Piss mad Bloom Souls 3 baby.
Go play your particle affect simulator and get the fuck out of this thread.
oh boy another ds2 circlejerk thread that's actually about ds3
no
I do find it the weakest because the PvE is a little underwhelming, but it's far from a bad game. It's a very good RPG, compared to its brothers.
>thing in DS2 is bad
>BUT DS3 DID OTHER THING BAD
There saved you a thread.
most secrets
most armor
most builds
most fun
I just started playing the 2nd for the first time. Can you guys explain to me why it feels so weird compared to 1 and 3? Like the movement feels different and the game just looks like ass? wtf happened
>Was Dark Souls 2 really that bad? Let's discuss it.
It's the best and it's not even a troll post. It's easily the best to play, explore and replay. The most ambitious one with lots of well executed content. The nitpicks everyone post are mechanics in all DaS/BB/Sekiro games fromsoft has ever done. It's like all the kids heard something when they were young, parroted it, and when they grew up they realized they've been lied and ate a chode of dick, and can't back on it, because it would make them look hypocritical. So they keep eating the lie chode to save face.
Anyways, DaS2 Scholar is awesome. Others can eat a chode.
I haven't played ds3 yet
jesus you ds2 fags get set off easily
You're asking for a cancer thread. Yes it was bad but probably wouldn't have been as hated if it wasn't connected to dark souls 1. That being said, dark soul 3 is the only souls game I've never replayed but I've replayed 2 a few times.
It wasn't THAT bad. Nothing is THAT bad. But it was PRETTY bad, I think what I dislike the most about it is how bad the sound effects are and how absolutely ugly everything pre-Drangleic Castle except Heide's Tower of Flame looks.
It's the best Fable game.
This but ironically. DaS3 was the big stinker in my opinion.
The game looks bad because the lighting system that was SUPPOSED to be part of the game was completely gutted, either because of development time or console limitations, I don't know exactly which.
Controls are weird because of the deadzones, something about how your character sharply turns into a completely different direction as soon as you move the stick past a certain angle rather than smoothly walking in a curve.
Nah. I'm going to be honest, I'm currently enjoying it a lot more than DS1, but only because I played DS1 a millions times and never played DS2. So everything is new and fresh, making it more enjoyable, because I played DS1 so many times that I can't even remember how it felt the first time.
I'm a little disappointed by the movement. Everything is so clunky. You have to put all your souls into adaptability to get rid of the clunkiness, who thought this was a good idea lol?
Other than that, it's pretty good. Not as good as DS3, which is like a love letter to DS1 fans. But I know that's not going to be a popular opinion around here, so I won't get into that.
Aldia was one of the best additions to the lore of the series, but of course because Miyazaki sees that the majority of DS2 was a mistake didn't add any meaningful conclusion, but instead gave us reskinned Anor Londo, Gwyn 2.0, the Artorias fan club, Gwyndolin swallowed by literal pile of feces, etc
Tell me why you like Aldia so I can decide if you're a good man or if I should make fun of you.
They used a new engine for ds2
Every fucking time DaS2 is mentioned, you retards gotta flip out.
Fuck no. Some dude released a video hating on it when it first came out, and it got like a million views before anyone even watched it. So everyone just parrots it and never even played it.
It is nowhere near as bad as even that video says. There have been several debunks, but no one cares or pays attention because the Dark Souls fan base is a fucking r*ddit bandwagon.
yeah brilliant debunks like this

No.

dark souls 2 is a good game. imo it is easily equivalent to the original. they have different mechanics but each is equally challenging.
2 looks like shit but it felt like a proper growth from 1. 3 felt like it was just not-bloodborne with dark souls paint. 3 just has aesthetics and visuals over 2 imo. I even enjoyed 2s story more than 3s despite it being the conclusion to 1.
Never seen it, but nice to see that the matthewmatosis reddit defense squad arrived and trashed the comments/dislike button just in time
the comments are so hilarious to read. it's like he stirred up an entire hivemind with profound wrongthink.
Currently playing Scholar of First Sin. Just beat The Rotten. I'm liking it so far. Why do autists keep shitting on this game so much?
Because of the reddit bandwagon
Only redditors who get their opinions from youtubers dislike Dark Souls 2
Prove me wrong
best in the series in my opinion, best bosses, best maps, best lore, best everything
There's literally a Youtuber for both liking and disliking it, user.
Shhh, don't ruin his illusion. Let him live in his black and white world where everyone who hates what he likes is from reddit.
cringe samefag redditor
I should also add that this is my first Dark Souls game because these autistic weebs have been echoing this shit for almost a decade I decided to finally play this shit and see what's so good about it. Stamina is pretty annoying having it drain dumb fast without getting a proper combo and trash hollows with delayed attacks fuck up my parry time.
