Digital Devil Saga is definitely a little different but in the best way possible. It's got easily one of the best casts in MegaTen and a great story and levels. The combat is fun and you get a lot of customization on your characters. I highly recommend it

In his first phase when he uses the sword try and dodge the trickier attacks instead of parrying and punish with a few hits. When he goes into his second phase get a few free hits in when he's pulling the spear out of the ground.
