not using archive for full sets
If you want to emulate, try checking reddit, someone posted a greasemonkey script that generate links. People are just making it like sadpanda now
You need to search harder.
I'm honestly also surprised by how much all Isos have been replaced by bin. What was the reason for that? Were they supposed to be the substitue files for Isos or something? Because oddly some work, and others have varying degrees of not working
bin/cue is the traditional way
You can make them an .iso but the exact process I'm not sure. As long as you arent amassing a complete set just run the .cue.
Is this what it's like to be without a private tracker nowadays? Should have filled out the application and drawn a fucking gazelle when you had the chance
Why does Ralph look so much like Wile E. Coyote?
Are they secretly the same person?
bin/cue sets support multitrack games, and the PS1 has a lot of games that have their BGM stored as redbook audio tracks on the disc. In .iso format they aren't preserved so the games run but have no music.
Lol wut? Search harder. If it was porn you'd fuckin find em.
Apparently they have some minor differences like eye and nose color and different personalities so I'd say different characters (maybe)
also this, you can even get links on youtube.
I got a big pack of curated shit to load on my PS Classic off a YT description link, and it's all just bin/cue sets, try one of those.
Thats pretty interesting bit of knowledge but I also dont think I ever ran into that issue of music not playing before
>If it was porn you'd find 'em
To this day I still search for particular videos in vain hope
I did find some but they're locked behind paywalls
Dont get me wrong I'm sure I can find them if I keep looking, but its just the fact that I was running into THE VERY SAME FILE every time in every traditional emu/iso site I found that bothered me and I wanted to know what was going on
They are diffrent characters.
bin/cue is superior for PS1, and if it really bothers you just convert to iso format it's an automatic process these days.
go to /vg/ and look at the emulator general faggot or go on leddit
>You can convert the files
FUCK why didnt I think of this
Okay thanks everyone for your help with this, its been given me lots of insight
I guess it's because coyotes and wolves look kinda similar in real life.
Their goals and actions are also pretty much the same too, which is probably another reason why Ralph was designed to look so similar to Wile E Coyote.
just load the cue newfag, it's like an index for the bin blob
What is the difference between a cue, a bin and iso?
get the fucking PC version, it looks and runs way better
cue/bin go together, originally used mostly for audio CDs the .cue has "track" information for the .bin which contains all of the raw data read from the disc (technically most accurate), while a .iso is basically a converted image that contains the files that were on the disc (usually smaller, easier to manage, but not really as accurate)
it doesn't really matter which you use for this kind of shit, just google around or use whatever is available or your emulator accepts
>Get a converter
>Turn the .bin into .iso
>Now nothing works at all, even the ones that worked
If you've got a .bin and it's a good one, you've probably got a .cue file
Just run the .cue file