It only gets better
Mirror Knight was a favorite of mine. Still a fuckton to go, user.
The expansions add a 2nd half altogether. It's twice the game. It's incredible.
I can't fathom hating this game. There is so much quality, yet so much quantity at the same time. So much great content. You can spend an entire year playing this fucking game.
Imagine hating an amazing game just because r*ddit says,
>Old game good, new game bad
Imagine hating an amazing game just because it's not just a boring retread of the first game. You faggot sicken me.
I've been using Drangleic sword and thinking about upgrading it with a lightning stone. Is there a better two handed sword? I kinda want what Masterless guy is using but I don't know what the fuck it's called.
>Starting with the second game in the series
The remastered one wasn't on sale. Only bought the swcond and third one.
Bump, could use some helpful tips for my DS 2 playthrough. For instance how mu h faith do I add to use miracles yet keep my warrior/knight stats?
Nice to see someone still like my boy Skeet
>Faith
For the love of god please don't do that, offensive miracles are terrible and the buffs are not even remotely worth it
t. has done two faith-only runs
Not even for lightning weapon buff or heals to save Estus sippies?
Pfft, calm the fuck down.
Who needs heals when you have life gems?
Saving on Estus early on could be the only remotely justifiable return from putting points on faith, but I don't think that would be worth the tradeoff of not being able to pump stats into other things instead. The way the game is set up, you need to stack a buff with an infusion to be able to do good stuff with it, and that opportunity cost would still be better spent on dumping all those points into STR to carry around something bigger and dumber to crush fools with rather than whacking people with a yellow mace for the entire duration of the game like I did.
So should my points only go towards Vigor, Endurance, Vitality, Strength and Dex? And a few in Adaptability?
Yes. If this is your first time through the game I’d save a caster build for another playthrough.
Reminder that the people who complain about adaptability are fags that want to fast roll with full Havel's
Quality > Quantity = DS1
Quality < Quantity = DS2
Quality = Quantity = DS3
I gave up on my caster Hex battlemage build at the Earthen Tower because of those fucking Maniken shitheads and the retarded poison. Turns out using the single striking bandit axe is fucking horrible. Doing much better on my warrior knight playthrough with the draenglic sword and Watchdragon Parma.
I feel like we're having a lot of DaS2 threads recently. Is it on sale?
>Quality > Quantity
>DS1
Did you just completely miss the whole thing about the entire second half of the game not being nearly as good as the first half?
reminder to appreciate the sanctum mace
appreciate it now
...
you appreciating it yet?
fpbp we have this discussion every fucking day
DaS1: Quality > Quantity > Quality
DaS2: Quantity > Quality
DaS3: (flips and fire)
Where do I get it?
>rusted, broken down, ugly like nearly every other Great Hammer in Souls games
Nah.
Dark souls 2 was the lesser of the 3 games but did a lot of cool the others don’t like power stance and enemies/items exclusive to ng+
Yes, it was really that bad.
Also:
drops from sanctum soldiers in the first DLC
Cringe. Screencaped your post and posted it on reddit.
Just arrived at pic related and I'm really starting to like the game.
At least pick Velstadt's Hammer, it at least doesn't look like it's ready to fall apart.
2 was the best.
You could get nearly amy weapon RIGHT AWAY. The best replayability by a wide margin. You had 4 rings to equipthe durabilityone, and as many levels ad you wanted for iframes.
Ive personally put overr 500 hours into each but 3 (and sekiro around 150) and 2 has the best pve replayability
Made a post of digg too
Is the Dragon's Tooth hammer good or shit not worth wasting twinkling titanite on?
not sure but it's the only one i keep coming back to
>pre Drangleic Castle
Even from DC and onwards the only decent looking areas were Amana and Aerie.
DC and King's Passage were ridiculously unfinished messes, Undead Crypt was mostly a bunch of square rooms with a missing ceiling, Aldia a poorly textured corridor with an unfinished dragon hall, Dragon Shrine was a discarded version of DC with some messy geometry and misaligned textures, the memories were just shittier looking FotFG areas and the Throne of Want was just sad to look at for a final area.
Well, I count the DLC areas as post-Drangleic, and those certainly can look good. But yes, Aldia keep is an abomination. I like the look of Drangleic Castle though, and while Dragon Shrine looks kinda bland it's absolute heaven compared to the ugly hell that is Harvest Valley and Shaded Woods and Tseldora. Or god forbid, FUCKING BLACK GULCH
how many fucking times do you people need to have the same exact word for word thread
Autism.
Drangleic Castle, like Heide, only looks good at first sight.
The whole thing falls apart once you take a closer look, be it that the outerior uses like only four/five different textures, the entire castle having next to no windows, almost all of the rooms being detailless and unfinished to the point that geometry is clipping through them or flat out missing, placeholder textures here and there or King's Passage which as a whole is just one big quality issue.
