I'm not sure what everyone was expecting here. Trying to log in and download right on a major release for any other game would have resulted in the same thing happening. Why would you think it would be different for Smash?

Absolutely untrue, Red Dead 2 for example (a much higher selling game with a MUCH larger download requirement on day 1) had no problems on xboner. Enjoy paying for your nonfunctional online service.
