Just eject the cartridge, delete the software (the save data remains intact), put cart back in, it’ll update now.
The hard part will be to redownload everything you deleted (the pass, piranha plant), but it’s not that big of a struggle (it’s still there, don’t get me wrong, but the download file size is so minuscule, it’s not that big of a problem)
