I heard a translation for 2 might finally coming out sometime, haven't looked it up though. You can play through 2 and 4 without reading though (4 is a bit tricky in places). Don't get turned off by how 1 (Legend of the Mystical Ninja) looks, it's a great game, especially co-op. 2 is probably the best of the SNES games though.

That reads horribly primarily because of the writer more than the language.
But there is a kernel of truth in that Japanese works best when it's highly contextual.
It has a ridiculously low information density compared to most languages so it sucks for unambiguously spelling things out. Plays to its weaknesses.

SegaCD was amazing when it came out. Relatively short life due to PSX but some seriously high quality, fun games. Check out Third World War - quite ambitious for a console game back then.

Breath of the wild to check it out glad i didnt buy a whole console just for this.

They're part of the same series, but Shining the Holy Ark is a first person dungeon crawler, and the Shining Force games are strategy RPGs. They're both awesome though.

I'm emulating Digital Devil Saga from ps2 and there's Persona 4 too but that's untouched. I'm considering playing final fantasy 12 too but it's hard to justify, I haven't finished FF Type 0 on ppsspp and it's miles better.

I've recently been investing more into flashcarts and modchips Aand other various hardware for various systems. Got an MM3 for the PS1, a backlit screen for my GBA, and the GBA to GCN controller adapter thing.

Try mednafen or SSF then.

I think only mednafen has a fast forward. It’s not very good though. The sounds warps and it’s not that much of a speed boost. SF3 is on the slow side but I just wish I could skip dialogue faster. And the UI is annoying at times.
