>the pre-FF7 games are mobileshit
?

5 and 6 are mobile ports and look like garbage

You can play literally every JRPG on PC you fucking consolecuck.

Look like garbage how?

Trails series.

They all look so fucking boring and generic.

The problem with the ports is that while FF3 and FF4 had full blown 3d remakes with genuine effort put into them, FF5 and FF6's are mobile ports with worse looking sprites and art, also ruined portraits. That's also overlooking the HUD/menus that got butchered for mobileshitters.

>seething emufags
lol what is this, a mobile gaming thread?

Grandia 2

>falcom
>generic
lol, only cold steel is generic

There's nothing wrong with the mobile ports wtf are you talking about?

he said best not most medicore

A lot of JRPGs worth playing are not offered on GOG/Steam/Epic/etc. though. You're cutting yourself from literally mutliple console/handheld generations of vidya.

Sauce on that gif?

>OP asks for PC JRPGs
>WHAT ABOUT THIS SEGA GENESIS GAME, OP?
Presumedly most people don't care because they've already played most of those games they were interested in already.

How can a multimillion company do this with a multimillion franchise?
Random homeless indies living in tents could do a MUCH better job for free.

Are you making the implication that there are JRPGs that are PC exclusive and not console ports? because the only ones I can think of are porn

>user lists the main thing wrong with the mobile ports
>There's nothing wrong with the mobile ports!!

I'm looking to doing another playthrough with the upscaled backgrounds mod, made from utilizing those neural network stuff.

I imagine OP is wanting recommendations for PC JRPGs from the last few years. He said nothing of exclusives, just JRPGs that he can play on PC.

Record of Lodoss War

Thanks

yes, AAA publishers mess up also, releasing ports with hideous redesigns. That doesn't mean ALL mobile ports are like the few ugly FF mobile ports.

btw, I don't even play games on my phone. I just don't 100% practice/believe what's preached on this site like a sheep.

>forgetting Ys Oath
The one Ys game that everyone should play, and you just had to go and leave it out, how silly of you.

what? I didn't say anything about mobile ports in general, I'm saying the mobile ports of FF5 and 6 (you know, the games we were talking about) are dogshit

>UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENES
bravo japan, bravo

Well shit, can't believe I left that one out. Thanks for correcting me.

DQXI is way better.

Dragon Quest XI by a long shot.

Bump

Ni no Kuni 2
Its not the best jrpg ever but its miles better than the putrid shit that is DQXI.

NnK2 is super cute so play that.

Wtf

Romancing SaGa 2.

>good jrpgs
that's an oxymoron.
Play wizardry 8 and you'll never want to touch a jrpg ever again

>wizardry 8
that's an oxymoron.
play elminage gothic and you'll never want to touch a jrpg ever again

Is it good?

Never played Ni no Kuni 2. But I played Ni no Kuni 1 and it was literally Dragon Quest VIII with all the good ideas removed.

Final Fantasy III on Steam actually got a vast improvement over its DS version. No idea why Final Fantasy IV was a shitty port from mobile with horrid UI.

Attached: final_fantasy_3_eureka.jpg (1920x1080, 416K)

elminage is alright, closest jap wizardry clone to an actual classic wizardry game for better and for worse

Even the PSP FF3 changes don't do anything to mitigate the shitty second half of that game. You still get hit with a massive grind wall with Xandt. The final dungeon is still a pain. And Matrix Software were WAY too conservative about polishing about the overall experience for the better.

All the PC ports of the Final Fantasy games are bad. They are bad ports of the shitty mobile remakes.

>He doesn't know Record of Lodoss War
Best OVA based on a D&D campaign ever made. Too bad the anime was shit because it was following a new crew. God tier opening, though.
youtu.be/9aUfGClzhdI

I didn't say the game lacked flaws. But every FF game turns to shit in the last half. What I'm talking about is performance and UI. They improved those on the Steam version of Final Fantasy III. Compared to Final Fantasy where they transplanted the shitty smartphone UI and didn't enlarge the games resolution.

>But every FF game turns to shit in the last half.
Not true. FF4, FF5, FF6, and FF7 all had pretty good second halves.

All of the games you just named except FFV have horrible second halfs where the story gets stalled with filler quests and predictable plot twists.
