I never quite understood why they moved away from the closed helmet design the H1 elites had. When their mandibles are all closed, the plating closes together and provides full protection. Everything beyond, they're begging for bullets straight down their throats.

It's a little confusing but basically the Halo 4 box has a body that accepts armor pieces and the MarkV is armor for that. They did sell just the body but it seems hard to find alone.

It's a minor complaint, but something that has always bugged me about modern elites is the head pieces. They're not sharp and intimidating, they're round and more flat at the front. The elites in H2:A look nowhere near as intimidating as the ones in CE/2.

I disagree.

The maps were certainly a lot fucking worse, and armor abilities broke even starts, but the weapon sandbox and balancing was way better, with most guns being decent in their intended roles, being more unique rather then clones of each other and, ironically, more capable of shooting straifht despite the introduction of bloom, since bloom at least wasn't as awful as the innate random spread 3 had on everything.

The movement physics were a lot more responsive as well. 3 feels like an underwater, floaty mess.

Reach was the closest anyone ever got to a "Perfect" FPS. Now I get it when people talk about armor lock, but outside of that it was perfect. Now I say that because I never used armor lock once and I saw it as a weakness because all you had to do was retreat or spam their feet with grenades until they pop out of it. I understand that is alot easier said than done,I am someone who has never had less than a 2 k/d in any Halo and I've been playing since before Xbox live existed starting with CE.

Nothing beats the look of the Halo 1 Plasma Sword. That giant glowing aura around the whole blade emphasizes its power and makes it look like anything in the vicinity of that thing will be annihilated. It was a proper one-hit kill weapon.

Reach is nowhere near perfect because of the disgusting motion blur, the disappointing campaign, and the start of Halo's lack of decent maps.
Also, the weapon balance was still almost as fucked as Halo 3's was.
