If you are just viewing Yea Forums through the 4channel board, you don't see the cool posts, the posts with dubs at the end, or anything else. Together, those make up about 40-70 percent of Yea Forums, depending on the day. So conversation will appear disjointed and spastic, because you won't be getting the full picture.

It's fun to just explore and watch people for an hour or two. Most of the people are fucking terrible to actually talk to. Also some neat VR stuff like vehicles and fun minigames.

One time in VRChat, saw this guy sit in a bar, alone, by himself, in the same spot, for 6 hours straight.
I went to talk to him, he told me about how he does this everyday, and then told me to bug someone else.
I have no idea if he actually did that shit every day but I did see him the next day in the exact same spot.
It weirded me out.

I play a lot of Elite Dangerous, personally. Beat Saber is an obvious choice since anybody with a VR headset also circlejerks about Beat Saber.

Games with full 3D movement can be extremely disorienting, but most games are built in a way that's comfortable for people to play. They have you sitting in a cockpit or teleporting around rather than walking. So I'd say it's a definite possibility depending on the game.

First couple times you play it most lily will until you get used to it, also if a game has the option to walk or teleport you always teleport since walking is vomit city

No ED is too complicated for that. I use a joystick, but I know quite a few people who say they like using a keyboard.

How would you rate the comfiness of your headset? I had an Odyssey for a bit but it was painfully squeezing my head and nose no matter how I wore it

Yes, most certainly. The guy that created the VR mod is currently working on a full body support for the game and there is already a BETA, free version to test and play around with. Replace the cushion. I have an Oculus and it used to dig into my forehead a bit, but I loosened the straps and got a third-party cushion and it felt way better.

The game isn't for everyone. There's a lot of things to do in ED, though, and a dedicated PVP mode if you don't like ridiculously open-ended games.

I have had some fantastic encounters in public world's in the past but it's a rare occasion. The game has lost a lot of popularity since it exploded and most regulars who still play it have their own private circlejerk world's and discords to stick to. You can find cool people in public worlds, but you gotta sift through mounds of faggots, ERPers, and fuckers that come in just to blast the map with visual diarrhea and loud nigger rap.

Vive has full-body tracking but it's considerably pricier than a Rift (Oculus has an MSRP of about $350 or so, while Vive is priced at $500), and you'll definitely want a third sensor and a deluxe audio strap.
Oculus is cheaper, but doesn't have support for full-body tracking and you have to sell your soul to Zuckerberg for it. However, I've personally tried both and prefer the Oculus. The tracking is far smoother and it's considerably easier to set up and get working.

You should really buy a VR headset for more than just VRchat, though. There's plenty of good, polished titles to choose from.

Vive only uses 2 sensors unlike the Oculus which can have more. But yeah, second on the deluxe audio strap. No idea why that isn't part of the official setup, really fucking annoying.

But the thing with VR is, despite it being online it's alot more difficult and easier at the same time to get to know people. You'd be surprised how easier it is to type on Discord than it is to literally talk on VR for example. I shouldn't have to explain the differences here to be fair.

While i agree VR isn't as benefitial or worth the money for some, for others they end up enjoying their time using it. For me personally i've got more than my moneys worth and that's not forcing myself to use it but rather wanting to use it. Horror games are a good example here (The Forest / Resident Evil / Alien Isolation) outside of VRchat, Beatsaber, Pavlov and other popular titles.

I'll only get VR if they start making games with hundreds of dudes on screen fighting so I can satiate my never ending blood lust.

I've got over 1000 hours in this game and never understood either until the past few weeks when i participated.
