I like K2 a lot, but that final boss was a really big moment in the series and despite me thinking K2 improves on a LOT of the original, that boss was underwhelming.

Outside of 0 most people would feel burned if they paid full price because most of the games are shit. They could only justify the high prices when there were weebs so desperate for them that they charged anything. Now that Yakuza is mainstream they know the average player won't just lap up shit like the fanboys will.
Most of the games are bad but it's hard to be mad about it when they are budget prices.

First Yakuza game was 0 and Kiwami 1 felt more of the same desu. Kinda right but I find the games enjoyable nonetheless, just like monster hunter.

Majima is pretty fun, but there are some bosses that are just plain boring. Ringu for example is shit as fuck, as I fell because of grenades or bullets every five seconds. The fight isn't even hard as you can carry a buttload of healing items, it's just long and boring because the guys evade like fucking Kiryu on Rush steroids, and you have to spam A to wake up from you frequent power naps. The Nikishimia fight after that was pretty rad though.

Im Glad 0 was successful. Good games deserve to be successful.

Like this guy You have to really hate this series to think than any of them is outright bad. Even Dead Souls, 4-5 game, has really great moments - and feels like a way to experiment with the formula.

And yet same cunts praise Souls - clunky games that never really improve, yet take more time to develop for some reason. Clunky RPGs that are made by people who don't even get why gamers like it so much (hint: it's not combat or story). But hey, have some shitty platforming and poisoned swamp.

Yakuza is a TV Show, each year you get a new season with characters you like - and sometimes newcomers which are likable also. Yep, it's a rehash of sorts - but it's one of the best. Unlike CoD or AC which change too little in some aspects (gameplay) and too much in other (settings and characters) so you can't really feel anything other than "oh yeah, right, gotta play it, I guess". Here it's like going on a vacation with some soap-opera action movie cliches thrown around so you don't get bored.

tl;dr you have to be a really jaded person to talk shit about RGG - and a really stupid one at that to do think that fans don't know about its flaws and accept them (it's not the same as not seeing or ignoring them).

Yeah agreed the combat of this franchise was tolerable on PS2. I tried to play Kiwami and hard and literally removed the game from my PS4 and placed it permanently on my collection shelf after I noticed a bosses health was regenerating as I was doing damage to them and that was the difference from "Hard" to "Normal". I liked majima even if it was grindy
Most of the boss fights being huge amount of enemies with 2 or 1 dude with super amor while others having quick moves or weapons wasn't fun at all though and Jingu was just bullshit

I bought Yakuza 0 on Steam and it is my first entry into the Yakuza series. I enjoyed the game thoroughly and I don't understand where "the problem" is? Did Sega do something wrong by expanding this series beyond the Playstation consoles?

There's also a Kiryu cosplayer in 2 extorting people for money with someone dressed up like shinji. I'm surprised Kiryu didn't immediately beat the shit out of theme for disrespecting his dead friend.
