Owain's dad died taking an arrow. Lonk protects Lissa from an arrow during their support. It's basically canon, and their chemistry is perfect. Lonk's an autist around women while Lissa's boy crazy. Hilarity ensues and they can even learn from one another. There's a reason it's so popular.

Lissa also makes a comment in FEW that's like "you must get that from your father" when Owain gets embarrassed from Lissa hugging him.
